Smashing Pumpkins have reassured fans they have no plans to quit - despite revealing they have recorded their last album. In a recent interview, drummer Jimmy Chamberlain suggested the band's 2007 comeback album Zeigeist would be their last.
After fans' desperate protests, Chamberlain has spoken out again, to insist the band would carry on performing and recording - they just wouldn't release anything in an album format.
Chamberlain says, "The Smashing Pumpkins, will continue to write, record, release, and perform as long as we are able. I painted the entire background before painting the gourds. I think it was a bit easier that way but with such simple shapes that makes sense. Austin Texas holds a reputation for being the live music capital of the world. Unfortunately, they also hold a reputation for having a strict noise ordinance that make shows start earlier than anticipated.
Tonight was the night I finally had the opportunity to see one of my all-time favorite bands, Smashing Pumpkins. I was off work a couple hours early to make the trek to the show. The drive from where I was to The Backyard took a little over half an hour. We were in the venue parking lot a quarter ’til 10. To my disappointment, the show was nearing an end. We did get to see them for about half an hour but missed the heart of the show.
Fortunately, I did see them perform live. Maybe I didn’t get the whole shebang, but I got something. While we were pulling into the parking lot, Cherub Rock was playing. I feel like tons of bands do this. Special versions for different locations. While it may be unfair to consumers and fans, no need to single out Smashing Pumpkins. It sucks but so is the current state of the music business. Don’t hate on Billy when you are just going to download the album and all the bonus tracks for free.
Trent Reznor is obviously the opposite. It would be nice for all artists to act this way but chances aren'’t too good.

We had so much fun painting pumpkins this year. Becca painted for a long time before she tried to eat the paint brush!Man, we are serious about our painting...look at that concentration.Mara put the cutest little smiley face on hers.Oh and I almost forgot, here's a picture of the finished product.....Now, as long as it doesn't rain and wash off all of the washable paint, we're good!

I found this pumpkin carving site, and was just stunned at the talent. You’ve got to see the full selection for yourself. It just wouldn’t be Halloween unless you did. I’ve linked several different pages at the site, because there are just so many wonderful things to see I wouldn’t want you to miss any of them. The patterns are difficulty level rated, and honestly… I’ve just not seen another site as great. I blog in awe of the talent at this site.
After browsing the site, I’m thinking of all the possibilities. Watermelons can be carved, big ole cantaloupes and honeydews… eggplants. A person could really frac up their buffet table with some of these wonderful ideas.

This is the giant pumpkin I won at a recent Halloween party. It is huge. It is whopping. Consequently it lives outside and greets people as they enter our apartment building. And yes, it is thicker than the tree trunk you see in the background.
How do you win such a pumpkin? You guess its precise weight. It was actually pretty easy. I picked up the pumpkin and realized it weighed nearly the same as my two year old little man - 37 pounds!
I suppose I now ought to plan some pumpkin meals.

Yesterday we went to pick some pumpkins, I think the girls did not grasp the the concept because they saw the first pumpkin and want it to leave. At the end we pick up a huge one and a couple a little ones for the girls, we also grab a tiny one for the man of the house ... Cole.
I’ve been visiting ExtremePumpkins.com off and on for a few years. Tom Nardone takes the art of pumpkin carving, simplifies it, adds power tools, and a lot of thinking outside of the box and really does some wonderful work on pumpkins. He knows a bit of danger = fun. You’ve probably seen his work too in one of those emails that gets forwarded all over the place that just clog your inbox. It probably had the subject line of “Check out these pumpkins” or “These are really cool pumpkins” or something along those lines. If you’ve seen pictures of any crazy or insanely carved pumpkins, you’ve seen this guy’s work.
He also knows that using stencils and pumpkin carving kits are for sissys. I know that not everyone is an artist, but you don’t have to be to carve a cool pumpkin. Stencils, while neat, do not yield a unique pumpkin.

Yesterday I was a parent volunteer on Ryan's first Kindergarten field trip. I even volunteered to drive three of his friends with us, and we spent the day at the Corn Maize. It was great! It was windy (everyday in Lubbock is windy), and dusty (everyday in Lubbock is dusty); but it was a great, great, great time. We got lost in the corn maze for a hour, we ate hamburgers, looked at turkeys, took a hayride, and finally got to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.I'm so happy that I have a job that allows me the opportunity to go on field trips.

Massachusetts moonbat Governor Deval Patrick ran on the promise of cutting the property tax burden on the citizens of Massachusetts. After his election he said he couldn’t cut any programs because they were necessary programs, so he planned on raising other taxes to compensate for the property tax cut, which never came.
So, with all those necessary programs that couldn’t be cut, let’s look at an example of how Massachusetts is spending taxpayer money. Although I live in New Hampshire, I work in Massachusetts and pay their state income tax, so this is also my money at work here.
Hundreds of Attorney General Martha Coakley’s employees turned out for an on-the-clock, (my emphasis), pumpkin carving presentation at the State House yesterday, taking two hours out of the work day to view a Power Point presentation of their Jack-O-Lantern creations.

Fall brings many wonderful things in its wake. From the leaves tinged with color, to the cool, crisp feeling in the air, fall is an enchanting season for all. It is all capped off, of course, with the Halloween festivities at the end of October as little goblins and ghosts roam around in search of candy, only to later collapse in a sugar crash of epic proportions. The next day they carefully document the haul and report it to their friends at school. The most fruitful among them are given a certain measure of jealous respect.
For many, the greatest memories of Halloween are not the candy or absurd costumes, but the traditional carving of the pumpkin. The carving of the pumpkin is a timeless and storied tradition. I still remember my first pumpkin, a big, lumpy, garish specimen. I scooped seemingly forever and then awkwardly and clumsily carved something that vaguely looked like a face on the front.
But I was always confused where all of the left over pumpkins would go. Every October,

Driving around lately I have not seen the signs up for pumpkin picking yet. Matter of fact, I have not seen a single pumpkin anywhere! Not in the supermarket, corner fruit & veggie stand etc. So I did a little research and found that there is a great pumpkin shortage:

The 20-year-old man who died in Vancouver last week did not die from a crowd-surfing or mosh-pit-related injury, as was expected. The coroner's office found no trauma during their autopsy and will have to wait for toxicology reports to come back to determine the cause of death.

Vancouver police spokesman Const. Howard Chow said a group of young men dragged the victim out of the mosh pit toward security Monday night.
The victim, who was from Richmond, B.C., was taken to hospital, where he later died, police said Tuesday night.

I first heard this song when I was 11, I fell in love with it immediately. Its one of those classics by Smashing Pumpkins, and one that I never get tired of. This song is timeless to me. It took me a while to find it again because this song is hardly available online.
I enjoy this song for its lyrics and melodies. It is a mellow song with a subtle boldness to it. It makes you want to stop what you are doing and just listen. Its a good track to drive to too. :D The lyrics are a little hard to understand, but you can get the idea that the song is about a relationship. Kind of a deep message.

You got to love the great guitar work from their songs throughout the years, but holy Moses you can tell by the interview that the members of the group aren't hungry at all anymore. Another happening today I could not go to was the speech hold Mona Sahlin, president for the Swedish socialdemocrats. She hold that speech in a suburb, called Fittja.
At the same time, the Swedish Prime Minister, and leader for the right wings: Fredrik Reinfeldt, hold a speech an a trendy higher middle class area, Vaxholm.
These to speech are said to be the start for the autumn season in Swedish politics.
I think that alreday from this start, the choice of place to gather and hold the speech, says something important about what the two politicians stand for.
