Connecting your propane grill to your house propane supply is a great way to ensure you can cook dinner anytime without running out of gas. This can be a fairly straight forward home improvement project if you have an accessible gas line near the grill. In my case I had the plumbers run a gas line outside just under the deck when we built the house. They ran the gas line outside and left it with a

I received an interesting piece of mail yesterday. It was an advertisement from our local oil and propane supplier. The advertisement was announcing this year's pre-buy pricing. Are you ready for this folks? I wasn't too shocked because I use propane and although it's high it's nothing compared to No. 2 fuel oil that conventional furnaces burn.So here are the prices in the fine state of New Hampsh
One of the benefits to using propane vs oil for your heating fuel is you can bury the tank underground instead of having an oil tank in your basement. I like using underground propane tanks for a number of reasons as I'll point out in this post. If you're building a new house or considering a change to propane then this is a good quick review of the issues.LPG (propane) tanks installed underground
This year I wrote about comparing the cost of heating with oil versus heating with propane. The two posts that I wrote, Heating - Propane Vs Oil and Oil Vs Propane Fuel Calculator have been read more than any other posts I've written. So I thought it would be interesting to mention them again with heating oil around here above the $4.00 per gallon and propane in the $3.00 range. I've received lots
Baltimore — (TFN): Propane prices have been soaring since 2002. Oddly enough, the price charts for propane companies such as Suburban Propane (SPH-NYSE) have not been keeping track with prices.

Can you believe the temp in our house stayed right around 63 degrees, never dropping below 61??And we normally keep the temp in our house between 65 - 68 degrees.OK. Mostly 65. I just wanted to say 68, so y'all wouldn't freak out...I know... I heard some of you gasp. SIXTY FIVE??? Yes. You heard that right. We used to keep it at 70. And our kids kept getting croup and all sorts of yucky upper respiratory yuckyness. Our doctor finally asked us what the temperature in our home was... He said, change it to 65 degrees, it will take you some time to adjust, but your kids will be healthier. Germs like warm houses.Anyway. I called the propane peeps this morning.... told them we ran out, and would like them to come fill our tank and also check for leaks. (and by the way... filling our tank means shelling out $1,200.) I KNOW there is a leak. I can smell it, it gives me a headache.Propane guy shrugs me off. "Mmm ya. We'll be there sometime this week" Me: Ok. We DID run out.
I know... I know... You're always asking yourself, "What should I do with this old propane tank?" I mean, who hasn't? Here are a few alternatives that I came up with... 1) Return it to the store for proper disposal; 2) Exchange it for a new one; 3) Fire a gun at it. Yeah, let's go with #3.(Heads up: Once get past the vomit-inducing camera-work of the first 30 seconds, this is actually pretty cool.)On a 100% completely unrelated bonus note, Cindy Crawford has still got it. Also methane and natural gas….!

We are all surrounded with smart gadgets and inventions that we often take for granted and never think much about. When we were going to exchange our propane tank recently, it struck us we were actually holding one such invention in our hand. We have used this combined valve cover and carrying handle lots of times without thinking about its actual smartness. Instead of the ordinary valve cover you attach this handle and get a cover and a carrying handle all in one. We have no idea who the inventor is, but we want to extend our congratulations and thanks for a smart and useful invention.
Everyone who does more than casual cooking on their gas grill should convert from propane to natural gas if at all possible. The ultimate convenience of not running out of fuel or having to change the tank is definitely worth the time, effort and cost. Grilling is a fantastic hobby. It is so simple and accessible to go outside to your grill - take off the grill cover and pronto - the grill is ignited. No leftover charcoal ashes to clean up first. No need to find a bag of charcoal, No need to empty the charcoal briquettes into the grill and light. No doubt of is there enough propane in the tank to cook the steaks? But, all gas grills purchased today by consumers are equipped to use bottled propane gas that comes in a refillable container. Thus, in order to ensure that you will not run out of propane gas while you are a nice steak, you must have a spare container of propane gas available. If the first container should happen to run low while you are a nice steak, you can quickly replace th
