Ex-Yank Doug Mientkiewicz agreed Monday to a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Mientkiewicz, 33, would get a $750,000, one-year contract if added to the 40-man roster. The deal also includes $750,000 in performance bonuses.

Actor Brad Pitt who first did a nude scene in the 1991 film “Thelma & Louise,” then in the 1994 film “Legends of the Fall,” the 2004 movie “Troy” and most recently in the 2007 Western “The Assassination of Jesse James,” has vowed to keep his clothes on while on screen. The short boat trip was hindered by choppy waters and rain which meant they had to go back to the dock. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were seen laughing and joking with their children, who were wearing life jackets. Last Saturday Hollywood’s most closely followed couple treated the kids to visits to the Field Museum in Chicago and a Borders book store. Jolie is in Chicago wrapping up the filming of her forthcoming film Wanted. She spent the week filming action packed sequences for the film ione of which involved a car chase and had Jolie sprawled on the bonnet of her car spewing led from two automatic weapons at badmen trying to mess with her. source
