From a Dane currently residing in London comes these two pop jewels published under the name Champagne Riot. The man behind the project calling himself C. (for now I’ll have to stick to this description, as I don’t know his real name - yet!) contacted me last week and kindly asked me to give his songs a listen. So I did and as I’m a sucker for pure and catchy pop music, his songs immediately appealed to me. Currently he’s talking to a few labels and I wouldn’t be too surprised if Champagne Riot is signed to one of them very soon, as there will always be a market for charming and attractive music like this. But for now we’ll have to be content with these demo versions of his songs that he after a few convincing words (I hope) were made available as free downloads.+ Scandinavian
Pop music veterans The Bats return VETERAN music group The Bats will present a lively show at the Vodacom Amphitheatre at The Boardwalk on Sunday. The Bats' brand new two-hour "loudly South African" show promises to take audiences on a taxi ride from the Cape to the Townships, from the 1950s to the present and guarantees laughter and hair-raising moments. Originally formed in 1964, The Bats became South Africa's answer to The Beatles. Some of the members of this legendary group are still well-known in South Africa's entertainment circles. Popular South African comedian and actor Eddie Eckstein is the band's drummer and provides vocals, while guitarist, vocalist, keyboard and bass player Paul Ditchfield, recently acted in the remake of The Flight of the Phoenix. The other two band members are guitarist Pete Clifford and newcomer Derek Gordon. In the early 1970s, the band won a Sarie Award for their single, Who's that Girl. In the 1980s, The Bats release
By Clyde Lee DennisGirl In The Other Room is the latest Pop CD put out by the highly talented Diana Krall who once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I'm confident Diana Krall fans, and Pop fans alike will be pleased with this one. It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply isn't a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it's own.Diana Krall is one of those musicians that has the ability to just win you over with her talent. The kind of artist it's really a treat to be able to listen to.I give Girl In The Other Room my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference. While this entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 1 - Stop This World, track 2 - The Girl In The

By Clyde Lee DennisB’Day is the latest release from Pop Superstar Beyonce, and I can only think of one word to describe this CD… AWESOME!It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it's own.B’Day has a nicely varied, mix of 10 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly superb artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are her own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.If you’re a Beyonce fan, or just a fan of Pop music this is a CD your collection simply should not be withou
By Clyde Lee DennisThe exceptionally talented Pop artist Avril Lavigne has released her CD entitled Under My Skin. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Avril Lavigne fans, and Pop fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Under My Skin Avril Lavigne’s artistic excellence is on full display as she has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be her best work to date.I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Under My Skin. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.Avril Lavigne is one of those musicians that has the ability to just bowl you over with her talent. The kind of artist it’s really a treat to be able to listen to.If you’re a Avril Lavigne
Leona Lewis isn't the only artist who has the internet abuzz about their talents: Lately a growing number of blogs have all been raving about UK artist Mika, whose catchy and extravagant rock/electro-pop concoctions take the best from Rufus Wainwright and Beck, and give it a new spin.
One great example of Mika's magic is the dancy, falsetto-happy and trashtastic "Relax, Take It Easy" which has
