      Princeton - Ms. Bentwich
Another literate indie pop combo to savour, well you’d hardly expect anything else with a name like that would you? Princeton come from L.A. but their latest EP ‘Bloomsbury’ was inspired by a year spent in the English capital. ‘Ms. Bentwich’ is the second track and what a perfectly orchestrated piece of chamber pop it turns out to be. From the gently tweeting birds that kick it all off t

      181, 1949, 1967, 194 (part 2): Akiva Eldar in Princeton
Akiva Eldar, Senior Editor in Haaretz newspaper came to speak in Princeton today. This was part of a promotion campaign of an English translation that just came out of his book on the Jewish Settlements in the territories, "Lords of the Land".The main problem was his attempt to describe all the problems of Israel as deriving from the settlers, claiming that they are undermining Zionism. I didn't like that claim, and I felt that he didn't substantiate it as the talk unfolded. I might be willing to accept that the settlers are undermining a certain model of Zionism, but this can be said of almost any political body in Israel. However, this is besides the point because Eldar didn't push it beyond stating it at the outset, leaving it to the audience to interpret what he meant by this title. His attack of the settlers was marred, as I said, by promoting his argument ad absurdum. He implied that had Israel rid itself of the settlements, there would have been sufficient budget to change the

      Princeton – Seat of Learning
Non-sectarian Princeton University in New Jersey is a revered seat of learning, part of the elite Ivy League conglomeration of eight colleges, and has a long and rich history. Founded in the town of Elizabeth in 1746 as the College of New Jersey, this premier educational establishment was relocated to Princeton ten years after its formation, but didn’t change its name to reflect its new location until some 150 years later. The original university’s building - the Nassau Hall - forms the centre point of today’s campus. It has been added to and changed function many times over the years, but still retains its original façade. During the college’s 150 year anniversary in 1896, Princeton adopted the title of Woodrow Wilson’s keynote speech: “Princeton in the nation’s service” as its informal motto. Wilson was then a faculty member, but six years later became the University’s 13th President and immediately set about enlarging and improving the college. Plans for a graduat

Under Princeton’s financial aid policy student loans are not included in the initial fi nancial aid award. However, student loans are available to help cover expenses beyond the standard student budget, or to replace a shortfall in expected summer or term earnings for aid recipients. Non-aid students may also consider taking a loan to assume responsibility for a portion of their expenses. In addition, parents can borrow to help cover their share of Princeton’s costs. The following information is designed to help you decide if an education loan is right for you, and which type best meets your needs. If you or your parents feel it is necessary to borrow to help manage your Princeton expenses, we encourage you to speak to a financial aid counselor before making your final decision. read more

The Princeton Review: Top Party Schools
Having gone through the college selection process four times in recent years with my two daughters (yup, they both transferred from public state universities to private schools -- oddly one to a school founded by Franciscans and the other to a school founded by Jesuits), I can tell you that colleges love the rankings put out by various guides. They all rank highly in something and they use these rankings in everything from advertising to the sales presentations they make to visiting students and their parents. One ranking that they try to distance themselves from is The Princeton Review's annual Top Party Schools list. The list measures a combination of survey questions concerning the use of alcohol and drugs, hours of study each day, and the popularity of the Greek system at each school. When a school ends up on that list they all cry foul and claim that rankings like this sort do not accurately reflect the overall college experience at the school. Well, you cannot have it both ways.

Filed under: Storage, Networking Princeton Technology seems to be intent on keeping all its NAS bases covered, with the company now introducing a 500GB unit to complement its bring-your-own-drive offerings. As with those others units, the company’s new PEC-NAV500 NAS boasts iTunes server and DLNA capabilities, includes DigiOn’s DiXiM media server client software, and packs a spare USB port to accommodate a printer or an extra drive. It also promises improved heat dissipation from its aluminum enclosure, and packs a fan just in case that’s enough enough to keep things cool. Look for this one to hit Japan later this month for around ¥32,800, or roughly $276. Princeton (Mass) attorney accused of theft in $6.2 scheme
On July 24, 2007 a Criminal Information was filed in the Massachusetts District Court alleging that attorney Alan Mason of Princeton, Mass had engaged in a scheme to defraud lenders by converting portions of loan proceeds for his own use. Mason was the owner of Alan Mason Legal Services, Inc of 428 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester, MA. He was an agent for Stewart Title and also bought and sold foreclosed properties. In the scheme Mason is alleged to have prepared false closing docs like HUD-1’s which showed that existent liens had been paid off using loan proceeds when in fact they had not. He allegedly sent copy checks and other documents which purported to prove the non-existent pay offs. He then issued Title Insurance policies knowing that the titles were defective because the liens had not been paid off. He then made regular monthly payments to the liens to avoid defaults and triggering alerts. During this scheme he is alleged to have defrauded at least 10 lenders of over

Princeton Theology Professor Embraces Same-Gender Marriage

I wrote an article regarding their recommendations to the last General Assembly. I didn't like them. I wanted the GA then (and I still want) to remove what I believe are prejudicial and discriminatory policies. However, I did admire the the views of the individual task force members and their willingness to come to some sort of unanimous decision. I am pleased that some of the members, like Johnson, are now coming out with their convictions. To get an idea of Johnson's viewpoint, the Presbyterian Outlook published an article in 2005. Malan at Princeton - A BPR Reader Reports
We have this report from BPR reader Christine on Malan's lecture on style December 7th at Princeton University Malan Breton came to Princeton University to give a multifaceted presentation on "Optimizing Your Personal Style". The room was buzzing with excitement (with dance music, practice runway walks, and whispers of "He's late!" "He's here!!!"), and even though they were mostly in jeans and sweats, the young crowd seemed to have a serious interest in high fashion. Malan gave a brief autobiography of his background (I still can't picture him as a skate rat or surf dude), and described how wearing a pair of self-embroidered trousers ultimately cemented his career in fashion. He went on to describe how his collections manifest his love of "Old Hollywood", and presented many photographs that linked the styles of actresses like Joan Crawford, Marilyn Monroe, and Marlene Dietrich to the fashions of performers today. He showed many modern day dresses and then the original style th

Future Graduates of Princeton Theological Seminary: You'd hire these guys, right?
(My friend Don...as Burt...!!! Photo taken by Joshua Cleveland) There are days that I miss Princeton more than others. It's been good to do a year away, and I'm really looking forward to going back next year. Today is one of those days when I really remember why Princeton Theological Seminary is so special. Today at Princeton was Burt Reynolds Day. Guys on campus (including some faculty & staff) spend the fall growing out their facial hair and on one day in December, shave off everything except (normally) a mustache (although I see some really creative stuff in the photos). Girls are normally not a huge fan of the lead-up to the process - especially if you're dating one of those guys who really only has some nice pre-pubescent peach fuzz (no offense...that's me too!). Anyway, enjoy my buddy Josh's photos here.
