I will not praise this album as most people do, "In Rainbows" is a great album by British rock band Radiohead, and it`s probably the best album of the year, it`s maybe the kind of thing you like over repeated listening, or in time, but for me it`s a lot above average but not that good, again, it`s my personal opinion because this is my blog, you may agree or disagree. Wikipedia classifies it under art rock, which is pretty correct, alternative rock is probably no longer correct because the genre started as a general "alternative" classification of rock bands that didn`t fit elsewhere. We have been pretty quiet since October when the In Rainbows news was overtaking the web, and since that time, things have not exactly slowed down too much either. The band that almost nobody has a bad thing to say about have been busy here in the latter half of the year.
The band will release their album in physical format here in the states on January 2nd via ATO Records. In addition the band did one of their strange-o webcast thingies a couple weeks ago as well and performed some new material including a cover of Bjork’s “Unravel”. And the remixes are already bouncing around the web as well, I have seen three so far that I can recall, you can probably snag em over on Hype.

What better way to perk up a Monday morning lull than with an increment of official Radiohead news? Today Billboard reports that a North American release date for In Rainbows is set for January 2. Following the announcement of its UK release on XL Recordings on New Years Eve, the band is set to release the already downloadable album on their own imprint, TBD Records, by way of ATO Recordings, as previously rumored.
Last month, Radiohead made its new release, "In Rainbows", available for download and allowed fans to choose their own price. Although the album was virtually free, "In Rainbows" was the most illegally-downloaded album in its first week of release. Now, a study by comScore Inc. has been released that claims that roughly 38% of those who downloaded the album actually paid for it - an average of $6 per purchase. Much has been made of these figures in the mainstream and Internet press with many suggesting that the "pay-what-you-want" model was a failure for Radiohead. Far from it.The "In Rainbows" website has had roughly 1.2 million visitors (you'll notice that almost every other blog is reporting this number as the amount of downloads - erroneous!) since the release of the album. A crunchy programmed drumbeat is pushed aside in favour of dry, tight live drums and clean jazzy chords. the fall is my favorite time of year because of the energy i receive from it. the feeling always comes in terms that keep reminding me of another new beginning. on long windy roads amongst scattered trees, its a pleasure to closely stare out the window in hopes of finding those perfect autumn colors, but lately our country’s weather seems to be misleading the october leaves with its hot, humid summer days. much like my mind, this most beautiful season doesnt seem to know when its suppose to begin again. however fortunately for now, all those special jewel tones of reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues appear on another path through the colorful form of audiotherapy.
radiohead’s seventh studio album, in rainbows, easily delivers the magic and light that should always be craved in a new fall release. fresh to the ear, some of the songs we have come to know and love over these waiting years diversified themselves into interchanging watercolors.
In Rainbows has arrived, and while I am quite positive this album will totally take over the blogosphere and maybe the world today, I can’t keep from leaving my own comments after I just made my first trip through the album this morning. Keep in mind, these are only early thoughts…..
First thoughts are that it is a bit quieter than I had expected, with more leaning towards the Thom Yorke solo disc in spots.
Early favorite tracks are “Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi”, “Bodysnatchers” and “Nude.”
Also really digging “Jigsaw Falling Into Place”, as I write this….
The band seems to be over their overly experimental music phase, and may have even returned to some traditional song structures….some.

Radiohead anunció hace ya tiempo que su nuevo disco, In rainbows, lo iban a sacar de una manera muy curiosa: vía web, costaría la voluntad y sin ninguna discográfica de por medio. Es un tema que nunca puse en Pisito por falta de tiempo y porque estaba recorriendo TODO Internet a la velocidad de la luz, me sentía repetitivo. Hoy me ha llegado por mail el link para poder descargarlo (lo había reservado) y ya está abierta para TODOS.
Me parece una iniciativa impresionante. Por un lado se enfrenta a las discográficas (e indirectamente combate la piratería) y siendo la banda que es hace el doble de daño; por otro lado instaura un precedente y un ejemplo a seguir para otros grupos POTENTES (creo que esto sólo se lo pueden permitir grupos ya maduros).
Por lo que he leído la media que se estaba pagando (la voluntad) por el disco era de 4 libras. Teniendo en cuenta que ellos más o menos se llevan 1 libra de cada disco... También al ser web la descarga llega a todos de una mane

It's set...Radiohead will launch their new album In rainbow on their own website and they will offer to the World, for free all the album songs.This is not the first time that a band does this, Prince did it before; but what's new about their offer is that you can download the album and then decide the amount of money you wanna pay for it !You can pay "0" and you can pay 1.000.000 ...it depends if you liked the album or not !Thanks Radiohead for this gift !and by the way, the album will be launched on the 10th of October (not in January as media said earlier this month)Hopefully, it will do a great buzz and people will pay a certain amount of pounds cause Radiohead deserve it !Alternative Buzz
Many people who know me know I’ve been a big Radiohead fan for a long time. Now I know what you’re thinking, and yes, it is very unusual for a mid-thirties internet geek to be a Radiohead fan, but indeed, I am the exception. Got so many pelik pelik mia mooncake flavours. This chocolate cream cheese one's not bad la. But I don't find anything particularly great about it either.{German Black Forst - HYT}Hmm.... Black Forest.... Quite disappointing actually.... I thought the currant part was something like jelly or at least some currant currant jam or something. But no - it was a tiny bit of glazed cheery.
