Some 15,000 Bahamians have paid membership in adult Internet sex groups, according to Assistant Superintendent of Police Paul Rolle, who added that child pornography in the country has also become an issue for police.
In a conference call with the media from throughout the country on Friday, ASP Rolle reported that child and adult pornography appear to be growing in The Bahamas.
ASP Rolle, who is heads the Cyber Crimes Unit of the Central Detective Unit, said that in 2006, there were 11,400 Bahamians registered on pornographic or sex group websites such as sexsearch.com and adultfriendfinder.com.

After much deliberation Britain’s Crown Prosecution decided that the photograph was not indecent and that there would be no charges which seems to be a result of an investigation into the same photo in 2001 by the CPS which also found the photograph to be not indecent. Graphic novels and manga are exploding like mushrooms all over North America. The major publishing companies are grabbing anything that comes down the pike after smaller companies who have made a little money on books like these. With that comes the clutter of garbage material that involves nudity and sexual and violent content in these books. What most publishers are avoiding to put on their books is some kind of rating system. Books are now finding there way to young kids, who are are not aware of the graphic material inside these books, the parents and teachers are oblivious to the stories inside. There has to be a better system to handle these books, there has to be some kind of responsibility at some level. These books are what they are and should be stated on the front. Singer R. Kelly is going to trial on September 17 on child porn charges five full years after the allegations were made against him. In case you’ve forgotten, Kelly had a video tape surface of him pissing all over a 14 year old girl:

Kelly pleaded not guilty to the charges and in the interim has released hit songs, gone on tours, and released a DVD set of “hip-hopera” skits.
