quick update on the challenge :)
I was talking to Liz Minichiello and gave her the links to your 'my day' posts - she was really interested. :>)She's looking to produce something with a whole lot of different peoples 'day' and could possibly contact some of you in the future for permission to use your work. I can't say too much about her plans but it involves potential prestigious exposure - she hadn't explained this at the meeting - simply asked us to have a go and send her the results - but has now gone into more detail. So .... if you want your work to be considered you need to stick to the brief (if you want to do it purely for fun and not stick to it, that's fine) Her rectangles are 10cm wide x 6cm deep and the sequence needs to be of 12 of these in the format of my original 'my day' post.so why not go for it?.

      Quick Update
First of all, I'm going to let the current poll run for another week so more people will have an opportunity to vote. Also, I know I haven't been posting very much here recently, but I plan on changing that as soon as I can get through Thursday. My Exit Presentation is tomorrow, which basically determines whether or not I receive my Certification in Catechetics. Then, on Thursday, I have to give my 60-minute catechesis using the Ecclesial Method. Please pray for me.If you've asked me a question or sent me an email within the past few weeks (or, in the case of seraphim, within the past few months), please know that I am sorry for not being able to help you sooner and that I haven't forgotten about you. Once Friday rolls around, I'll be able to pay more attention to my blog.Thank you for you

None of these pictures are of the actual things in my life, but my new car is a 2CV, pictures soon I promise. Quick update on my Dad
Just a quick update for folks who read my blog but aren't connected to me in other ways, and might be wondering a) how my Dad is doing, and/or b) why I haven't been posting as much lately.Dad's strength has been failing daily, and it's clear that he doesn't have too much time left. He sleeps all but 1-2 hours/day now. He's ready to go. Hospice caregivers, and the many people who love my Dad and Mom, have been wonderful. I've been down here (near Charlotte, NC) with Dad and Mom and other family and friends for the past 2 1/2 weeks, and I'm planning to stay for as long as I need to. It's been an immeasurable gift to be able to be here at this time, to be with Dad and laugh with him and hold him so much, and to laugh and cry with and help support Mom and my brother. The 2002 Clos Rougeard Saumur "Breze" that I gave a bad review in my post improved dramatically over a night in the fridge. Last night it was clean, crisp with some light oak notes. Reminded me of a killer Meursault. I loved it. I still have some for night three which will be tonight. If you have any of these let them sleep for ten years minimum. It is amazing what a night in the fridge will do to a structured disjointed white wine.

Meanwhile the blog went down several times on Saturday, I experienced a nervous breakdown during which I also punched my poor laptop almost destroying it completely... the good thing is that I ended up buying a new one which made me realize how badly I needed it. Adoption #2- Quick update on Baby Bug

She's doing great!Baby Bug has been eating 2-4 oz. per feeding, although all day yesterday and last night she seemed to be in snacking mode...eating 2 oz. every 2 hours. I'm hopeful that she's gaining weight. If we have her still, next Thursday we'll take her in to our pediatrician for a follow-up appointment to find out. She's really a mellow baby. She only cries when she's hungry. Other than that, she's content to sleep in her bassinet, on our chests, our in our arms (we like to hold her a lot).Baby Bug has her periods of being fully awake where she's alert and curious. She's already begun turning her head towards us at the sound of our voices. And if Snuggle Bug gets near her, she turns to look at him too. Now, for privacy's sake, I can't show you a picture of Baby Bug in all her cuteness, but I wanted to at least show you her beautiful dark hair! She's got so much of it that I was able to put in a tiny pink haircl

There is something to be said about concrete, basically I come to accept that concrete and my size 13 feet don't mix well. Today I am waiting for my 3pm 1hr massage, I can't wait. I hope for a speedy recovery and I am looking forward to a easy 9 mile trail run this Saturday, followed by a 18-20 mile road run in Huntington beach on Sunday. My plan is to train on most of the Surf City Marathon Course.

The paper I turned in this morning was the midterm for my history test. We had a 60 question multiple choice test, then a 1200 page take-home paper (we had a week to write it). I just barely got an "A" and I don't know how this paper I just turned in is. When I printed it, I looked over it and saw some things I would've liked to change, but I didn't have time. Anyway, that's done and my teacher said by next Friday we should get them back. The next paper that's due is due Monday (at least I've got the weekend) for literature. It is supposed to be preparation for our midterm paper in there. It's a response to one of the pieces we've read and I know which piece I want to write on, but I don't quite know how to write the paper. I'm talking to my teacher about that this afternoon. I remixed a couple of the newer tracks on my music page, The Bludgeoning had too much high end and it finally bugged me enough to fix it. Regular computer speakers do not make the best monitors, so I've realized I've gotta ease off bumping up those higher frequencies. The other problem was with I'm Glad I'm Not Poo, It cut off pretty abruptly and apparently when you export a session from Ardour it's better to leave an empty measure at the beginning of the song. It's all about learning the tools... Next project is to mix down The Love Missiles 4-track recordings. I've done this once before but I believe I wasn't a big fan of how they turned out, so I'm gonna do it again. Now that's dedication.

It’s been a busy few days. We’ve had a great weekend and the recovery period is going well. Eva’s parents arrived on Thursday evening and so I arranged to go for a game of tennis with her Dad. He used to play a lot, I was still suffering from my run and a lack of tennis for ten years. Okay, enough of the excuses, he was much better even taking his back surgery and 30 extra years into the equation. I have to start practising again. They left on Saturday to head on towards France which gave us the opportunity to attend a post wedding party of two friends here in Basel. They just threw up a table, a BBQ and beer keg on the public walkway along by the Rhein. I thought to myself, it’ll be only a few minutes before we’re reported/arrested/deported or all of the above. But we were there (and all over the place) until three on Sunday morning. Much beer and merriment was had by all. Hence the quiet couch-bound day on Sunday. This week is interesting as the first of

After my race in Big Bear, I was feeling fairly confident on my race pace strategy. However, I still felt a nagging knee pain especially going down hill. I sent in my registration for the Camp Pendleton Tri, and started to train on my bike again. Then on June 20th I received my check back from the race organizer stating that the race has been closed. That really put me through a tail spin, because my strategy was to run a super fast 10K, recover then race the camp Pendleton and beat my time from last year. End result I canceled both races and decided to rest the knee and take a mini vacation in Las Vegas. I don’t remember the last time I took off 10 days without any activity. After Vegas my focus was on ramping up a two workshop for work, and getting ready for the Wild West relay in Colorado. We had a team of 6 runners from the club, 2 dropped out, and our team captain couldn’t join because of work obligations. Which left us with kinda unorganized, to make a long story short c

I apologize for the recent drought of new posts. I was out of town for most of last week attending a work event at the Seascape Resort in Monterey Bay. With family in town visiting me this week, I haven't had much time to catch up on my favorite blogs, much less add to my own. I definitely hope to get back into the swing of things next week with some new blog entries. However, I did want to pass along some unfortunate news coming out of the Chicago food scene. Grant Achatz, executive chef of Alinea, announced that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth. Achatz, who worked under the tutelage of Thomas Keller at The French Laundry, opened his restaurant two years ago to much acclaim, serving up unique and innovative dishes such as his "PB&J", the essence of the sandwich compressed into a single bite. Achatz is undergoing chemotherapy treatment which could potentially affect his sense of taste. Hopefully the treatment will go well and he will have a spee

We left North Carolina early this morning. We're now in beautiful Charleston, S.C. It's been a busy few days so far. We went boating on the Nuese and Trent Rivers in New Bern, N.C., spent time with family and toured historic downtown. Already in Charleston, we've been on a carriage tour, visited the South Carolina Aquarium (Zane loved it) and ate dinner at a seafood restaurant on Market Street, near the Slave Market. I'll do a full update soon, with photos.Rothfamilyadventures.com

      Quick Update
Well it was a busy Wednesday so I only have a few minutes to update you.I had a chat with a potential client today and I hope we've been able to provide some direction and support for her. The challenge in new clients (one of the challenges I should say) is helping them without doing things for them. I cannot figure out what a business marketing plan should be nor the direction for them to take. I can provide feedback and resources. However there is a tendency to provide consulting...and that should not be free. I have a challenge in that area as well. Most small business owners are simply self-employed...they aren't business owners at all. There is a huge difference between the self-employed and a small business owner. Anyone who tells you they are the same thing is full of horse manure and you can tell them I said that.A business owner spends time outside of his/her business, consistently evaluates their business from a non-bias perspective and can easily hand the reigns over to a m

Missing Child Maddie: I have tried to help find Maddie by carrying her story in my blog.  Why did I feel sorry? Everyone has a point of connection, and the fact that she shares her birthday with my son, just struck a chord. Summer Holidays for Miti: Yes we are busy.  Now that my son is at home, I have become more relaxed, laid back.  We try to do things together.  I have now discovered a new passion for dancing in Miti.  Both of us like techno and house. So its digging in the sand, biking, at the pool, cartoons.  Its pretty idyllic at the moment.  But like my son says.. We have 70 days more to go through..;)  Yes he is counting.. I am not.. Immigration Bill:  The day the proposal was announced, the first thought was why are we even trying to do everything legally?  We should have just come on a holiday, and stayed behind..  The illegals have it better. [That I guess was natural envy that another demographic is going to benefit faster.]  A few days later I was chuckling.  I

It’s been over a week since I’ve updated – the reason being I’ve been working like a dog! 14-hour days here people just trying to pull everything together and make some money. Mild success.Just when you get to a place where you feel comfortable in what you are doing something happens to jar your confidence. Nothing major – but I’ve been putting out small fires all week. All great learning experiences.Another fire to put out this morning. Just lost a buyer. Job unstable. Not buying a house. I understand – but I need that money!Things will work out – they usually do.

I spent most of the day traveling back to the states so there's not a great deal to report. The coolest part of the day was that I ran into the property management client in the airport check-in line and then we sat across the aisle from each other on the plane. And finally we sat next to each other on the shuttle bus back to our cars after the flight. How funny is that?! It's pretty cool.I also had breakfast with the other potential client this morning and then saw him at the Cozumel airport. The day was a whirlwind of travel though and I'm a bit beat. We left the hotel around 9:30am and arrived at our baggage claim in Colorado about 4pm.By the time I dropped off some folks, drove home and unpacked it was about 6pm. I'm tired! :) But in a fantastic way. The trip was absolutely wonderful and I would've been overjoyed to stay another few days! Island living has a powerful effect on my soul. I'm calm, relaxed and content. This is just a recap post. Here are a few things I'll be worki

Nothing much has been going on today. The Hubs has been off the past 2 days and goes back to work tomorrow. He’s been mopey and lazy and well, I have 4 kids and don’t need another, thankyouverymuch. Abby got her stitches out this morning. She didn’t even flinch. The doctor even gave me the stitches to take home as a keepsake. I was like, dude, are you serious??? He stuck them in between 2 pieces of scotch tape. I guess he was serious. The 2 older kids have state testing all week so they don’t have any homework. I love it. I wish they didn’t make them do homework. It sure would make my life a lot easier. Tonight is American Idol. We’ll get to see Blake “beatbox” his way through a song, and Melinda look so “shocked” and “amazed” when the judge praise her. Like she doesn’t know she’s good. I don’t buy it. Oh yeah…America? Please stop voting for Sanjaya. Thanks.

I think the Viewbar will be released April 1st. (No this is not an early April fools day joke. Though that would be pretty funny if Agloco did that. Well probably not. ) There it is. Just in case My second guess is May 1st. And in case that is wrong sometime in the near future. Maybe I am psychic

It's been a while since I've written anything of note here. Been rather busy the past couple of weeks and it didn't help that I completely forgot I had to serve the nation. Hence I'm in the middle of my reservist training with little, close to no access to the internet. My in-camp training should last till the end of next week and hopefully I'm able to catch up on the news of the past couple of weeks.NSFGNo idea what the f**k is going on here. Emails have not been replied to and I've not received a statement since December. The only good news here is that they have paid up for the January withdrawals. Otherwise, communication has been piss poor.Infinity SharesIS has posted a positive overall for the month of January. I will get around to posting the updates in the related entry when time permits.Hyip GamesSince the middle of last year, I've been dabbling with long term games, paying anything from 0.5% - 3% on a daily basis. Quick summary about today since I'm bowled under at the moment with other work. I met with Anita Govan over a coffee and we had a fabulous chat about her work, her life and things she is working on right now. I taped the interview and took few notes, mainly because it felt more like two people talking than an actual interview. She's a fascinating and inspirational person, which I hope the final article will show. Look out for the published article in the spring issue of The Scruffy Dog Review . By the way, we're still looking for submissions of fiction and poetry. Check out the website for more information. My blog template broke so I uploaded a new one - here it is if you haven't seen it already. It was only meant as a holding site, but I like it so much I think I'll keep it. Several people have said they are having problems viewing the page and/or leaving comments. Please email me at colin@colingalbraith.co.uk if you have this problem so I can try and get it sorted. Sorry that the support group information isn't up yet. Life has just been really busy. I think I stay busy to avoid reality. The problem is that at the end of the day, I am so worn out that all I want to do is shut myself off from the world and sleep. Plus, this silly cold just doesn't want to go away. I'm starting to feel better, but am still really stuffy and stiff. Boys are doing well. Doodles

Don't worry, I'm still here. I've been playing a lot of championship manager to take my mind off things.... doing very well actually, but then I am managing Man Utd.... which might sound easy but is pretty tough due to the wieght of expectation. The funeral is on Wednesday. It sounds as if it is going to be a pretty traditional affair. Not sure how I will cope. The last time I went to a family funeral it was my Gran's... I was 11.... and I had to be lead from the church because I cried so much. But I am pleased that it is going to be a burial in the village church. It's a pretty church, fairly puritan, white washed walls and the heads chopped off of the statues, but it is a church that I grew up with. Though my memories of the place are fairly scant, my family not really being into churchy stuff. In fact I am not even sure if my dad believed in god. Certainly whenever I broached the topic he was fairly condemning of the whole organised religion thing. But then I like to think of h
