Mykro Planets is a pure 1-st person multiplayer action shooter, but in space. It's not a space simulator, it's a free-movement game (like in classic shooters) without acceleration or inertia, with strafes in XZ plane (and strafe along Y axis). I know that it can be strange for space-sim fans, but in that case the game is much more dynamic and available for the wide public.Play MycroPlanets Now

Soul Development and the Planets, pt 2
Yesterday we discussed the inner planets and their relation to soul development. We pick up the discussion with Uranus. Uranus is the planet of the wild, the unpredictable, of shocks and upsets. How then is Uranus related to soul development? The beginner soul may live a number of lives in a state of confusion and ineffectivenes, . . . Less developed souls are inclined to surrender their will to the controlling aspects of human society with a socio-ecomonic structure which causes a large prorportion of people to be subordinate to others. The inexperienced soul tends to be stiffled by a lack of independent thinking. They also lean towards being self centered and don’t easily accept others for who they are. pg 127, Journey of Souls (more…)

      Soul Development and the Planets
December 3, 2007 In “Journey of Souls” and “Destiny of Souls”, Michael Newton, Ph.D.,describes multiple levels of soul development, progressing from newly created souls to souls who eventually merge with the Source of all creation. Earth is just one of many environments where a soul gains knowledge and wisdom by working through challenges. These books do not talk about astrology, because that is not the point of the work. However, in reading these books it becomes easy to ascribe the functions of the planets to soul developement, providing a unique perspective on the planets. The Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars describe the the body, the conditions of the body and the mental workings of the body. They are the “physical expression of our identity”. Though theoretically any soul could work in any body, body selections are taken very seriously to maximize soul growth. The same theme is echoed in “Astrological Revelations” by John Wi

      "Why do planets spin?"
"Why do planets spin?" and had us all stumped. Why? Why was the matter that formed the Earth spinning? Why does every-thing in the universe, from galaxies down to atoms, spin? I think it is related to the effect that we haveseen when a skater who has arms extended and is slowly spinning suddenlypulls the arms into the body surface. The result is that spin rate increas-es. To even spin faster the skater will be standing straight with the armsup over the head. This makes the distributions of mass as close toe thespin axis as possible and makes the spin as large as possible. The mainidea is that angular momentum is conserved, i.e., cannot change. Angularmomentum is the product of the spin rate and the moment of inertia (ameasure of the distribution of the mass about the axis of rotation). Theproduct is constant. If mass is widely dispersed as before condensing intoa planet, and is very slowly rotating, then when it condenses into a planet(making a small moment of inertia) the rat

Does dark matter have a measurable effect upon the orbits of planets?
Dark matter represents about 23% of the total mass-energy of the Universe, or about 5.8 times the mass of ordinary matter. Dark energy, an entirely different thing, makes up the remaining 73%.Dark matter doesn't impact the orbits of planets significantly. Because we don't know how to detect dark matter directly, it is hard to know its exact distribution. Most of the mass of local dark matter is located in a halo surrounding our galaxy (likewise for all other galaxies), but whether that means we are in an area devoid of dark matter or not isn't certain. But even if there is dark matter around us, its density would be both low and nearly uniform- imagine a thin gas made of dark matter. The orbits of the planets are dominated by the large mass concentration of the Sun (and to a small extent, Jupiter). Neither a thin gas of dark matter around us, nor the much greater mass found outside our visible galaxy, can affect planetary motion.

Supergrass - Life On Other Planets
Fourth album by the Oxford-formed indie act who shot to fame in the UK in 1995 with their no.2 single, 'Alright'. 'Life On Other Planets' was produced by Tony Hoffer who has worked with Air and Beck; and was recorded in Sussex and Wales. It includes the singles, 'Grace' and 'Never Done Nothing LikeThat Before'. Much was made of the "maturity" of Supergrass's previous album, so much that you'd expect their fourth, Life on Other Planets, to utterly abandon their summer-pop roots. Thankfully, this is not so. From the opening "Za", it's clear that they're keeping adulthood firmly at bay. With its jaunty piano, wailing backing vocals and 70s rock & roll guitars, it's so naturally ebullient you're forced to accept that Supergrass have a youthful feel-good factor in their genetic makeup. And this is far from a one-off example. "Seen the Light" returns to the breezy rush of "Alright", only with added birdsong, sheep-noises and Elvis impersonations, while "Brecon Beacons" is a rac

I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Planets: The Comics of Fletcher Hanks
I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Planets: The Comics of Fletcher Hanks When I first read about this book I knew exactly what I was getting. The image of "Stardust" was etched in my skull from the back cover of "Men Of Tomorrow: Geeks, Gangsters, and the Birth of the Comic Book", by Gerad Jones. Fletcher Hanks has to be the Ed Wood of comics. The stories are so wild, that you enjoy the stupidity of it all. The gem in this book is Paul Karasik’s story of "Whatever Happened to Fletcher Hanks". This story is either a tribute to It’s a Good Life, If You Don’t Weaken by Seth or just about every fan-boy who lives in his basement searches for their heroes or misplaced youth. There are many parallels to Seth’s work, however, Fletcher is an evil crusted person unlike Seth’s Kalo, a make believe cartoonist from the New Yorker.  Read more>>sandbox world, tony medeiros

      Mars Planets
Oh people! Aren’t they idiots? More stupid than your average door handle. Less memory power than the piece of chewing gum I trod in today. They couldn’t remember their own name even if it was “x” and it was tattooed on the insides of their eye-lids. But surely they can remember the ingredients of a chocolate bar that has been made for over 70 years, cant we? The makers of the new Mars Planets advert are hoping they can’t. Because you see the great thing about Mars Planets is that you can mix them up to enjoy the great Mars taste your own way. There’s chewy caramel. Heaven. Who doesn’t like the soft nougat? Bring it on. Oh and the crispy wafer. Woo mama! What? No, hang on, there’s no crispy wafer in Mars Bars. No, no, you’re thinking of Kit-Kats. Or that Kinder Bueno. Or them there Maltesers. New Solar system has 12 planets
We all know that our solar system has 9 planets, but last year NASA came up with the proposal of 12 planets and the count might further increase by end of this year.Few months ago there was debate whether to consider Pluto as planet or not. But NASA decided to go ahead with the current status of Planet that Pluto enjoys.According to the IAU panel's proposal,Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune would make up the classical planets.Ceres would be the lone member of a group termed dwarf planets. Pluto, Charon, and 2003 UB313 would form a new class, the icy plutons. This class would eventually include many more members—at least 41 already identified objects in the outer solar system, according to the Panel.12 Planets (Click the image for better resolution) -The three new planets in comparison to Earth in size (Click the image for better resolution) -

The Astrology of Dwarf Planets and Asteroids
It was a few years ago that I became interested in the part that asteroids play in an astrological reading. I don’t remember what sparked that interest; I think it was something that I read about Chiron. Since that day I have always included several different asteroids in every chart that I do. There are around 10,000 named asteroids whose positions can be charted. Out of those I always tend to use Chiron, Juno, Vesta, Eros, Ceres and Pallas. I have started to include Hygeia mostly because I am interested in medicinal astrology and Hygeia is named for the Greek goddess of health. At this time I am mostly studying the affect that she has in natal charts. Sometimes I pick asteroids to include just to humor myself and to see where they fall. For example, when I was adding asteroids to my husbands chart, I added Tesla, who helped lay the foundation for modern communications, and Amphitrite, the goddess of the sea. I was more than amused to find that both of these were located

UPDATE: 3 New Planets? or Goodbye, Pluto
I previously wrote about the IAU’s draft update to the definition of the term “planet” which, if passed, would solidify Pluto’s long-debated status as a planet and would instroduce three other bodies as planets, Ceres, Charon and 2003 UB313. This draft has not gone through; instead, a different, more restricting definition of “planet” has been passed: A “planet” is a celestial body that (a) is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and (c) has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit. (http://www.iau2006.org/mirror/www.iau.org/iau0603/index.html) This new definition completely disqualifies Pluto from “planethood”, as its orbit intersects with that of Neptune, violating part (c) of the definition. However, Pluto does fall under the newly created class of “dwarf planets”; smaller bodies w

      3 New Planets?
(click to enlarge) There is a possibility that the number of planets in our solar system will increase from 9 (or 8, depending on your position) to 12 next week. Will these 3 extra planets materialize from an extraordinary cosmic event, causing trillions of particles of space dust to rush together, pulling each other in towards three separate points of increasing gravitational force? Has a nearby supernova caused these planets to be released from their former star’s gravitational pull, only to be sent into orbit around our sun? No. These 3 planets will be created by a force far simpler than we can imagine, yet so powerful that it is virtually impossible for any one of us to escape its grasp. This force is none other than the media. Next week, the International Astronomical Union will gather to vote on a proposed change in the definition of the term “planet”. The current definition states that a planet is a large accelerated mass, which is not a star or a moon, in or

Earth-like planets may be more common than once thought, says new University of Colorado-Pennsylvania State study
More than one-third of the giant planet systems recently detected outside Earth's solar system may harbor Earth-like planets, many covered in deep oceans with potential for life, according to a new study led by the University of Colorado at Boulder and Pennsylvania State University. The study focuses on a type of planetary system unlike our solar system that contains gas giants known as "Hot Jupiters" orbiting extremely close to their parent stars - even closer than Mercury to our sun, said CU-Boulder researcher Sean Raymond. Such gas giants are believed to have migrated inward toward their parent stars as the planetary systems were forming, disrupting the space environment and triggering the formation of ocean-covered, Earth-like planets in a "habitable zone" conducive to the evolution of life, according to the new study."Exotic Earths: Forming Habitable Worlds with Giant Planet Migration" was published in the Sept. 8 issue of Science and authored by Raymond, Avi Mandell of both Penn
