Alcor, el desarrollador de Quicksilver, menciona que adoptarán un modelo open source y solamente para Leopard cuando se lance la nueva versión. Al parecer la empresa quiere poner parches al programa más rápido, y actualizaciones en menor tiempo. Probablemente nada ocurrirá hasta que se lance Leopard en Octubre. Quicksilver ofrece uno de los mejores lanzadores de programas en el mercado al crear un catálogo de aplicaciones más usadas que aparecen y desaparecen cuando las necesites en la pantalla.

Ya hemos visto infinidad de launchers en el pasado, como: Slickrun, Launchy, Runit, pero todos eran simples launchers…
Ahora, Skylight es algo completamente diferente, pues se asemeja más a las características avanzadas que Quicksilver ofrece, además de ofrecer una interfaz nueva y mejor realizada.
Al igual que launchy, una vez instalado Skylight, lo invocaremos con ALT-Space. Luego, escribimos lo que queremos acceder, ya sean favoritos, programas, folders, páginas web, etc. Al parecer, como utiliza.
Esta es una versión “temprana” del programa aún, por lo que aún no nos deja personalizar que folders escaneará (solo busca el menú de inicio, y el folder de usuario). Pero claro, podemos superar este problema, agregando atajos a un folder dentro de nuestro directorio personal, con los folders más utilizados. Además, Skylight aún no busca archivos multimedia, pues será agregado cuando Skylight ofrezca soporte de filtros y demás.

Conosco da molto tempo Launchy e mi ero ripromesso di provarlo, solo che mi sono praticamente scordato, ma grazie ad una delle solite chiacchierate pomeridiane con il nostro lettore Massimo, me l’ha praticamente risegnalato.
Launchy è una piccola utility gratuita per trovare e lanciare file ed applicazioni nel nostro pc. Detto così non fa effetto, ma vi assicuro che è uno dei programmi più utili che abbia mai avuto nel pc. Vi allego l’articolo scritto da Massimo su Spooky:
