This summer, Pucci is all out to make a shift from it's Italian island paradise that largely represents its longstanding Pucci brand name to a different path. Although its signature colorful designs still remain, however, the selection of colors are beginning to look like it came from the Navajo country. Its triangular patchwork in multi-color, weaved trimmings and colorful stringed details make up this coming season's Pucci collection. From the looks of it, Matthew Williamson is terribly confused here. He's totally forgotten that he's designing for Pucci. Therefore, he's confused himself by designing the Pucci line to look like his signature line. What a mistake!

Pucci designer Matthew Williamson took inspiration from the Navajo to create a collection of bohemian chic pieces - printed dresses, billowing ponchos and caftans, woven swimsuits, feathered coats and easy, breezy separates in Western-style prints and solids with a primary color palette of maize, brown, yellow, and gold coupled with hot pink, peach and blue.While the collection itself was somewhat of a stretch - as Williamson strayed away from traditional Pucci-style and added more 'ambitious', more signature designs, the handbag collection was extremely un-Pucci. Styles were derived from the 70's and 80's - leather patchwork, color blocks, Native American beading, and chevron stripes. It looks like they have packaged Guerlain’s signature meteorites face powder into Pucci’s signature geometrical design together with a cute little Pucci pouch and pink brush.
4 lipglosses in turquoise, pink, bronze and clear are also part of the Pucci inspired look.
I already have the Meteorites though not in such pretty packaging. But what I’m really wanting is that makeup pouch. I can so see it in my hand as an evening clutch. I’ve been wanting one for ages and this looks right up my alley!

As we can see from Pucci's Fall/Winter 2007 Collection at Fashion Week, the invisible thread that sews the whole collection together is geometric prints (specifically, rectangles) and lots of wood, earth tones and clutches (Clutches seem to be a favourite with the designers these past few seasons). Hmm, it is quite ironic really, for Pucci has always been known for its signature abstract swirls of colour...Why is it when all the designers are experimenting with brighter colours this Fall/Winter 2007, Pucci seems to be veering towards an earthy-toned collection? And geometric rectangular shapes in favour of its abstract prints? Hmmm...I wonder.
There are few fashion items as instantly recognizable as a Pucci print. Pucci's signature swirls and candy colors are a hallmark of a life lived luxuriously.
