Museu Picasso is another must visit when in Barcelona. Although there are several Picasso museums, the one in Barcelona is the first and only one established on the express wish of the artist. Yesterday I drove from Dubai to Abu Dhabi with my wife in 38C to see the Picasso exhibition that runs until September 4th at the Emirates Palace Hotel. Entrance is free, and I suppose a broad brush estimate of the worth of the 188 works on display would be around $3 billion, almost as much [...]

The forthcoming exhibition Picasso in The Hague covers his entire career and reveals his untiring urge to experiment. The works on show will include not only oil paintings, but sculpture, drawings, prints and ceramics. In addition, Roberto Otero’s photographs of the mediagenic artist will provide an intimate insight into his turbulent life, in which work and private life were invariably closely intertwined. The earliest item in the exhibition is a sketch which Picasso made of his father in 1899, when he was on

Puerto Banus plays host to some of the coast´s best restaurants, but one of the most popular eateries in the port is Pizzeria Picasso.
Situated on the water´s edge with a large terrace and great views of the Marina, this popular eaterie ranks amongst one of the busiest in Puerto Banus.
Long queues form outside Picasso´s in the Summer months, and although there is no booking system, the tables are turned over quickly, and you will never have to wait long to be seated.
Although Picasso´s specialises in Pizzas, which also prove to be a great favourite with the younger diners, there are many more dishes to choose from – all of which are equally delicious!
Our favourites include the Spaghetti Vongole, prepared with home made pasta and fresh seafood, Veal Al Limon, pan fried with white wine and shallots, Pepperoni, Onion and Mozzarella Pizza, baked to crispy perfection in the stone oven, and Fillet Steak Pizzaola, served with spaghetti and a fresh tomato and cheese sauce.

Andalucia has many great museums dedicated to a wide range of people and activities. One of the most important opened in Malaga on the 27 October 2003 when a museum dedicated to one of Malaga’s favorite son Pablo Picasso opened its doors to the public for the first time.
The museum is probably the most important museum in the world dedicated to the work of Picasso as it is in the birth town of the famous artist and sculptor.
The museum became a reality thanks to donations from the artists oldest son’s widow Christine Ruiz-Picasso, who gave 133 pieces of work 14 paintings, 9 sculptures, 44 drawings, a sketchbook from the Royan series containing a further 36 drawings, 58 engravings and 7 ceramic pieces and 22 pieces from the artists grandson Bernard. It is also due to the tireless work of the Autonomous Government of Andalucia who wished to build a museum devoted to an artist whose styles and techniques changed the course of modern art.
The museum is constantly holding exhibits of

Yesterday, a friend and I drove down to Picasso's restaurant for a taste of Spain. This small eatery in downtown San Jose specializes in Tapas and Paellas. Being a Saturday night the restaurant was packed and we were lucky to get our table almost immediately. The walls, no surprise, are decorated with prints of Spain's most famous cubist painter whose name adorns the restaurant. Like everyone else in the restaurant we ordered Sangria for drinks. Sangría is a wine punch from Spain. The word sangría comes from the Spanish sangre meaning blood. It typically consists of red wine, chopped fruit (in our case, apple), a sweetener such as honey or orange juice, a small amount of added brandy, triple-sec or soda. Interestingly, the locals will never order Sangria in a bar; it is something you will only serve in house parties. So, bar sangria in Spain is aimed almost exclusively at tourists. We ordered some small plates from the Tapas menu. The Salteado de Champinones y Setas was an assortmen

Right after the second world war, Picasso got invited in a castle in Antibes to paint the walls by his on and unique ways. More than hundreds of paintings and sculptures later, using what the rest of war permitted for artists (litteraly like older paintings, doors, pieces of wood). As the artist said once, one who wish to view the Picasso from Antibes must come to Antibes. And since, the castle has become a museum. Which is now in renovation. Guess what ? A beautifully restored 17th-century palace that gives you more for your millions, The estate of Tenaglie, south of Orvieto, on which the house stands, has a dramatic history involving feuding families, money, murder, popes and football, thus according exactly with British expectations of Italy. According to research by David Giachini, the son of the present owner, Tenaglie was owned originally by the Baschi family, who had for centuries ruled the area from nearby Carnano Castle. After a gruesome massacre of a rival family branch in 1553, the Baschi estates were confiscated by the Pope, who invited the local population to tear down Carnano Castle. The ruins are still visible from Palazzo Ancajani today.

image on poster is a large sculpture by Peter Carter I finally got to see the Picasso ceramics exhibition today with a friend and the Picasso Explored exhibition by the LSA, a collection of paintings inspired by Picasso. http://www.leicestermuseums.ac.uk/news/ link to the museum website I enjoyed the ceramics but his work just doesn't reach me in the way that more painterly works do. They were playful, fun, crudely painted, the combining of form and image was interesting - I've seen cave paintings using the same technique of simplification and using the form of the support (rocks in their case) to enhance the swell of muscle and form of the subjecgt - but better and painted in a much more interesting (to me) way by the cave painters! Standing in front of the cave paintings and seeing the subtle and clever use of colour and form and sheer life of the animals is an emotional experience - the Picasso pots simply didn't have that effect - simply an 'oh yeah, interesting' move on res

Get three digital cameras and be a Digital Picasso, is easy, you can make your own in few seconds.
How to do it:
1. Find a couple of digital cameras - the bigger the viewing screen, the better.
2. Hold the cameras over crucial facial points as if you are going to take uncomfortably close-up pictures of them. We recommend eyes and mouth. The viewing screen will magnify them.
3. Take yet another digital camera and take a picture of the whole arrangement. The result is a Digital Picasso. Play around with the arrangements of the viewing screen cameras to make the Picasso even weirder. TECH NERD HINT: Try taking your pictures in macro mode, which is good for close-ups. Macro mode is usually indicated by a flower icon.
4. Send your Digital Picassos to us at digitalpicassos@gmail.com, and we’ll post them.
It’s great isn’t it?

The Grossbardt Picasso Ring is wonderfully crafted, the inlay is with an attention to detail, evenly and smoothly finished. The surface of the Grossbardt Picasso Ring is just whimsical for lack of a better word. The enamel work is exquisite. I understand that there are pins and other pieces by this designer. Caterpillars, pendants, bangle bracelets and various butterflies that were also fabulous will be collectibles of the future. The bangle bracelets are especially nice as they will fit a lady with a smaller wrist size. With the history and the jewelry business this designer is a designer of the first-order and I feel good about recommending Grossbardt Picasso Ring, it's truly one of a kind! And the design is an excellent tool for a conversationalist to get some dialogue started. Often the sign of a well made ring is a finish work on the inside of the band and the inside of this band is smooth just another indication of good craftsmanship. click picture to enlargeOur friendly Picasso Bug is seen again interrupting a pleasant siesta. He won't understand why he won't be welcome if the field workers wake up. Original scratchboard etching inspired by the 1919 pencil drawing of the Master. The Picasso Bug is an actual insect that lives in Africa. His colorful form and unique name inspired this series.
