The Amazon Rainforest is a moist broadleaf forest in the Amazon Basin of South America. The area encompasses seven million square kilometers (1.2 billion acres), though the forest itself occupies some 5.5 million square kilometers, located within nine nations and about 60% in Brazil. One thing that makes the beaches of the northern coast of São Paulo (and the southern coast of Rio, and other bits further south) unique is that they are found right by the Atlantic rainforest. The biodiversity of the Mata Atlántica, as the forest is known in Portuguese, is unrivalled. The scenery too. The sequence of water, sand, forest and mountains can’t be found anywhere else in Brazil.
The contact with the tropical forest brings the visitor in close contact with different bird species. You only have to sit and rest and wait for the birds to appear. My daughter has started to hold her head up very well over the past week, so my husband and I started searching the web for some kind of jumperoo for her! She was already sparking interest in jumping when my husband would hold her up and she started to kick her legs like crazy.
We went to Babies “R” Us and found the Rainforest Jumperoo and she loves it! What ’s great about it is that you don’t have to put it in the doorway like most jumpers because it’s a free standing one. It lights up, plays music and your child can spin around to play with all the different toys.

For the first time since moving to Sequim, our children came to visit, one from Hawaii and the other from Alaska. They both flew into Seatac, in Seattle around 10pm and we drove to Sequim in a couple of hours.After a good nights sleep we decided not to waste a lot of time and got on the road to the Hoh Rainforest. This swing is SO worth the $120.00. We actually bought the swing with store credits from duplicate items purchased off our baby registry at Target. I picked out this swing specifically because it has the option of being powered by batteries or a wall outlet. At the time, it was the only plug-in swing I could find on the market. One great thing about the swing is how it can quickly change from side-to-side or front-to-back, even when the baby is in the swing. The music is actually not annoying! My baby had colic and for about 2 months, the only time he slept was swaddled in his swing or his bouncy chair. The Conservatives have vowed cough up $30 million for the protection of BC's Great Bear Rainforest. The announcement comes nearly 12 months after environmentalists, native leaders, and the BC provincial government reached a historic agreement for the preservation of the area.The federal dollars will join $60 million already contributed by private foundations, and an additional $30 million from the BC Liberals, to form a $120 million pool for the creation of a new protected area three times the size of Prince Edward Island.Moving forward, the future of the forest will largely depend on the enforcement of the ecosystem based management system that will govern logging in the area, as the strict protected area will only cover about 1/3 of the total forest area. This was a controversial part of the agreement, and as recently as 2005 the David Suzuki Foundation published findings that showed widespread clear cutting and negative impacts from logging in the region's most productive salmon
