one of the neat things about seeing the different cosplay (costume-wearers) people in harajuku is how foreign tourists can't take enough photos! it's really odd: many tourists will be wearing awkward grins (like grandparents reacting to nipple piercings) but forget their mixed emotions long enough to snap a few dozen photos.

I am already annoyed this morning, so much so that I feel the need to use the same exact angry Jack picture from the previous post in this one as well. This should be a fine outing today. I’m convinced that at 26 I’m already turning into a curmudgeonly old man. My hands even feel like fine sandpaper.
Meanwhile, the very first thing I see when I turn Morning Joe on this morning is a story focusing on a 14 and a 15 year old who work as paparazzi photographers. Fantastic. Way to make me dislike the paparazzi even more; make them younger and indefinitely more irritating. I guess there’s no child labor laws stopping them since they’re basically self employed, but do we really need to have a bunch of kids snapping photos of Britney going commando? Do you charge Britney with corruption of a minor if that happens?

Whenever I’m at weddings or gatherings, I try to bring my beloved S5 IS along to capture the beautiful and awkward moments. There times I wished to have a better camera that is able to capture that right moment, as in no blurry objects, no red-eye effects, clearer macro objects and many more.
Taking a look at those advertising posters, I feel envious because they are able to capture that moment that may not come again. They even managed to capture the right mood for the poster that meant something.
Animal photography is of another matter. It’s never easy but when I see blogs that contain animal photos with a certain pose, I feel so inadequate. Now, with the advice of those in Still Print, I won’t have to worry about taking another not perfect photo for that moment I want to capture in time.

RenegadePR, a public relations and photo representation agency based in California, hosted Renegade Photo Shoot 2007: NYC on the streets of Manhattan October 17. This inaugural shoot brought together an eclectic mix of photographers – wedding, fashion, beauty, commercial, sports, environmental and paparazzi – to shoot varied assignments at five locations.
During the afternoon, photographers toked shots on sites around Manhattan. They used their own gear as well as equipment provided by Lexar Media, Nikon and California Sunbounce light enhancers. An expert outlined the assignment and provided tips and tricks for the best capture.

The Royal Photographic Society is offering a range of different bursary schemes for the benefit of young image makers.
These fundings will be available for members and non-members in 4 types:
1. To support professional or potential professional photographers in commercial photography. This Jeff Vickers FRPS Genix Imaging Bursary (http://www.genix.co.uk) is in support of young photographers (up to the age of 30) who are in commercial professional practice or who can demonstrate that they will become involved (excluding photojournalism which is covered by The Joan Wakelin Award).
2. To support postgraduate students undertaking photographic research or studying Masters courses in photography. These Postgraduate Bursaries are open to bids from Course Leaders of Masters courses or Research Directors in Photography at UK Colleges and Universities for nominating students, no more than one per institution.
3. To enable young photographers to attend selected Society Regional and Group events

Fast Glass For Challenging Shooting!
In the Nikon Lens Posting, long focal lengths were the way to go. In this posting, as I understand there are many a photographer who work the wedding circuit, fast glass is preferred, especially when you work in churches lit by candle light, and flashes are restricted.
