In what is probably as much a promotion for Ubisoft as it is a test of Home’s abilities, SCEA announced that the Closed Beta users of PlayStation home will soon have access to various content from Ubisoft.

Unfortunately for fans and die-hard Sony PS3 users out there, Sony has announced that it still won't be delivering its much awaited Sony Playstation Home service any time soon, even though this means that they'd be a complete year behind schedule now.Sony doesn't seem to mind that it's losing all these opportunities at making money by being late at rolling out a product, but they should know that sometimes, perfectionists just don't cut it -- especially in the world of tech. By the time it releases Sony Playstation Home, Microsoft or Nintendo could potentially have come up with something else entirely that's better, which of course could kill Sony's efforts again.A lot of fans are upset about this, but sadly there's nothing else to do but just wait for Sony to release the darned thing alre
We've heard a lot from Sony about the possibilities of Home, but IGN got a status report from someone actually in the Beta, who commented on aspects like character creation (it's extremely detailed), the Trophy Room (not actually there yet), and communication (volume changes based on your proximity to the noise). First up, the good news: Home works. What I mean by that is it's easy to go in and socialize and have a fun time doing it. People generally have a good time. It has a very open atmosphere, so you can pretty much walk up to anyone and start chatting with them. I've made friends in Home that I play online games such as Resistance or MotorStorm with. The Home beta has left me very excited about the final product, as it should be even more enjoyable when everyone I know has access to it. And now the bad news: Some features that they've showed us since GDC are still not there, and nothing from E3 is. Sony also had a monthly roadmap of improvements/features/place

All you PlayStation fans behold as screen shots images of Sony’s PlayStation Home have been revealed!
If you already don’t know this Sony self styled ‘Second Life like’ package, will allow you to build your own personalised space. Features will not only include avatars and achievements but the package will offer public hang outs, personal apartments and voice chat. It will also include casual games such as pool, bowling and arcade machines allowing you to invite your fellow PlayStation geeks to join in on the fun.
As for user-generated content, PS Home will enable you to hang your own pictures on your apartment walls and share videos with friends.
Sony is hoping that PlayStation Home will give the PS3 a greater advantage in the next gen gaming wars, especially as it appears far more advanced than Xbox Live which may even result in some Sony PlayStation converts!
There is no word on when it will reach Europe but until then we can only offer you with a fix of

Sony has recently revealed one of its newest online and FREE features for the Playstation 3. It's called "Home" and is basically a mix between Nintendo's Mii system, Xbox Live Achievements, and an open sandbox world. I guess it is all part of Sony's evolving online plans. The question is will...

NOTE: I wasn’t here this past weekend. If you don’t know already, I’m in the USAR (US Army Reserve), and this past weekend was my drill weekend. Sorry, but I simply wasn’t here.
In a recent interview with… whoever (the person who e-mailed this to me Copy/Pasted, not linked), Microsoft’s Chris Satchell was quoted as saying that the Playstation Home has, quote, “definitely taken some concepts that we originated.”
Continuing, Satchell continued to attack the Home idea, repeatedly pointing out how it’s not very “game oriented” and pointing out that Xbox Live (the still superior online service, without question) is, in fact, focuses on the games whereas Home would not. Satchell said, quote, “I think theres is very much a vision that people see it and it looks cool but it’s fundamentally separate from the games - or at least what they’ve shown so far.”
I’m am forced to agree with Satchell. The

Good news for the PlayStation camp, full details of Sony's PlayStation Home have been revealed, and it ain't no slacker. Alongside those avatars and achievements we heard about earlier, the "service" seems to be a new-gen Second Life killer, with public hangouts, personal apartments (to show off those fancy prizes you've been racking up in recent frag fests) and voice chat. The seeming-MMO even includes casual games such as pool, bowling and arcade machines embedded into the world, but at any time you can invite a fellow resident to join in on any PlayStation Network-capable game. As for user-generated content, PS Home allows you to hang your own pictures on your apartment walls and share videos with friends. You can of course dress up your avatar in assorted virtual clothings -- for a price -- all while enjoying "dynamic advertising" of some sort. A large scale beta goes live in April, with the full product to be launched this fall. Make sure to hit up the read link for a gallery
