Every Metropolitan police officer will be "tagged" so that senior officers can monitor their movements on a tracking system, it has been disclosed. The plan - which affects all 31,000 serving officers in Britain's largest police force, including the Commissioner, Sir Ian Blair - will augment the Airwave radio system used to help monitor officers' movements, the magazine Police Review reported. The electronic tracking device, called the Automated Personal Location System (APLS), means that officers will never be out of range of supervising officers. ~ read on... ~

So let me get this straight… John Fuller, a cop and ex animal control officer served 35 minutes in jail for horribly abusing his dog.
Most people convicted of the same would end up with a month or two of jail time plus a fine, but all that was suspended for this fool… go figure.
Yes folks.. 35 minutes in jail for starving his dog. The dog was starved so badly that her weight was 1/2 of what it should be. That is about the same as taking a 6 foot male down to a skin and bone weight of 85 lbs. or a 5′2″ woman at 55 lbs.
but since a picture is worth a thousand words, check it out
and here are the facts
A Gaffney police officer will keep his job after pleading guilty on Nov 1, 2007 to starving his dog late last year. John Fuller, 28, of 503 Beech St., who is also a former animal control officer, served 35 minutes in jail after Cherokee County Chief Magistrate Bart Howell sentenced him to time served with no monetary fine after he pleaded guilty to ill treatment

According to reports, a Wisconsin police officer was reprimanded after his Taser was discharged by accident, causing an injury to the officer. The Madison police released a report on the incident; however, they did not reveal the police officer’s gender or name. The Taser was accidentally discharged while completing their standard checkout procedure.
Police officers are supposed to make sure that there are no air cartridges, which is what propels the prongs, loaded in the Taser gun at the start of their shift. However, the officer’s Taser gun had some loaded, and while doing their standard checks he tasered himself.
The officer was then reprimanded because he did not make sure that there was no air cartridge in the gun, which is a violation of the department policy.
One of Britain's leading black police officers is to demand that more people from ethnic minorities must be stopped and searched if the fight against inner-city gun and knife crime is to succeed. As one person pointed out, it's easy for the black officer to argue for this since he is not likely to be targeted himself.read more | digg story

How selfish and narcissistic do you have to be to sue the family of the 1 year old boy who nearly died? How greedy and cold hearted do you have to be to blame them for having a puddle of water in their home after dragging a drowning baby from their pool?A cop who fell on the job while responding to a drowning is suing the family of a little boy who is now permanently and severely disabled. In January, 1-year-old Joey Cosmillo wandered into the backyard and fell into the family pool. Rescuers were able to bring him back to life, but he suffered severe brain damage and cannot walk, talk or even swallow. Now, his family faces another burden: One of the rescuers, Casselberry police Sgt. A local officer in Carrollton Twp., Michigan is being hailed kind of like a hero, as he saved the life of a skunk using his quick wits and good shot. The skunk had a jar stuck around its head, doomed to face a certain death, when James Kellett thought of a great way to not be caught in the spray of the animal. He grabbed a BB gun, used in hunter savety courses, and took a shot at it.The glass shattered, but luckily the animal was unhurt. It scampered into the woods wearing a beautiful glass shard necklace. "I didn't want to use deadly force, and it is a residential area," Kellett told The Saginaw News. "The way he was when he took off, he was able to eat, breathe and spray and do anything else skunks like to do." [Yahoo]For reward of their, um, bravery in the line of work, the makers of T. Marzetti's salad dressing are sending the officer coupons good for free dressing.Yippee.Yahoo: Link!
Country music singer John Michael Montgomery is being sued by a police officer for slander. The officer picked up Montgomery on charges of drunken driving and was later fired.
Officer Joshua Cromer was fired in February in part what he wrote on MySpace and part having to do with the arrest. Montgomery said that Cromer accused him of stealing his cowboy hat when he arrested him (no joke). Montgomery said he was arrested because he’s a star.
The arrest took place in Lexington, Kentucky and it was for drunken driving and possession of a controlled substance (Endocet is what is alleged). There were two loaded handguns in Montgomery’s vehicle. Montgomery’s lawyer, says Montgomery is a hunter, and that he has a concealed weapon permit. He said the drugs were prescriptions for pain as a result of surgery he had. He has been found not guilty of all charges.
Now this is the kind of news that would make a great country music song! You stole my cowboy hat and I’ve got two

That's an automatic $75 fine."The driver says, "Yeah, well, you see officer, I had it on, but tookit off when you pulled me over so that I could
Shaquille O’Neal, who is a sworn reserve Police Officer in Miami Beach, had to put his policing skills to use early on Sunday morning. It seems that he was a witness to a hit-and-run accident on his way home after the Miami Heat returned home from Chicago. The hit-and-run involved his Cadillac Escalade. The driver of the car hit O’Neal’s parked car while him and his bodyguard were unloading the Escalade.
The driver of the car fled the scene so O’Neal and his bodyguard pursued the vehicle for about 5 minutes before they finally stopped. O’Neal flagged down an officer and told them what happened. The driver and his friend nearly shit a brick when they saw O’Neal was the one they had hit.
Can you imagine if O’Neal had to do a foot pursuit? Would he be able to even run? He’s barely playing 15 minutes a game after coming off a knee injury. Maybe Shaq can keep Tank Johnson out of trouble while Tank is in Miami for the Super Bowl.

In today’s Buffalo News, we learn that former Buffalo Police Officer, Gregg O’Shei, was spared a jail sentence for using his position to gain sexual favors.
A former Buffalo police officer who forced at least two women to have sex with him or face being arrested was spared a jail term Thursday.
Gregg O’Shei, 43, told City Judge Craig D. Hannah he wanted to apologize to everyone he has embarrassed by his actions, including his victims. He declined to comment as he left court.
I am troubled by the contradiction in the account of this crime. The two women had a choice of having sex with O’Shei or being arrested. How can someone having a choice claim to have been forced to have sex? They could have chosen to be arrested and not had sex with the Police Officer. Since they chose to have sex, I don’t think they should be able to claim they were forced.
