Have you heard of Naked Pumpkin Run? Actually it is a group of wacky people wearing carved pumpkins over their screwed-up heads running naked in public. According to its official site, it says to be a community arts project as scores of strapping young lads and lasses take to the streets in a fine blend of artistry, harmless debauchery, and most importantly nudity! Come October 31st, 2008, you can
announce a special Halloween treat. Template #10 is a spooky design. However, it is well suited to all year use thanks to the Adsense optimisation and clean design. It is coded in Zelune, PHProxy and CGI Proxy in valid XHTML/CSS. It is easy to customise, using the config file in all three versions.

Yesterday for the first time ever I tried pulling all of Elle's hair back into a ponytail. She stood so nice and still as I brushed her hair back and secured it with a rubber band. That ponytail was really something to behold. It was a small cluster of gently cascading golden red curls. Beautiful. Then she turned around. And her face looked like a pumpkin.Sigh. My poor giant headed girl.
Almost all parts of the pumpkin can be used for cooking. And because it is loaded with vitamins and other nutrients..it is a healthy vegetable. White Pumpkin is called Boodida Gummidi in Telugu, Pushanikai in Tamil and Peta in Hindi. Its not very often that we cook with this. Especially in my in-laws place, this is never included. But amma came across a paratha thats made with white pumpkin with millet and wheat flour. It looked very interesting. When Amma asked what millet to use, I suggested Korra Biyamu, which is also referred as Millet. Athamma has this in stock as this is quite commonly prepared in their native place. This is common man's rice and moreover supposed to be very healthy! Actually when I searched the web for information, I couldn't find any. Guess I may not have spelled properly. Athamma ensures who ever comes from their native, gets a bag for her. People with diabetics can have this as its more suited for them. A
"It's 8pm and I fancy something to nibble on.... Mmmmmm, what shall I have?"How many times do you have that munchie feeling during the evening? For me, it is almost every evening...lol! Tonight being no exception. One of my favourite snacks is Roasted Pumpkin Seeds. The recipe for this is quite simple, so I will not send you to sleep with countless photographs. All you need is some Olive Oil, salt and a bag of Pumpkin Seeds. I like a bit of a kick to pumpkin seeds, so I have substituted Olive Oil with Chilli Oil and I also use some chilli flakes. Both of these items are optional. The first step it to cover a baking tray with foil. Then spread the pumpkin seeds over the foil base. Lightly drizzle some olive oil (chilli oil) over the seeds, then season with salt (and chilli flakes if desired).
Soups with anything but a broth base are a rarity in Chinese and Japanese households, but corn soups and pumpkin soups—favored Western imports—are the exception. (And any orange-fleshed squash might be called a "pumpkin.") Here, food editor Lillian Chou combines the two and gives them a boost of bracing freshness with lemongrass and cilantro; the result is velvety and light. Active time: 30 min Start to finish: 45 min Servings: Makes 8 servings Ingredients1 fresh lemongrass stalk, root end trimmed and 1 or 2 outer layers discarded1 large onion, chopped2 tablespoons unsalted butter2 tablespoons olive oil1 3/4 pounds kabocha or butternut squash, peeled, seeded, and cut into 1-in

Lindsay Lohan did the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen her do. She picked a pumpkin for Halloween like a ordinary person. I think I need to lie down. The 21-year-old, who has been enjoying an extended stay at an Cirque Lodge rehab clinic in Sundance, Utah, following her arrest this summer, ventured out to a pumpkin patch in nearby Orem on Monday. "She seems happier," one local, who has seen La Lohan out and about in the area, tells OK!. "I think a lot of people around here are really pushing for her to get better. So the pumpkin isn’t filled with booze or cocaine or anything? No? Lindsay Lohan just wants it for ornamental purposes as is normal for the fall time? I’m freaking out here, man. I have to be in some sort of alternate dimension. Nothing makes sense anymore. Next you’ll tell me
For Halloween I picked up a small pumpkin for Eva. We also got a bigger one for the front steps from our friend Mike. We left it out for a very long time, well past freshness. As it started to decompose I put it on the snow and off the steps. The snow is gone [...]

One of the simple pleasures of this festive season is cooking up a batch of pumpkin banana pudding! This quick dessert works well as a kinda offbeat addition to your Holiday dinner menu. It's also easy enough to come up with your own variations, so let's strap on our aprons and give this recipe a spin!Ingredients:
(Posted by Patrick Sullivan Jr.) WebMD published an article for Men's Health called, "The 10 Best Foods You Aren't Eating". Pretty cool list of exotic foods I'm going to try and add to my diet. And of course, since I'm such a magnesium zealot, this note about pumpkin seeds really jumped out at me: 10. Pumpkin seeds These jack-o'-lantern waste products are the most nutritious part of the pumpkin. Why they're healthy: Downing pumpkin seeds is the easiest way to consume more magnesium. That's important because French researchers recently determined that men with the highest levels of magnesium in their blood have a 40 percent lower risk of early death than those with the lowest levels. And on average, men consume 353 mg of the mineral daily, well under the 420 mg minimum recommended
Ingredients :1 1/2 cups 1% milk4 large eggs3/4 cup maple syrup (see Ingredient note)3/4 cup canned unseasoned pumpkin puree1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg1/4 teaspoon salt3 tablespoons whipped cream1/4 cup chopped crystallized ginger1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Put a kettle of water on to heat for the water bath. Line a roasting pan with a folded kitchen towel.2. Heat milk over low heat in a small saucepan until barely steaming but not boiling.3. Whisk eggs and syrup in a large bowl until smooth. Gently whisk in the warm milk (a little bit at a time so the eggs don t cook). Add pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; whisk until blended.4. Divide the mixture among six 6-ounce (3/4-cup) custard cups. Skim foam from the surface. Place custard cups in the prepared roasting pan. Pour enough boiling water into the pan to come halfway up the sides of the custard cups. Place the pan in the oven and bake, uncovered, until custards are just set but still quiver in the center
or My Favorite Thing My Wife Makes For Me That I Eat Too Much Of Too Quickly. But that title as too long, I thought.
I do most of the cooking around hte house, but my wife does make a couple of things, and I let her. I’m not about to start making pumpkin bars and have her decide not to do them anymore… I’m a lot of things, but stupid isn’t one of them.
The pumpkin bars themselves are from my wife’s grandmother, and they’re good, but my wife made them considerably better… by using butter! One truism I’ve discovered in life is that just about anything can be improved by adding one of two things: bacon and/or butter. Bacon in pumpkin bars wouldn’t quite fly, but these bars are right in the butter-improving zone.
The original recipe called for vegetable oil, but we were out, so she substituted, wisely, melted butter instead. Yum! The old recipe was fine, this and a few other slight changes really made a difference. Before thi
I got this recipe free from a store where I regularly shop. I wanted to make it this year for Thanksgiving but we already have 3 pies being made and unless we have 12 more people show up unannounced at our door we are going to have far too much dessert leftover! I'm tucking it away on my site until next year. And perhaps I'll host a dinner for 30 people so I can make the 5 pies, 2
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! And this morning as I sit here and sip my coffee, gearing up for a busy day of baking pies and desserts, making my gravy (did you check out my recipe for make ahead gravy?) and doing the chopping and dicing for the stuffing, I realize that I intended to post a lot of Thanksgiving recipes here for you over the past few days but the unexpected death of my dear Grandmother
Sounds kinda like a crazy rock song doesn't it... or a strange version of Cinderella... or an odd way to play Twister... ;-)It's actually just a simple. little. delicious. pie.I've been wracking my brain to figure out exactly what pie I wanted to make this Thanksgiving. I will make a Libby's traditional pumpkin pie. You just can't beat tradition sometimes folks. And I really LOVE a Libby's pie... but you know me... I want to try something new... something different! So last weekend, I made a test run on a simple, easy, one-bowl pie recipe (crust and all!) I love this pie because it creates it's own crust! For us gluten-freebies, anything to make crust-making easier, is completely worth it! Also, with the exception of one ingredient, the pie is naturally gluten-free. And, to make it even easier, most of the ingredients are pantry friendly! You probably have all of them right now just waiting to be used! It's light and cozy. Simple and slightly sweet. I loved this pie cold, bu
So, here's another good pumpkin recipe: Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies! It's an easy recipe and the picturesque cookies have a wonderful golden color. I used Craisins instead of raisins, which I often do because I like Craisins more. I would've liked the pumpkin flavor to be more pronounced but I'm still sure this will be a crowd pleaser.
Hey, it's Thanksgiving and I love pumpkin cakes, breads, and rolls. I don't like pumpkin pie though. For me, it's the texture. Pumpkin pie is like a wet custard and it's usually ultra sweet as well. For a nice and easy quickbread recipe, try this Pumpkin Cranberry Bread. I didn't have two 9x5 loaf pans so I used one 9x5 loaf pan and one 8x8 square glass baking dish. I removed the 8x8 baking dish from the oven at 40 minutes and the loaf pan at 50 minutes. Both came out the same. Yum.Also, the dough looks strong enough to bake free form to make scones. If you try that, let me know how it comes out!
As we drift into longer and more chillier nights, and await the first snow, our tongues and minds crave for something hot, comforting and tantalizing. And with Thanksgiving round the corner, we are also looking for recipes that would fit the occasion. And this is one time of the year when you cannot ignore pumpkins, which are mainly cultivated in western hemisphere, and are commonly found in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and India. Honestly, I haven't been a great fan of using this in my recipes, maybe because I haven't developed the taste for it. But 3 days ago I tried the pumpkin soup at my cafe and the flavor struck a chord. It was creamy, rich, a bit of sweet with a touch of onions and savored with italian herbs. And the mere look of the bisque was inviting and soothing at the same time. So I thought I have to share this with my other readers who might have shied away from pumpkin recipes just like me and would never realize how wonderful this recipe could be! The
Last year I made a real pumpkin pie. Not from a can, but from a real pumpkin. It was something that I hoped to do again this year, I even grew small sweet pumpkins in my garden lookig forward to those pumpkin pies. Unfortunately something got ahold of my poor little pumpkins and killed them off before I could save them. Still, eating a real pumpkin pie is something so delicious that everyone should try at least once. You will never be able to look at the canned stuff or another frozen store bought pie again.
To begin you will want to buy a pie pumpkin. They are smaller and sweeter than the pumpkins sold for Jack O’Lanterns at Halloween, generally only about 8 inches in diameter. Be sure when you are buying your pumpkin that you get one made for pies. Take your pumpkin and cut it in half down the center. This makes it easier to scoop out all of the seeds and the stringy mess that is inside. Be sure to save the seeds for roasted pumpkin seeds later!

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Lasagna is an excellent vegetarian fall casserole. It also makes a beautiful presentation and is relatively easy to prepare. My good friend John emailed this recipe to me. At first I kind of wrinkled my nose... pumpkin? In lasagna? That didn't sound too appetizing, at least not to my "very-slowly-evolving-frugal-foodie" palate. Then, I thought... Hey, why not? I mean heck, I had pumpkin puree that I had frozen last year, and I really needed to use that stuff... I mean how long are you supposed to freeze pumpkin puree anyway? Probably not from one Thanksgiving to the next, but we'll pretend it wasn't that long! The recipe also called for spinach... and I'm all about some spinach, especially if I can find a way to get my picky husband to eat it. I'm also trying to incorporate more vegetarian meals into our weekly menu. I mean seriously, especially in our American diet, we could all use a couple more servings of vegetables a week!So we made John's Pumpkin Lasagna.

Right now I seem to have a myriad of different post ideas flittering around in my head, all of which I would like to eventually write about. The topics are vast and varied. They range from discussing the over scheduling of young kids and the sometimes insane expectations placed upon them by parents, to the current disastrous economic and political state of our country, to immature drivers who always have to get the last honk in … seriously.
However, since my brain is tired and it feels like it is about to shut down, I am going to go with a much lighter post subject - pumpkin and the food you can make from it.
Not only do I positively love the Autumn season, but I adore nearly every food item that has to do with pumpkin. And of course these are healthy items … pumpkin is a vegetable, right ?

I know you need another pumpkin recipe like you need a hole in your head. I am currently working on a pumpkin angel food cake recipe for a friend and had a little pumpkin left over that I had to use right away. I have a recipe for pumpkin bars but it called for more pumpkin than I had. What to do? “Google” pumpkin bars of course! I found this recipe on the Cooking Light website. It’s actually not that bad for you; very little fat for the amount of bars it yields. The recipe title is misleading though, when I think of bars, I think brownies or blondies. These little “bars” are more like cake, …pumpkin snack cake maybe? What ever these are they are quite delicious with a cup of coffee. Happy baking!Pumpkin BarsIngredients6 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled1 3/4 cups sugar3 large eggs1 cup canned pumpkin1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon1 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, at room
Pumpkins have long been a fascination for me. Like my daughter is now, I was once obsessed with Cinderella and I think that was my first exposure to pumpkins. What a fascination to have too, something that could be turned into a carriage fit for a princess. My kind of vegetable (fruit?) There's always been something magical about them!Growing up in 80's Ireland, pumpkins were nowhere to be seen. Nor did we carry around a hollowed out turnip (rutabaga/swede to Americans/Brits) - those things are hard enough to cut never mind hollow out! My first exposure to the jack-o-lantern was my first Halloween in America. I had joined the girl scouts and we were carving them for Halloween. Imagine my surprise when I found out I had a severe topical allergy to them. My hands swelled up like balloons when I scooped out the seeds. This put me off eating them as God knows what would happen to my insides. It was only a few years later when I accidentally ate pumpkin soup that I realised I was
I can’t really say that I have made a lot of muffins in my life. In fact, this is one of the few recipes I have made that—apart from the oven—does not involve some kind of appliance. When I laid out all the ingredients for this muffin recipe for the first picture below, I realized that there were a lot of ingredients in this muffin. Counting the eggs once, there are seventeen ingredients needed to make these muffins. Fortunately, I already have most of these ingredients thanks to the remarkable similarity of this recipe with molasses softies cookies. Who knew making muffins would be so easy?
When I first made these muffins, we thought they tasted great, but it seemed that they could use just a hint of orange to bring out a fresher flavor from the canned pumpkin. A little orange zest in the second batch and it was just what these muffins needed. Moist and delicious, these muffins have a nice balance of spices that isn’t overpowering or heavy. The smell of these m

Husband wakes me to drive him to work. Wearing a t-shirt and a pair of sawed-off sweatpants, I push my feet into slippers, grab a coat and stumble out the door.
4:45a.m.
Sitting in the car, waiting for my husband to finish readying himself for his workday, I shiver, curse faulty automobiles, and study my front porch. Of the six pumpkins that fell asleep on the porch the night before, only three remain.
I squint into the rearview mirror and scan the street behind me for the usual pumpkin carnage. Feeling a little violated, and then a little ridiculous for feeling violated over pumpkin theft. Realizing that whoever took the pumpkins was kind enough to leave the ones my children and I had painted. “Aw,” I think, “how sweet of them.”

Returning home after dropping husband at work, I spy flashes of orange in the grass at the side of the road. I make an illegal u-turn and a turn-about in a stranger’s driveway. I pull to the side of the shoulderl

Sure, I may be too old to go trick or treat, but you're never too old to carve a pumpkin - or two! Last year, with crazy work weeks and everything else, I didn't have time for any pumpkin carving, so this year I vowed, come hell, high water, or a devil boss, I was going to carve some punkins, dammit!Beer and I made a last minute trip yesterday to one of my favorite pumpkin patches - The Lopez Family, that used to be on Wilshire and is now adjacent to The Grove - to pick up a couple of orange beauties. After a near altercation with a very odd woman who kept sending her six or seven year old daughter over to snatch the good pumpkins we were literally bent over to pick up - I wish I was exaggerating here! - we finally got our hands on a couple of fresh off the truck, glorious gourds.Today, armed with some Martha Stewart worthy tools and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown I went to town to get those babies carved up in time for our lone two trick-or-treaters before heading out to Yelp
Dear One Useless Man, I have a question that I cannot find an answer to. Last night I smoked a very large hazy-weed-cigar and then proceeded to have 3 bowls of Pumpkin Schnitzelmort. Needless to say I eventually passed out. I woke up this morning and my overused and heavily skidmarked jockstrap is missing. How do I go about hunting this down? I have been looking for half a day now. Many thanks.WeirdPsychoFreakDear WeirdPsychoFreak,There can be one and only one answer to your question. First off I would like to remind you that the simultaneous consumption of hazy weed cigars and Pumpkin Shnitzelmort is tantamount to eating pop rocks and washing it down with soda pop. The results are never pretty but almost always entertaining. I would love to tell you where your jockstrap has gone to, but that would be useful and such behaviors have severe repercussions around our offices. Truth be told, I actually have no idea where it would have gone, or who in their right mind would have take

I just want to share something with you from this brilliant state that I have to currently call 'home';
Iowa, which does not tax 'food' started taxing pumpkins this year. They are so money hungry with little better to do than determine that they are missing out on the pennies they can get by charging tax on pumpkins unless the Iowa resident can prove they are eating them.
From the news;
Thanks to all who have participated so far this month in the Winter Bazaar, next month the theme is Thanksgiving but don't let that box you in, you can post ideas for fall activities, crafts and games; ideas for family gatherings; teaching gratitude to kids; dinner party ideas--anything that might be applicable to the month of November. Variety is good so get busy and get your ideas ready!***Glass etching is a simple way to decorate, and if you're not into Halloween you could--instead of etching pumpkins--decorate the glass with leaves, acorns, or whatever motif strikes your fancy.I bought a glass globe at Walmart for under $2, then using some masking tape I taped little triangles for eyes and a nose, and outlined a simple jack o' lantern smile in tape. Using a small amount of etching paste (which can be expensive--$30 for a small jar--but it goes a long way) I painted the exposed areas that I wanted frosted.Notes: Be careful not to get the paste on your skin or clothing as it is
This year's jack o' lantern is a pumpkin with some bite. The boys claimed "eminent domain" and appropriated Lillian's tiny pumpkin from school for our creation. I think it turned out pretty nice, but my favorite part was how Andrew carved it, regular people use a knife but not my man. He goes for power tools. And safety goggles, can't forget the safety goggles. It wouldn't look good to have to tell the guys at the club that you lost your eye in a tragic pumpkin carving accident. Kind of makes you wonder how he'll carve the Thanksgiving turkey, doesn't it?Technorati tags: Wordless Wednesday, Halloween, holidays, pumpkins
It’s that pumpkin time of year again and you should already see the carved pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns scattering the country. I just came across this Squid Lens, Pumpkin Carving Video Showcase. There are videos of some amazing carved pumpkins such as this one (click through to the site if you cannot see the video):
There are also some instructional videos that can give you a few pointers on pumpkin carving technique.
Hi, My name is Mommy and I am a Starbucks Pumpkin Latte Addict. My addiction began 2 weeks ago when the temperatures went from seasonably pleasant to frickin’ cold here in NH. My husband has been traveling for work for 11 weeks now…pretty much Monday through Friday...although some weeks he stops by for a quick visit midweek. We never know in advance when these midweek quick stops are going to occur, so it tends to throw our routine a bit off. Princess is in kindergarten and little BamBam goes to day care (although, don't call it that to him...he insists it is "school", like his big sister). I am supposed to be at home working 20+ hours a week in order to pay for said kindergarten and daycare. Things that have come up over the last 11 weeks while I'm supposed to be working: flu, 4 dentist appointments, 2 dog grooming sessions, 4 field trips, lunch/recess duty on Wednesdays, dropping Princess from full day to half day kindergarten on Mondays and Frid
Last year, I bought a SpongeBob pumpkin carving kit and we made a very cute SpongeBob pumpkin. This year, I just wasn’t feelin’ it! So we just painted our pumpkins instead:
I think they came out pretty cute!

Halloween is just not Halloween without a few television specials. When I was younger it seems that there were a lot more prime time Halloween specials. Not so much anymore. Sure every show has a Halloween episode but that is not the same. I am talking about the prime time cartoon Halloween specials like Garfield, Fat Albert and of course the classic It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Tonight ABC is airing the Great Pumpkin. I will be watching. I still don’t care for the whole World War I flying ace part but I love watching Charlie Brown get rocks when he is trick or treating. I think this year I might hand out rocks. A bag of lava rocks is a lot cheaper than a bag of candy.
Recent studies conducted by Chinese experts bring a new ray of hope for diabetics.

As the clock counts down to Halloween and countless enthusiasts wait to see what the rotting pumpkin on WhySoSerious.com reveals for “The Dark Knight,” one pattern has clearly emerged:The pumpkin is only rotting on one side. You could say it has a split personality. You could say it has – yes – two faces. While it’s premature to confirm the presence of Two-Face (an enemy of Batman), stay tuned in the coming days for the answer.Moments ago, I created a new screenshot of the current face of WhySoSerious.com. It’s directly below and on the left. The right image is from Oct. 26.The screenshot below and on the left I created on Oct. 18 before the rotting began. The screenshot on the right is from Oct. 22.
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are expected today at L.A. Superior Court for a progress report in their ongoing custody battle. According to court officials, all cell phones, recording devices and cameras will not be permitted at the hearing, which is open to the media. Spears, 25, spent yesterday afternoon — the same day her hit-and-run misdemeanor charges were dropped — running errands with her boys Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, 2, like any mom without a care in the world. The crew hit a pumpkin patch in Calabasas, California, at around 1:30 p.m. Spears popped out of her car briefly, but the boys stayed inside, a source said. The next stop: Swings N’Things in Calabasas, California. “She wanted a swing set for her boys for her house in Malibu,” an employee told Usmagazine.com. “She was nice to me. There was just so much commotion.” Federline’s bodyguard picked the children up around 3 p.m. (source)
Sorry villains in training, this replica just looks cool and will exhibit none of the effects seen in Spider-Man 1 and 3. You’ll also definitely think twice about throwing it around if you do decide to cop, as they are fairly pricey. Via the official product page:
“The Green Goblin’s trademark destructive pumpkin bombs will make the perfect addition to any Spider-Man fan’s secret weapons cache! Based on the record-breaking Spider-Man 3, these signature explosives measure over 5-inches in diameter and feature a unique light-up design. Limited to 1,000 pieces and sculpted by Gentle Giant, each replica also features a display stand with an individually numbered base, box and certificate of authenticity as well as full care instructions for your new prop replica!”
As mentioned before the “Pumplin Bomb” replica ain’t cheap (they go for $124.99), so you’ll have to consider that if you plan on stacking a few of these joints on your shelf
It has been quiet around here because my internet was out for five days! Time Warner was sweet about it and even put a credit on my account, but it took FIVE days for them to come out and fix the problem. grrrr.
