Catwalk to the Sidewalk: Proenza Schouler Safari Look
The Proenza Schouler sping 2008 collection for was all about the Safari look. The collection was filled with military inspired jackets and vests in neutral and muted colors. It was all about layering vests in different shades and accessories. The masculine collection was balanced by the full 'ice skating' skirts. Models' outfits were completed with belts, platforms and patent pumps. I loved the entire collection; however, my favorite look was this neutral ensemble. The look is so simple and versatile. You can change the look from dressy to casual by switching the pumps for brown gladiators flats that are all the rage this season and adding a few accessories. Remember to have fun with the safari-esque look. You don't have to go overboard with it. If you don't like the neutral colors, switc

NY- Spring 08 Ready to Wear: Proenza Schouler
To be honest, I've never really been a big Proenza Schouler fan (a pat on the back for their Womenswear Designer of the Year co-win, though). And this collection hasn't really done much to sway me, but I did see some very pretty looks so I thought I may as well post them.(left) Nothing particularly ground-breaking, but a nice mix of masculinity and femininity. The top is somewhat safari-like. (right) I'm a bit hot and cold with this. It's nice (rather impractical, though), but perhaps the skirt needed to be plain and not ruffled? Now this is very pretty. I pretty much love everything about it.Oh no, I sounded quite mean in this post, didn't I? I really didn't mean it, I was just trying to be honest...For more Proenza Schouler, go to Style.comCatch.*Romany*[photos courtesy of style.com]

      Proenza Schouler Introduces Summery Silks
I admit: this is from the Proenza Schouler for Target line. I also admit that when someone asks me who designed this dress, I omit those last two words. To be fair, no one I know actually knows who Proenza Schouler is, so really, does it matter at all? I was very excited when I saw that top-name designers were making collections for Target. Affordable couture. Of course I didn’t expect it to have the same luxury as the real deal does, but stylish clothing and pretty good quality for these prices is exciting. In recent years I have noticed an odd trend in fashion: trendy, popular clothing stores providing mediocre quality at offensive prices. H&M, American Eagle, A&F, the Gap… I am always surprised at how places like this get away with charging what they charge for the quality they offer. I have been checking out the Target designer collections since they began. Ultimately, I have been extremely disappointed with the fit and selection. Also disappointing is
