Nintendo Quiet On List Of WiiWare Launch Games
With less than a week until the downloadable game platform launches next Monday on Wii, Nintendo has yet to divulge what gamers can look forward to. Final Fantasy: My Life As a King (WiiWare) According to Game|Life, it's looking more and more like Nintendo will only announce a list of launch titles the day of release, on May 12. It would be an anti-climatic debut for sure, but one that's consistent with the low-profile, indie games to be featured on the download service, much like Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store. In March, Nintendo launched the WiiWare service in Japan. Though American launch titles will likely vary (here's hoping the lovable Lost Winds makes the cut), notable releases in Japan included Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As a King ($15), Dr. Mario and Vir

      A Quiet Moment
When my husband and I were newlyweds there were things that we just did not understand. We often poked fun at those old couples who wore the same shirts whenever they went out. We have since learned that when you have been married for several years you begin to think alike more than you realize. There have been several days when I would emerge dressed only to find my hubby already wearing the same t-shirt or the same color shirt! It actually bothers me enough that I go and change. We never plan to wear the same thing, there are just days when it happens. I find it a bit frustrating but mostly humorous.Just like dressing alike there was another thing we have always tended to notice and say it was never going to happen to us because it is such a sad and horrible thing! CURRENCY TRADING SUMMARY U.S. Dollar Trading (USD) was reasonably subdued on Monday in the lead up to the Fed’s rate announcement on Wednesday, with the early session dominated more by profit-taking following Friday’s surge, only to recover somewhat in the New York session as favourable U.S sentiment returned. There was no data released on Monday to cause investors to budge on their positions and eyes are now looking forward to Wednesday with the Fed’s rate announcement and GDP figures sure to cause volatility in the market. Warren Buffet joined in on the recession debate on Monday, suggesting the U.S economy was in recession and that the contraction will be deeper and longer than people expect. Off-day won't be quiet for Mets
...Great article from Mets.com which talks about how an off day is handled by some injured Mets. The article mentions Duaner Sanchez with the following to say:If Sanchez, who still lacks arm strength, can recover quickly enough to pitch three of four times a week -- he isn't there yet -- Smith's chances are reduced. If Sanchez needs work in extended Spring Training or with a Minor League team to restore his stamina, velocity and resilience, Smith's chances improve. That said, Smith will be as interested as anyone in how Sanchez's arm responds to his latest work -- one inning and 23 pitches Monday -- and how the staff responds to Sanchez's tentative plan. "If everything is OK [Tuesday]," Sanchez said, "I'm going to ask them if I can pitch Wednesday. I want to know how my arm will react."CLIC

The Quiet War: Iraq vs. Vietnam
The front-page of yesterday’s Wall Street Journal carried the article by Michael Phillips entitled “The Last Letter Home: When a soldier falls, commanders face a profound task: Accounting for a lost life to the family.” After I read the article (and wiped away tears), the phrase “the quiet war” popped into my head. At first I didn’t know what this could mean. Then it dawned on me that this was a comparison between Iraq today and Vietnam over 30 years ago. Because today it is an all-volunteer army and there are not frequent mass anti-war protests and because of the multitude of news channels (tv, cable, radio, internet), the reality that the U.S. is fighting a war in Iraq and Afghanistan does not seem as much of an everyday realization for the majority of Americ

      Quiet Solitude
I love solitude. Even in my early childhood I liked to go off into another room away from my family and just be alone. Of course I wasn't really alone for I always had the companionship of the angels and spirits of the unseen world. I spent a lot of time back then just listening to them...and I still do so today. My office/meditation area is located back away from the outside noise of the road. Through the window I can look out at pine trees and some native shrubbery. It's in this very quiet setting that I do my writing and have my many connections with the spirit world. One thing though...when I'm writing I have to keep the window blinds closed or I end up sitting in raptured connection with the trees and getting no writing done. Ah...it can be so sweet.Sadly I know that so many people in

American Idols: Unless you’re signing the lyrics, keep those fingers quiet
I don’t know about you but I find it incredibly distracting that so many contestants keep count during their performances by tapping or flexing their fingers around that oversized wireless microphone (I’ll save the phallic innuendo for another day). It’s almost as annoying as the mandatory sweeping crane shot in every Idol performance, where each week they attempt their best Constantine Maroulis (raise the shoulders, drop the chin, stare through the eyebrow ridge, and slowly lift one corner of your mouth into your best smarm). For total cheese, toss in a wink. Why do they all insist on following the same, horrible patterns? Break out, dog. Be unique! We see “entertainment methods” mimicked all the time. In a music video in 1989, they set the camera looking up with the dude looking d

There is so much to be heard if only we will listen. I also added a limited edition of 50 signed and numbered magnets to my e-store. Quiet
Before I opened up my laptop and began clicking the keys over the background noise of the hum of the computer and the twitter of all the processes running in the background, it was very quiet here. Amanda is sprawled in the oversized chair reading her book. Kyle is napping in his room upstairs. Awaking from a little catnap on the loveseat, I whispered to Amanda, "Is your dad sleeping?" She

Electrolux EL6985B Harmony Ultra Quiet Canister Vacuum1. this vacuum is quiet. Doesn't scare our pets and others can still watch TV while its on.2. Light weight, easy to carry.3. Comes with the hepa filter but not the washable one. Easy enough to purchase that separately or if you hate washing an old filter, keep buying the replaceable ones just as you would with the bags.4. I'm GLAD that its not one of those non bag vacuums. No issues with dust flying in your face when you change bags. Bagless stinks..its messy, dusty and another thing to have to clean. Thank goodness this vacuum uses bags.5. Great retractable cord.6. If you have mostly plush carpets, GET AN UPRIGHT vacuum. That's what they are specifically designed for. Canisters are for FLOORS.7. Have flat carpet like Berber? This vacuu

      All Quiet
Gerald critiques an NPR story about the Collins camp's recent Allen smear.Maybe more coverage is coming, but I've been surprised by how little attention Collins' hit job is getting in the Maine media--given how over-the-top the spot is.One wonders: If the Allen team went ahead and designed a fundraising pitch linking Collins to David Duke and Southern Partisan magazine, would the reaction be similarly muted?Just asking.

      Quiet Time
Call it a Quiet Time Out ...for Grown Ups. No, I haven't been bad. (Well, by that I mean I haven't been bumbling around in my human failing any more so than usual). But I have been asking God to speak to my heart, to speak to the issues I have brought before Him. And I think that before I can hear Him, I have to dial down, quiet my heart, and welcome a silent period where I finally have nothing to say, but a lot to learn.I'm not sure if my husband has noticed that lately I am asking fewer questions when we have our morning coffee. I am not even writing much in my journal. Ideas for books and articles, and for new teaching workshops have quieted down to a whisper. I don't have a million ideas running through my mind like I normally do. I especially don't have the physical energy, now that

      My quiet time with Jesus
To You, Father, I offer my sacrifice -- an offering of praise. Strange as I sit here praising you it doesn't seem to be a sacrifice, but a fulfillment of my life with you. I honor You, Father. I thank you and sing praises to You. I give You everything in my life. The good , bad and ugly. Your name is so sweet!

      How to Become Quiet
Whoever searched for this is not at a loss for words, but I am.I don't know how to solve a problem like not being quiet enough. I'm not loud. I don't think. Actually, now that do think about it, everyone that sits by my cube at work has recently started shutting their doors. To get some peace and quiet. I tend to yell a lot at work. You know, the whole "Shouting to Quiet the Thunder" thing...But seriously - someone out there wants to know how to be quiet. I'm going to take a stab at it.1. Time Yourself. Maybe you need to build up a tolerance for it, like learning to hold your breath under water. Start with small increments, like 30 seconds, 1 minute. See how that works.2. Hold your tongue, literally. I know this is sort of a slimy option, but it's very hard to talk while holding your tongu

looking at non traditional composition and quiet vs busy areas in paintings
Paul KleeI thought I'd look at non-traditional composition - where the rule of thirds isn't the key but the painting relies on different compositional methods. in response to an excellent series of posts on the various ways of looking at composition by Katherine (link at end). These alternative considerations or breaking of rules - but making it work - appeal to me more than too heavy a reliance on the rule of thirds. The painting above, by Paul Klee is a 'field' painting' - the composition is overall, the eye travels around enjoying the glowing colour that he creates by juxtaposing complementary colours, subtle greyed greens enhancing the oranges/reds/pinks. Most of the image is composed of the various greens, greeny browns and khakis, with accents of the warm colours. When working this wa

Euro-Pro Shark V1725 Quick-and-Quiet 10-Inch Cordless SweeperThe Euroshark sweeper is one of the best items I have ever bought. As the video shows, the sweeper is very versatile and useful. It works in either carpet or tiles, although I think it works best in carpets. What it DOES pick up:I have been able to pick up glass, nals, screws, paper, hair, dust, chocolate mix and many more things. This sweeper does pick up all of these things. I once broke a wine glass in the my carpet and the sweeper was able to pick up most of the pieces of glass. It allows me to do a quick sweep of the place to try to keep things neat. What it does not pick up:Crumpled up paper (as in the video), but it does pick up bits of paper.Battery:The battery lasts a surprising long time. Days actually. I charge my sweepe

      Quiet on the Blogging Front
11 Days and no blogging,For a blog in its early days it may seem that I have given up on blogging but fear no that is not the case. The only gaming done recently has been catch-up gaming finishing and playing more of games that should have been played already and are occupying my "to play more of" pile for far to long.Downloaded the demo for Bizzare Creations "The Club" recently and having played through the prison level once I am yet to be impressed. I have only played it once though and will have to give it another chance but initial impressions are that this will be the second game from Bizzare that I'm disappointed by the first being their second Xbox Live Arcade title Boom Boom Rocket. The only part of the demo i enjoyed was the ridiculous premise and the videos through which it is tol

      A Quiet Comparison
From: A Day at a Time, Jan. 12: "When I sit quietly and compare my life today with the way it used to be, the difference is almost beyond belief ."I will start by saying that I find little resemblance to the BP (before program) me and the AP (after Program) me. Simply put, I live differently, react to life's challenges differently and care differently. I accept myself and others differently. My relationships with others and with Hashem (G-d) are totally different than they were before I began working the Program. If someone would have told me way back then that all this was possible, I don't think I would have believed them. I can honestly say that I bless the day when I was introduced to the 12 steps, and I am grateful that they have changed my life in such monumental ways.Perhaps it
