I was thinking to myself that this movie has a lot to live up to. This is a classic cartoon and many people who grew up on Speed Racer (including myself) don't want it ruined by the silver screen. Just like the cartoon it follows Speed Racer and his Mach 5 car. The film is loaded with amazing special effects but the script doesn't match up to the visual effects. The story is overdrawn and the movie is almost over stylized. I wouldn't go as far to say that I would have rather seen the cartoon version up on screen, but the film was over plotted and too long.
