Often when the housing sector is booming one of the benefactors are home improvement retailers. Home Depot has been thriving in Mexico since they opened their first stores in 2001. Since that time they have grown to 69 stores and over $1 billion in sales according to a story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In March, [...]
I did get an reply from inside Prosper regarding the prospers.org scrubbing. One of Prosper's big concerns with the .org relates to security. Until I read this, I did not truly appreciate how fanatical they were about personal and security. In retrospect, I should not have been surprised based on my dealings with other financial institutions, but I had not considered this level of detail before.
LONDON - The dollar was firm as some appetite for risk resurfaced following a heavy hint from US Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke that US borrowing costs may be cut next month.
In a letter to Senator Charles Schumer, Bernanke said the Fed is “prepared to act as needed” to mitigate some of the impact from the disruption in the financial markets.
His comments reinforced expectations that the central bank will cut its key Fed funds target rate from the current 5.25 pct at its next rate-setting meeting on Sept 18. As a result they helped lift risk appetite across the financial markets, most evidently in the performance of US stocks overnight.
And though a prospective rate cut reduces the dollar’s yield attraction, the US currency has garnered some support from more hopes the Fed will do enough to prevent the US economy from sliding into recession in the wake of the sub-prime crisis.
In the currency markets, the increased appetite for risk is most evident in the perfo
For years we have been taught that the way to prosper was by our giving. I submit to you it is by a deeper relationship with Jesus. Jesus will tell you what you need to do to prosper. The fact of the matter is still that everything you hear on Christian television says that it is according to your tithing and how much we give which causes you to prosper." If you don't sew you won't reap " is what they try to say. The trouble is most of the scriptures they use are being lifted out of their setting making them say something that they are not at all talking about. They also use mostly old testament scriptures which were directed to servants of God who weren't born again. God treats his sons and daughters who have the nature of Christ in them a lot different than his old testament saints who had a death nature. The first point you may want to consider is what Jesus said in Matthew 6 "look at the birds of the air; they don't sew or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly Fath
Welcome to our little chat about tithing or God's grace . I was watching Christian television the other morning and listening to what they were implying. They were talking about the parable of the widow's offering and making it sound like Jesus was just so pleased with the fact that she gave all she had to live on. After I finished stabbing myself in the eye with a fork I thought to myself, don't these so called men of God know how to meditate the word. You never and I mean never lift a verse out of it's setting. Jesus always taught in whole subjects. The key is to find the beginning of the subject and then find the end. Perhaps part of the confusion here with the widow's offering is that most modern translations put a sub heading right in the middle of this teaching as though Jesus had changed the topic which he clearly had not. Here is how it should read: Luke 20:45 While all the people were listening Jesus said to his disciples, " Beware of the teachers of the law. They walk ar
A lot of preachers are dogmatic about biblical tithing but most of what is being taught in Christian churches across North America about a believer's prosperity is just flat out erroneous. This is a huge topic so I am going to address one false doctrine to the next and make this a series. The words of the prophets are subject to the prophets so I invite you to scrutinize what I say with the word and God's holy spirit in you. The church keeps wanting to find little formulas for prosperity when God is looking for relationship with us. If I told you there is no curse on you if you don't tithe and no automatic vending machine blessing if you do you'd probably say that flies in the face of everything I have been hearing. The truth of the matter is there is a ton of false doctrine floating around out there. It is time for the church to grow up and stop feeding on baby food. The problem is we seem to want to lift bible verses out of their setting. When we do we can make scripture say anyt
