Are Hair Plugs the Right Choice For You?
Author: Benedict SmytheIt is estimated that two out of three men and one out of five women suffer from hair loss. It can be very depressing and most affected individuals try to cover up their balding spots with wigs and other camouflage attempts. Some use growth stimulators and hormone inhibitors. Some are satisfied with these treatments, but a lot more aren't. Many find that wigs and hairpieces d

      Shameless Plugs
A few years back Neil and I were able to attend the CD release party of our good friend Noel Wentworth. Not only were we friends, but fans as well. His first CD, Motion, was a favourite in our household, and his second, Change did not disappoint. It was full of energetic, passionate music that alternately had us dancing and swaying. He is an artist in the true sense of the word and we're awed by his talent. So we were a little annoyed that we had to wait to hear him sing. A fellow named Ryan Donn was opening for him, and it was with some amount of annoyance that we anticipated having to listen to his performance before Noel's.I laugh over that now.Ryan Donn, a Scottish born Canadian singer/songwriter, took the stage. And he simply blew us away. It's hard to put an experience like that into words. It wasn't just great music and superior performance (though it was that), it was entertainment in the truest sense of the word. The man is funny. Neil and I laughed so hard at cer

      Replacing BMW E36 Spark Plugs . . . DIY!
I have found this DIY (Do It Yourself) procedure that will help you to replace your BMW E36 spark plug. I know that you may think this task is very easy. But I think this article has some great information about spark plugs and about the oil that may be leaking inside your engine. So, read it carefully, I’m sure you’ll find it interesting. Concerning the type of spark plugs that you should use for your E36, I prefer going with the Bosch spark plugs for my BMW, but again it’s up to you to decide which type to use. NGK is another good alternative, but I still prefer Bosch over it.     Disclaimer: Use this info at your own risk!! I’m not responsible if this didn’t work for you :-). Begin by prepping the car. The only thing that you really need to do is to make sure that the car is cold. If you try to remove or install spark plugs in a hot car, then you may encounter problems with the spark plugs gumming up or damaging the relatively deli

      Read My Motorcycle’s Spark Plugs
This past weekend, I installed new spark plugs in my Toyota truck. So while it is fresh in my mind I wanted to cover the basics of how to read a spark plug, from the point of view of weekend mechanic. First let’s cover the basic functions of the spark plug. The spark plug has two primary functions: 1. Ignite air/fuel mixture 2. Transfer heat from the combustion chamber Now that you know what a spark plug does, lets discuss how to remove the plugs. This may be common sense, but please allow the engine and exhaust to cool down prior to performing this task. 1. With the engine cooled, disconnect the spark plug wire caps where they connect to the plug inside the cylinder head. My advice is to very gently pull of the wire caps. On one set I yanked at the wire cap and stripped out the inside. This was dumb, but it allowed me to buy a nice set of red wires. 2. With the spark plug wire caps removed, I suggest cleaning out the area around the plug. The best way to do this is with compres

RECALL NEWS: Rehvac safety relief plugs
Rehvac Manufacturing Co., along with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a recall of relief plugs used on nitrous oxide systems and HVAC service tools. According to the CPSC, the safety relief plug can allow pressure to build in the cylinder of an HVAC pressure testing tool or Nitrous Oxide system. If the cylinder is overfilled and overheated it can burst, posing an injury hazard to consumers. This recall involves the 3000 psi safety plugs used in the cylinders of Nitrous Oxide systems and in HVAC pressure testing tools. The Nitrous Oxide systems are used as gas boosters for motor vehicles. The plugs are nickel-plated. The number “3000” is stamped on the face of the plug. No injuries have been reported however, Rehvac has received one report of a cylinder that was overheated and overfilled and burst. Nose plugs or jail?
The fire across the street is still smoldering, and it smells absolutely horrible. Jim and I were debating on if we’d get caught if we were to sneak over in the middle of the night, pour some gasoline on the mess, and relight the darn thing so it’d be over and done with! However, as small as our “Box” is, I figure it’s significantly larger and more cushy than any jail cell… so we opted for nose plugs.I managed to crash my IPod this morning. Or my laptop managed it actually. Fortunately a quick Google search found the solution, and I learned how to reset it by pressing the Menu and Select buttons until it reset itself. Jim was prepared to pull the battery from the housing, but fortunately got sidetracked admiring my wonderful “skin” I purchased for it. I ended up ordering him the same one before breakfast was over. It is really nice. It’s neoprene with a hard front so the screen is protected and the menu buttons are as well. This morn
