I was a little unsure about buying this ball pit after reading previous reviews, but I am more than happy that I did! My daughter LOVES it. It is a large ball pit, definitely not a toy for the bedroom unless the room is huge. We have ours set up in the garage and pull it out to the grass so that our daughter can play in it outside. It would be great in a big playroom as well. When we set it up, we

Colleen shared this sketch on her blog a few days ago:I haven't worked on Trent's childhood album in a while and this gave me the perfect inspiration to jump back in:Supplies: miscellaneous cardstock from my stash; American Crafts patterned papers; EK Success sticker; Miss Elizabeth's foam letter stickers; Uniball Signo white pen.
So after spending a few days at my MIL & FIL's home we headed to Lake Tawakoni for some more family fun. When we got there we immediately headed for water. We also managed to get in some fishing later on that evening. All four of the HALLMAN boys were there with their wives and kiddos. My SIL Amanda's family also came; therefore there were TONS of people there.Since there were so many people a

This is a wonderful time of year for general sports fanatics. The Final Four is set, The NBA Playoffs will soon begin and the Indy Racing League appears to be stronger than it has been over the last few years. No matter what type of sport you enjoy, no matter if you follow Professionals or [...]
Did you hear it? No, everyone pretty much knows about March Madness (yeah, Georgetown is out!). The Major League Baseball season started this morning (for those of us in North America) or tonight, if you are in Japan or other...
As I visit my favorite readers blogs there is a topic that I'm seeing creeping into their posts more and more as the days go by. It's something that involves balls. Another hint? Bats. (Not the nocturnal variety.) How about gloves? Ok... now you're catching on. Apparently Spring has sprung (in some parts of the country not currently covered in ice and snow like I am) and with Spring comes..

New Public Relations Campaign a Hit To Get Customers Into Your Store!
We have partnered with USA Cares, a Kentucky-based charity serving military service personnel, to help bring relief to our troops serving overseas.
Called "Operation Slugger II," this program seeks donations from the public of new and gently used sporting goods equipment for our troops overseas. These items will help bring relief, in a fun way, to the stresses they face everyday in protecting our freedom.
The following press release will be issued this week to media outlets around your store. If you receive a call from a reporter, we want you to be informed of what the program is all about.
In summary, here’s how the program works:
A press release is issued to media outlets around your store inviting the public to bring donations of new or gently used sporting goods equipment to your store for dropoff. So the start date is now.
You keep the items stored until Sept
Maccabi Tel Aviv is stacking the deck for its Madison Square Garden showdown against the Knicks this fall. Marcus Fizer, the former #4 overall pick and 2005 NDBL MVP, will join the team’s already potent lineup. Last season Fizer played for Polaris World Murcia in the Spanish league, and his 18.9 ppg would have won the scoring title if he played in one more game.
Fizer isn’t the only not-quite-NBA-worthy player who has recently made a big move. Kareem Rush is back in the NBA after signing a contract with the Pacers. Last season Rush played in the Lithuanian League and the Pacers are hoping he can be the sharpshooter the team need.
Finally, and I’m not sure how this is possible, Nikoloz Tskitishvili is back with the Nuggets and will play on their summer league team. Tskitishvili’s agent has to have some sort of superhuman powers. I can’t fathom how he continuously manages to get NBA teams interested in his most undesirable client.
Came across a great article in the Carroll County Times by Bob Blubaugh and it got me to thinking more about girls and sports.WHY don't more girls play sports? So then I came across another great article called, "Why don't more girls play sports?"Below you'll see an article taken from the Women's Sports Foundation called, 25 Benefits of Girls Playing Sports. It points out that girls who play sports are less likely to get involved in smoking, drugs, and will wait until later for their first sexual experience, among other great benefits. My question is this...once girls get into high school how many sports can they pick from? Compare that to the guys choices. Also girls playing sports in high school drops off dramatically from junior high. Our girls are becoming women, they should act like one
It is a curious development. Pal comes over for a playdate with my oldest son. This pal loves to play outside. [translation = typically developing peer] When we bought this house, it came with it’s own stick, a big one. At the top of the stick is a net for playing netball. I thought it was a bit of an eyesore myself, so I grew Morning Glory all over it as a disguise. This act did not endear me with the neighbours for some unaccountable reason. I was advised by those same neighbours, that the stick was meant for playing the popular game of baseball and that I should restrict my gardening activities to other areas of the yard. I was at a bit of a loss to know where the yard was, but I didn’t let that worry me unduly. But I digress.Pal is very keen to play this sport with my son. We spend a considerable amount of time hunting down a ball. Pal informs me that our balls do not meet the required American standard. I am slightly deflated by his criticism but promise to seek o

"Don't worry Billy, it's still early. You can't be too down about being 3-5. And yeah, Prior's probably done, but that's just the risk you take with hope."
Gotta halfway thank Deadspin for this idea, but there used to be a "Dysfunctional" Family Circus that I'll be revitalizing from time to time. Because what phrase describes us Cubs fans better, right?
So, after an unusual early two days off, it's time for baseball again. The Reds come into town, and hopefully the Cubs can finally get their first home win of the season. This is basically a rematch of Opening Day, pitting Aaron "Dashboard Confessional" Harang, who amazingly is 2-0 already
Against Big Z, who would love for this contract to be done so he can get on with his quest for the Cy Young and World Series (his words, not mine).
The Cubs have seen Harang work, and should be patient today with him. Run up counts, try to foul off good pitches, etc. And Big Z could use another outing like he had against the Brewers, plus h
