Twenty of the best for you this week. Some great stuff around at the moment and there seems to be a lot more dubby electro this year which is no bad thing at all. Vinyl sales continue to rise as CD sales continue to fall! I remember fifteen years ago people within the industry were predicting the imminent death of vinyl and in particular the seven inch single. I wonder what they would have said if they had known that in fifteen years time vinyl sales would actually be up and CD sales in huge decline. Personally I believe the reason is, and certainly for me that whether you have an album on CD or audio files in your computer makes very little difference so you might as well download it from i-tunes or wherever your preference is, but vinyl... well that's a different bag of kippers entirely.

i ran over to the garment district during lunch hoping to find gold buttons. i found the buttons and picked up this watch (left) but there is one problem minor problem, every 15 minutes the watch plays music and it wont turn off!! it was pretty hilarious but by the third play of happy birthday it was sort of embarrassing/annoying/frustrating/but still pretty damn funny.if nothing else the $8 watch, cash only, was worth the laughs. yes, thats right, eight dollars, got to love the dowtown hustle!

Well it's finally here. Just yesterday I became the proud owner of the new album by The Fall. For the last two months I've been waiting impatiently for it to arrive and finally the day has come. On first listen it's well up to standard and already I prefer it over last years "Reformation" album. This playlist would probably have been online yesterday were it not for the fact that I had to re-jig it to include a track from the new Fall album "Imperial Wax Solvent". There are two tracks on it which I think will be in most people's lists at the end of the year. There's a great little number called "I've Been Duped" which I've been singing to myself for the last twelve hours or so and then there's "50 Year Old Man" which is kind of seperated into three sections and comes in at over ten minutes

Who would have thought it. 2008 and old time renegade Nick Cave returns with a bloody good album. I've never being particularly into Nick Cave but I did enjoy some of his records around the turn of the nineties. So when a new Nick Cave album came spinning in my direction I had to spend some time deciding what would be the best use for it. Only some days later did I risk introducing it to a cd player and then only because I'd just cleared up some cat poo and was trying to think what could be worse. Enter "Dig!!! Another week, another brilliant record. It seems at the moment there is at least one record a week that makes the world a much nicer place to be. This week the record in question is the debut album by Columbus, Ohio's Times New Viking. Sixteen tracks of guitar spanking goodness. If I were a doctor I would prescribe you a full dose twice daily for your general well being. I think it's pretty certain that they will be next weeks featured artist. This weeks featured artist however is the superb Eats Tapes who's debut album "Dos Mutantes" I somehow managed to miss last year. right after the kansai trip, I've been busy for friends visit, xmas, new year & then finally crazy at work. there are up & down in mood just like i have sailed myself away from any island for a while. well, i can't say what i'd earned from this sail away. but at least, i can see sunshine from the gaps of the thick clouds and...it's time to come back. the songs in this playlist are found from the artists' Myspace. Well, you can find other promoted songs in their Myspace. I am really so excited to listen Ben Parker's new songs. Ben Parker is half of my favorite band Ben & Jason and he had formed a band called Lux Luther before his solo career. I hope he can release his solo album soon.

Some of the more eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that with the exception of this week and last weeks programs every file on the site has been removed. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it. The company which hosts my webspace decided to do an audit and as a result decided that the files for this site contravened the terms of service and promptly deleted them. The record has had mixed reviews with people either loving or hating it, without much middle ground.
