As climate related disasters gets nastier and more frequent, private disaster response companies have started popping up on the market. In California during the recent wildfires some houses were miraculously untouched by the flames while most others were not. In many cases the "lucky" house owners had deals with private disaster response companies, in this case providing efficient fire protection. I bet many of these lucky house owners also drive around in emergency proof Hummers pretending they can pay themselves immune of climate chaos. Liberals across the country love to use the British system of socialized healthcare as an example of what we should "strive for" in terms of a national healthcare system.Meanwhile, on the other side of the Pond, thanks to the strain of socialized healthcare, British citizens are being driven towards....that's right....privatized healthcare. Seems the ole government doesn't work too efficiently...big surprise.Now, frame the argument for why we should want to copy their system and others like it again?
It seems that the Japanese government is planning to privatize the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) so that it will qualify and be in the running for Google and the X Foundations 30 million dollar worth of prizes for getting robotic rover on the Moon.
Japan only last week launched a very publicized lunar orbiter from the small island of Tanegashima off the southern tip of Kyushu Island, southern Japan using the domestically developed H-2A rocket.
I wonder if this will be official and how it will develop.
