Powerset has been launced quitely, by a califirnia based start up. For the uninitated, Powerset plans to redifeine searching, as we know it. The current search engines do not distinguish between "book for children" or "book by children" or "boof about children". These are all equivalent to "book children".
Este lunes hizó su debut en la web Powerset, un nuevo buscador que tiene un propósito bastante definido y osado para muchos, que es el de buscar y organizar documentos. Pero no lo hará en toda la web, sino que estará limitado a Wikipedia (al menos por ahora).Para esto, Powerset no usará el sistema de palabras claves, sino el de "lenguaje natural" que consiste en estudiar el sentido de frases

Powerset, il motore di ricerca che offre risultati accettando domande di senso compiuto ha iniziato la sua fase di beta testing aperta a (quasi) tutti gli utenti. Il motore di ricerca, unico nel suo genere, è un importante esperimento di intelligenza artificiale, che permette, appunto, di “rompere i confini della ricerca per parole chiave”, inserendo intere frasi o domande nel campo di ricerca.
La tecnologia, in pratica, prende vantaggio dalla struttura naturale della lingua (in questo caso l’inglese) diventando un motore di ricerca user-friendly. Solo per fare un esempio, se vogliamo (è un esempio, ripeto) sapere quando e come Mediaset ha acquistato Endemol, con Google scriveremo una cosa tipo “Endemol Mediaset acquisto”, con Powerset invece potremo scrivere: “Quand’è che Mediaset ha acquistato Endemol?”.
