I believe the State Government’s new water prices are a missed opportunity to reward water conservation. The increase will do nothing to encourage water conservation. It merely ensures that garden watering restrictions continue. In today's Chicago Tribune, Steve Chapman carries on this campaign's tradition of poking around the world of pardons, making "connections" and drawing conclusions. As we know, Mrs. Clinton tried to tag Barack Obama with Weather Underground member Bill Ayers and Obama reminded her that her husband exercised the clemency power on behalf of Susan Rosenberg and Linda Evans - Weather Underground members who, unlike Ayers, actually spent time in prison. Adding to the fun, Chapman wonders about Republican candidate John McCain's relationship with another fairly radical individual, G. Gordon Liddy, whose prison sentence was commuted after four years by Jimmy Carter. Chapman notes Liddy held a fundraiser in his home for McCain in 1998 and has contributed $5,000 to his campaigns over the years. McCa

When Reverend Wright's comments first surfaced in March, I was watching Joe Scarborough's program on MSNBC, and didn't think it was much more than a two-day story that would have any real impact aside from maybe dispelling some of the lingering notions that the senator was a follower of Islam. Yes, the nature of the clips they played seemed a little outlandish, but I was willing to suspect that they were probably out of context, and to be perfectly honest, I wasn't totally in disagreement with the concept that the terrorist attacks of 11-September-2001 were in response to abrasive American foreign policy. It wasn't the entire motivator, sure, and they were by no means justified, but our actions in Africa and in the Middle East were a contributing factor in antagonizing al-Qaeda. Our presen

From: Sri Lanka's Anglican Church adopts Liberation Theology, Bishop shows symbolic solidarity with Kilinocchi The goings-on of the hitherto staid Anglican Church of Sri Lanka have caused some controversy. It started when the good old Church of England, euphemistically called the Church of Ceylon, passed a revolutionary resolution. Tabling a complexly-worded document, the head priest of the local Church of England, the Right Reverent Duleep de Chickera justified what he called a fundamental "paradigm shift" as a necessity for the church "in the context of the present post-modern political, social, economic and cultural reality in Sri Lanka." The resolution urged the members of his church to form themselves into a socialist-style "Jesus community with shared resource

Nasa scientist warns the world must urgently make huge CO2 reductions Ed Pilkington in New York The Guardian - April 7 2008 One of the world's leading climate scientists warns today that the EU and its international partners must urgently rethink targets for cutting carbon dioxide in the atmosphere because of fears they have grossly underestimated the scale of the problem. In a startling reappraisal of the threat, James Hansen, head of the Nasa Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, calls for a sharp reduction in C02 limits. Hansen says the EU target of 550 parts per million of C02 - the most stringent in the world - should be slashed to 350ppm. He argues the cut is needed if "humanity wishes to preserve a planet similar to that on which civilisation developed". A fi

Canada’s months-long plea to its fellow NATO nations for increased military support in Afghanistan has finally been answered by the Frenc-whoops! Nope, not them. There are no radical elements that have taken the peaceful part of Islam and turned it into something radical. Il principale di questi mezzi è “l’immaginazione”: ogni evento esterno viene immagazzinato nel nostro animo non come mera informazione in memoria ma come un vero e proprio film proiettato, però, solo nelle sale dell’inconscio. During the last couple of months, there has been a lively debate in the media about the difficulties that the Indian Army is facing in attracting suitable material to serve as commissioned officers. This exercise has become almost a ritual, to be aired periodically, without any concrete, practical proposals emerging to address the problem in any durable, tangible manner. Articles are routinely written, many irrelevant and impractical suggestions are made and the matter is forgotten, to be dusted out at some point of time in the future. Often, when a practical, sensible and easily implementable proposal does emerge, it is shot down by politicians and bureaucrats seeking to protect their own turfs. One such proposal made more than two decades back visualized “lateral absorption”
The ABC News GOP debate in New Hampsire produced a serious exchange on foreign policy (transcript). The candidates were asked whether they would continue the Bush policy of nation-building and attempting to spread democracy throughout the world.REP. And we were strongly critical of the policy of the Clinton administration, that did the opposite. And we fell short. Of course, the excuse is that 9/11 changed everything, but the Bush doctrine of preemptive war is not a minor change. This is huge. This is the first time we as a nation accept as our policy that we start the wars. I d

The Muslims from the “Anti Apostasy Movement Alliance” (AAMA) entered the Pasundan Christian Church in the South Bandung area of West Java by force. Although no one was in the church at the time the husband and children of Pastor Cristine Yohanes were forced to hide nearby, according to Open Doors. In 2005, Christians were forced to close their buildings when local authorities said they did not have the proper documents to operate. Thousands Of radical Islamists in Istanbul call for Jihad and the destruction Of Israel over the weekend. This from a country that is trying to get into the E.U. I’m glad that PBS took the time to address the ongoing political contraversy of evolution vs. intelligent design. Unfortunately, it took until minute 28 of a two hour special until I heard an intelligent argument either way (note: argument 2 is found at 42 minutes if one isolated set of fossils is an argument) As a show thats presented as somehow resolving or addressing the issue–this comes up remarkably short. While I the respect folks that produced the documentary and that uphold a robust (or even radical) version of evolution, I think its scientific case as a creation story is intellectually dishonest and dubious. But I hope a more informed national discussion about the issue will yield some helpful intellectual strides.
Intitially, they put gravity in the same category as evolution. (Are you kidding me?) The evidence for or falsifisability of evolution is hardly the level of what gravity is.
Second, they fail to get at the nuance–the third option. In one h
An acknowledged online stalker believed to be the Kingpin of several radical gay activist organizations in Arkansas, is once again being given special treatment by the fascist room owners of an ultra left political chat room.Gay Willie (pictured left) has been cyber stalking myself for years and is rumored to be in love meSuffice it to say, his feelings are not returned in kind.Willie is a rabid, frothing moron with the IQ of a grapefruit and a penchant for latching on to even the most bizarre and paranoid left wing conspiracy theories. The pale skin is the result of rarely getting sunlight, as he spends 12-14 hours a day wrapped inside his little chat room world.By his own admission, Willie has saved between 3,000-4,000 chat room posts over about a decade. I do not need to explain to you the level of psychosis that that reveals. Will does not see this chat room the way normal folks would. It has become the singular focus of his entire world. He spends hours stalking the people within

Being an entrepreneur, I take risks - that's why my advice might not go for everyone. And as I tell my nephews and nieces, "you're married and have kids. I'm only responsible for myself. Huwag ninyo akong gayahin" So, whenever people ask me what's my secret, I say I don't over-think it. With that, following are what I call my "radical"
By: TribuneTop tax haven Monaco has led the small countries of the world in the campaign to heighten awareness of environmental issues since Prince Albert became Sovereign in 2005, and has launched a radical plan of its own to cut carbon emissions. One of the first acts Prince Albert took when succeeding to the throne upon his father's death was to sign the Kyoto Protocol.Along with the USA and Australia, Monaco was one of the few countries not to sign up to the treaty intended to cut greenhouses gases.Included in a campaign by Prince Albert to protect the environment has been an expedition to the Arctic to see for himself how global warming has begun to melt the glaciers, and shortly after his return he started a foundation to study rising sea levels and how to address what he sees as environmental challenges.Monaco travel guide http://www.yourmonaco.com comment that given the Principality's position in the Mediterranean, concern at rising sea levels should come as no surprise.'Ther
Here are some pics to show what the youth of the 'Religion Of peace" are doing in Holland. Twenty six years ago I was in Holland many times while serving in the USAF. I spent a lot of time sight seeing in the beautiful countryside and the local city of Utrecht. I visited Amsterdam a number of times as well. The city was clean, the people were friendly and most spoke good english. But there were a few things I saw that just did not seem to fit in. One I noticed very prominently in Amsterdam was the way the government supported and almost encouraged drug addiction. Most recreational drugs were legal and addicts were not only supplied with drugs and clean needles by the government, but even places to shoot up out of the public eye so they wouldnt be stared at and embarassed. So the signs were already there back then when socialism was just getting a foothold in the country. And today they have a muslim population that could easily become a majority in not too many years. I watched t
So ladies, do you wanna lose 20 lbs in a week? (may lose your teeth as a small side effect… nothin to worry about… that takes a few months) Get them chiseled cheekbones everyone is dying for? (small chance you may literally die) Go for that oh, so stylish Grunge look? Get a free headshot modeling portfolio courtesy of your local police department? (The police may even throw in some free room and board if lucky) and… you will never need to tweaze your eyebrows again (they get burned off by the torch as a bonus).
Boys… Same as above, but, you get a better deal! yep, you can have sex for hours on end because you can’t cum (please be aware that only applies to weekend use, daily use causes the limp dick syndrome… sorry, it can’t all be good)
So check out these great results… WOW, like totally awsome
and, I must add, This lady actually did get her free headshot portfolio! (courtesy of the police department)… but really, 10 years
Two frightening must reads from the American Thinker crystallized what I have feared. The totalitarian and communist impulses of the American left are alive and well in today's modern Democrat Party. Not only are these traits apparent at the grassroots level, but are exhibited by their parties current leaders and presumptive presidential front runner. Truman Roosevelt and Kennedy are spinning in their graves as they see the emerging agenda today's Democrat Party. From the first piece:Over time, the Democrats became more totalitarian in spirit and practiceafter the first wave of the New Left started its takeover of the Party in the1970s and 80s. Half a century ago, true liberal Democrats like Harry Truman toldAmericans the truth about Stalin and the new Cold War -- and were hated for itby the Hard Left. The American Labor movement was dominated by true liberalslike George Meaney, who earned their positions by expelling Communist infiltrators, and in somecases throwing out entire Stalini
For the foreseeable future, there's one issue that will dominate my candidate selection process....their stance on the War on Terror and dealing with Islamic Fundamentalistism (or whatever else you want to call it). I believe this fight (intellectually, ideologically, culturally, militarily...whatever) is the most critical problem we face.Liberals just don't seem to grasp the seriousness of the threat posed by Radical Islamism. Be this because liberals celebrate "diversity" and "multiculturalism" (the radical Islamism is "misunderstood" and "oppressed" arguments), or because liberals love "peace" (the "if we're peaceful, they'll be peaceful too because we won't cause more problems in the world leading them to hate us" arguments) -- as if republicans, independants, conservatives, etc don't value and desire peace as well. Whatever their reasons, liberals consistently take weaker positions when it comes to dealing and confronting Islamic Fundamentalism. Their solution is not to figh
Here's my radical idea for the day: Pull all of our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan and let private armies like Blackwater do all the fighting and dying. Sound crazy? Not as much as you might think. You see, we are talking about an organization that has some 20,000 employees worldwide, has a small fleet of aircraft -including helicopter gunships- lots of armored hum-vees, and more. The company says that it only has 1000 contractors (guards, soldiers, pick your term), in Iraq at the moment. However if we factor in the personnel from the other private security firms, that operate in-country, that figure rises to approximately 100,000; just forty thousand or so less than the number of troops there currently. Sure, that would still be a loss in the war for oil taking place over there, but we could always encourage Haliburton (one of the contractors building military bases in Iraq and also responsible for much of the logistical support that used to be handled by our military), to branc
