Ford Mustang Roush Stage 3.
Mercedes S500. SEMA 2007: Roush P-51A Mustang lands
Say what you want about all the numerous types of Mustangs, but you have to admit that this is one that deserves the attention. Roush’s latest Mustang, the P-51A, is the most powerful one to date at 510 horsepower and 510 lb-ft torque, and features styling cues based off of the P-51 fighter plane that played a key role in World War II. The new Mustang features completely forged internals including pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft that allows for higher horsepower from a brand new supercharger system. The 3-year/36,000 mile warranty is also retained on this macho muscle car. Visually the P-51A is a stunner, with a Roush body kit, black high flow grille, a silver and green paint scheme replicating the airplane, and red and yellow shields that pay tribute to the 357th Fighters Group. Only 100 will be produced at a price tag just north of $65,000. Seeing how Roush hasn’t had a problem quickly selling out of its previous special edition Mustangs, we’d venture to gu

Roush and Ford develops new performance parts
ROUSH and Ford Racing Technologies have worked together in developing performance parts especially for the Ford GT500.  Autoblog.com recently reported that a Ford Racing GT500 Supercharger, which gives the vehicle 605 horsepower, was unveiled. According to the press release posted in autoblog.com the supercharger increases the engine’s horsepower to 605 with 554 lb.-ft of torque and still maintains a 1-year/12,000 mile drivetrain warranty. The supercharger system also comprises a cold air kit and a Ford Racing ProCal(TM) calibration tool. “Ford developed a magnificent engine with the creation of the 5.4-liter V-8 engine. They are able to pull 500 horsepower which is amazing for a street car and it’s no wonder it has quickly become one of the most sought-after Mustangs,” said Jack Roush. “But we thought we could get a little more out of that engine. In tandem, we were able to pull another 105 horsepower without compromising the warranty and I have no doubt tha

Career Best for Roush in KONI Challenge Season-Finale
Jack Roush, Jr., along with co-drivers Colin Braun and Dean Martin, finished the six-hour KONI Challenge season-finale at Virginia International Raceway in fourth place; a season-high for the team, career-high for Roush, and tantalizingly close to that first podium finish of his fledgling Grand-Am road racing career. The team was the highest-finishing Mustang in the competition this afternoon. This is Roush’s first full season of KONI Challenge competition, and he had the added stress of learning all the racetracks on the circuit as well as how the No. 59 ROUSH Performance Mustang handled on a road course and in race traffic. However, in preparation for this 2007 season, Roush competed in this same event last year to gain valuable seat time, and the benefit of previously knowing the racetrack certainly paid off with lap times that were up to seven seconds quicker than he posted last year. Braun, recently signed to a developmental contract by Roush Fenway Racing, has considerable ex

Roush Ready for “Double Race” of KONI Challenge Season-Finale
The last race of the season always presents unique challenges as teams prepare to gain as many points as possible for a solid finish in the standings, or just to end the racing year on a high note with that one last “hurrah.” However, the Grand-Am KONI Challenge season-finale at Virginia International Raceway presents the teams with a rather unique twist; this race is a six-hour enduro which, effectively, makes it like competing in two races back-to-back with no break. The KONI Challenge normally races to a set number of laps, or a two-and-a-half hour time limit, whichever comes first. “Obviously, a six hour race presents a completely different set of issues that we have to deal with,” stated Jack Roush, Jr., one of the drivers of the No. 59 ROUSH Performance Mustang. “This is like a ‘double race’ so we need to bring additional brakes, fuel, several more sets of tires, and a third driver to help make it through the event. In some regards, th

ROUSH Continues the Homage to Ford History with 428R(TM) Mustang
ROUSH Performance continues to pay tribute to Ford’s legendary history with the 428RTM Mustang, a limited edition pony car which follows in the tremendous success of their 427RTM model introduced last year and which remains in the ROUSH product lineup for the 2008 model year. The ROUSH 428RTM Mustang will arrive at participating Ford dealerships in October 2007. “We are continuing to honor and celebrate the heritage of the proudest models of Ford racing history – the 427, 428 and 429 (engines),” stated Jack Roush. “These are iconic numbers in the Ford world and it is an honor to put them onto ROUSH Mustangs and insert them back into the muscle car world.” “The 427RTM is easily the most popular Mustang model that ROUSH has ever introduced to the market,” said Joe Thompson, ROUSH Performance’s vice president and general manager. “That vehicle will remain the cornerstone of our lineup, but to celebrate Ford’s history of automotive

Four and Done as Engine Woes Sideline Roush Early
Engine troubles plagued Jack Roush, Jr. and the No. 59 ROUSH Performance Mustang virtually the entire time the team was at Miller Motorsports Park. Finally, on lap four of the KONI Challenge race a blown motor put him on the sideline almost before the 2.5-hour race even began. Starting with the practice sessions on Wednesday, and right through the final laps on-track prior to the race this afternoon the team was chasing an overheating problem. They tried multiple solutions, such as changing fans, radiator caps, and just about everything that could be done trackside, but the higher altitude of the desert facility just didn’t allow for a simple solution as the thinner air did not seem to adequately cool down the engines. Roush qualified the No. 59 ROUSH Performance Mustang in 23rd position, and by the end of the first lap had sliced through the field and moved up eight spots into 15th place. However, the motor wasn’t equal to the pace of the driver as two laps later he slowed on t

Roush To Get New Co-Driver at Miller Motorsports Park
Jack Roush, Jr., will be driving the No. 59 ROUSH Performance Mustang at Miller Motorsports Park just as he has all season long in the Grand-Am KONI Challenge. What will be different is his co-driver for the September 14 event. Stepping aside for this race will be Dean Martin who is still feeling the effects of injuries sustained in an accident during the running of Le Grand Prix de Trois-Riveires. Not confident he can drive at 100-percent yet, Martin will assume the role of race strategist and work atop the pit box for this event. He does plan on returning to the cockpit for the season-finale at Virginia International Raceway next month. Filling in as a substitute driver is Ken Wilden who, paired with Martin, drove the No. 52 Rehagen Racing team car to victory at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course earlier this year. Martin explained how Wilden was chosen as the co-driver for this race. “Miller (Motorsports Park) is a track where track experience pays dividends. You really need t

Roush catches up in the fourth place
Jack Roush, Jr.’s finished his first full season of KONI Challenge in the fourth place. He was joined by co-drivers Colin Braun and Dean Martin at Virginia International Raceway. According to reports done by grand-am.com, the team was the highest-finishing Mustang in the competition. Roush had to learn the racetrack on the circuit and learn the performance of the No. 59 ROUSH Performance Mustang on a road course and in race traffic. Although Roush benefited from competing in the same event last year that prepares him in this year’s season. In fact, he beat his previous record for seven more seconds. Braun, a new member of Roush Fenway Racing gained experience in this competition. Reports say that this was Braun’s first time behind the wheel of a GS division car, but this did not stop him from acquiring the skills to maneuver the slower, heavier cars around the track. Braun had a good start but soon got some trouble with his vehicle, but he did not let this stop him. Tire trouble

ROUSH Stage 3 BlackJack Mustang (Production)
We've known for a while that the Stage 3 BlackJack Mustang would be coming soon from ROUSH. Jack Roush himself designed the car and drove the prototype as his personal whip during the 2006 NASCAR season before selling it at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction last month. The BlackJack begins life as a standard Mustang GT, which then gets the ROUSH engine treatment we've all come to know and love. In this case, a ROUSHcharger (a.k.a. supercharger) with a smaller pulley and other engine mods bumps the 4.6L V8 all the way up to 430 horsepower. In terms of aesthetics, the BlackJack stands out with a seven-piece ROUSH body kit that's painted in high-gloss black with a matte black racing stripe running down the center of the vehicle. The "Stage 3" in the name comes from the car's Stage 3 suspension package that replaces the standard Ford fare beneath the skin. Likewise, the interior gets a typical ROUSH makeover, including a carbon fiber dash trim package, white gauge faces and a shor
