Apple has released a Beta release of their Safari 3 browser. Apple claims it to be twice as fast as Internet Explorer and 1.6 times faster than Firefox. Download it over at Apple’s Safari site and judge for yourself.
Web developers rejoice, Safari is now available for Windows. Today Apple made Safari 3 available for download on their newly designed site. For many site designers out there it has been quite a pain to develop a website to suit mac users without having a mac yourself. Well today that pain is diminished as it now possible to test your website in almost all browsers from just a Windows machine. For non developers this is also a breakthrough as many Windows users try to convert their computers to a Mac without actually buying a one. Microsoft Corp. has unveiled a public beta of its MSN Soapbox video-upload service, its competitor to Google Inc.’s popular YouTube service.
The service, which Microsoft unveiled last September, has been available to beta testers only by invitation for several months. But now anyone can test out the service by going to this Web site, reports the the LiveSide blog, which tracks Microsoft’s Windows Live Internet services.
