We've all seen the motivational posters with the black borders and the big white letters under a picture that say "inspire" or "persevere" or "Bravery" but the internet has given us the "DeMotivational" poster and they are usually quite funny. I started out by saving all I Have seen that are amusing and putting them into one post a few months Back....Here is the link to that post HERE , or you can click on the tags at the end of this post. Here's an example of a "DeMotivational" Poster. Some of them are like this one and have the caption "When You See It You'll Shit Bricks" signifying to you that you need to find in the picture what makes it fucked up. Usually when you find it, you can't believe you didn't see it right away.
I don't normally post about posters but I think I owe to write about these specific posters. Eric Smith was recently diagnosed with cancer and decided to create a poster series with some quotes that have helped him through this whole process. The posters feature positive, strong messages about life and I think would make some awesome t-shirts as well. My major problem with the first poster for Get Smart was that it covered the movie’s greatest asset: Steve Carrell’s face. Apparently someone in the marketing team thought “Oh Shit, We Can’t do That!” So in the final poster they decided to cover Anne Hathaway’s face instead.

Bueno, al final me demoré un poco con los posters teaser de mi corto, pues tenia pensado dejarlos hechos antes de Semana Santa, pero aqui los teneis acabaditos a pesar del ligero retraso. He manipulado un poco el render del primer poster, suavizando manchas siguiendo la sugerencia de Fenris y difuminando el reflejo de Niko, tal y como me indicó muy acertadamente el sr. Eduardo Ocaña. Como añadido, he hecho un poster para la otra gran protagonista de mi corto, la gaviota (o gaviotas) que pueblan la playa donde transcurse la historia. Apparently they have a bunch of posters in display at the ShoWest convention. IESB and Latino Review are on the case and have posted many photos of these posters. Not high quality images, but they are enough to get the idea.

The Los Angeles Public Library has a delightful virtual gallery of vintage travel posters. Wonderful art deco and other classic illustration styles.
There's a couple things that bother me about this poster. They're advertising travel from New York to London, apparently via flaming locomotive. While this sounds cool, and exciting, there is the little matter of the Atlantic ocean. Long bridge?

Look at the size of the airplane in this Pan-Am poster for Hawaii! I think the scale is off a little here, were the Flying Clippers really as big as a 747?

The first poster for Shutter, which you can see above, got some nice notices from some parts. I myself find the idea behind the poster appealing, and the final image does give out a certain creepy vibe.
