One way to get more visibility is to submit your RSS feed to many sites. I found this list and build on that. Like any list out there, a site may change the requirements for submission or even be closed. That being said, the list is very fresh for now. The original list was from September 2007 and it already had a few sites closed. I had to add a few others. It could had been 50 or 40 but ended with 45.

If you have an RSS feed, basically you need to be submitting this everywhere, places like IGoogle where you can submit your own RSS feed and My Yahoo as described below are some of the best ways to get your site exposed. Within days you will see your site already listed on Yahoo, Google and more. You also need to submit your site to all the search engines, this can be done free on many sites. I use Submit Express all the time and over a period of a few days your site will start to appear on the Search engines. For more info on submitting your RSS Feed see my older post, it really works, and is worth the while updating your Blog/Site everyday.
In this post I am not really going to answer which choice is better, but I just want to say that in some cases e-mail subscriptions might be a better choice. Let's face it - most blogs focus on RSS feeds and RSS subscribers a lot deal more, then on e-mail subscriptions. This is probably due to the fact that RSS subscriptions are very convenient and are more and more popular. So why would anyone not want to be an RSS subscriber, but rather prefer to subscribe by e-mail. The answer is that many internet users simply didn't learn yet about RSS feeds and might not know how to subscribe to a feed or use RSS feed readers. This post is especially directed at blogs which deal with non-technical topics. I think it is important to remember that some people do not know everything when it comes to more technologically advanced stuff like RSS feeds and it is important to take that into account if one is in a niche that includes a lot of people non-technologically oriented.

For quite some time I was wondering if it’s possible to enhance the experience of rss subscribers in a non-intrusive and smart way.
As you know rss feed is usually read in an independent software without the reader actually being present on the site. What I had in mind is to find a way to improve the interaction between the blog and the reader. Information about this is scarce and hard to find on the net and that made me write this article after getting it all done.
I first discovered that it is possible to enter any data in the feed, just like you would format the content on the blog itself. That gave interesting possibility to include information about article comments, social bookmarking buttons and additional information. Adding this to a feed greatly increases the usability of your rss feed and blog potential.
I then discovered a plugin that enables this and it is called simply Better Feed. It is certainly a tool for advanced users, and allows you the complete control over
This is something that I found out few days ago. It seems that listing your RSS Feed at the Feed directories can increase traffic too. The purpose of doing this is to get some backlinks from the feed directories. I think this is a one time job that benefits for a long time. It’s just the same as planting a seed and waiting for it to grow.

P/S: It’s true that you’ll get more traffic if you have a unique and original content. But then we don’t know everything. All we can do is just keep on learning and exploring new things. I can see my RSS Feed subscriber number is rising steadily and I am thinking of rewarding my RSS Feed subscribers. My troubles started today early in the morning and coincided with a new post by a new author on AtA - He just happens to blog in word and cut and paste - We all know Blogger and MS Word do not play nicely together. Long story short i got rid of the formatting and called it a night.
