I can't get over how incredible this is! My friend, Tadd Grandstaff (from Liberty U days), was interviewed earlier this week by none other than Tom Brokaw and the NBC nightly news. Tadd just recently planted a church in Burlington, NC (Pine Ridge Church) and they are blowing the doors off. NBC chose to highlight Pine Ridge as a means of reporting on the trend of young evangelical church plants sprouting up all over the US. Pretty incredible! Be sure to tune in tomorrow night (Friday, Nov. 30th) to NBC nightly news to catch it (But, according to Tadd, this could change at the last minute). Next Thursday, June 7th, seventeen folks affiliated with our congregation will journey to Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Here is the article:Seventeen people will be representing First Presbyterian Church on a mission trip to Pine Ridge, SD! The caravan will leave on Thursday, June 7th and return on Sunday, June 17th. A few will fly, the others will have a wonderful cross country drive, but all will enjoy learning more about our friends in Pine Ridge, their culture, their history and their goals. Cultural education is part of the trip, so half the day will be spent working and half learning and sharing. Gary Barrigar and his grandson Sloan, Lee Herrin and her sons Ian and Pat, Susan Allen, Devonna Coleman, Ed Speer, Lynn Williams and daughter Alison, Glynda Ramsey and daughter Merideth, Rebecca Nunley and daughter Kirby, Pat Buck and Donna and Robert Schwind will be making the journey. A reader asked me a question recently in regard to lot sales in Pine Ridge. Homesites in Pine Ridge are one acre or more.Q: "I am interested in how many lots have sold in Pine Ridge the last six months and if there is any positive momentum in this area. Do you know what the average selling price of a lot in Pine Ridge is averaging?A: In the past 6 months, 30 lots (1 acre or larger) have closed.Currently, there are 11 lots under agreement but have not closed as oftoday. This shows a definite increase in activity. However, lots must bepriced correctly or they will not sell.To answer your second question, most of the one acre lots that are not located on the golf course, and are now pending, were listed in the were listed in the 60s and 70s.
