Mamas Don’t Let Your Kids Grow Up To Be Paparazzi Photographers
I am already annoyed this morning, so much so that I feel the need to use the same exact angry Jack picture from the previous post in this one as well. This should be a fine outing today. I’m convinced that at 26 I’m already turning into a curmudgeonly old man. My hands even feel like fine sandpaper. Meanwhile, the very first thing I see when I turn Morning Joe on this morning is a story focusing on a 14 and a 15 year old who work as paparazzi photographers. Fantastic. Way to make me dislike the paparazzi even more; make them younger and indefinitely more irritating. I guess there’s no child labor laws stopping them since they’re basically self employed, but do we really need to have a bunch of kids snapping photos of Britney going commando? Do you charge Britney with corruption of a minor if that happens? I swear to Christ if they do end up making a million dollars before they hit 20 I’m selling my soul to the devil and jumping right into the papar

Ad Photographers Show Why They Are Good
Whenever I’m at weddings or gatherings, I try to bring my beloved S5 IS along to capture the beautiful and awkward moments. There times I wished to have a better camera that is able to capture that right moment, as in no blurry objects, no red-eye effects, clearer macro objects and many more. Taking a look at those advertising posters, I feel envious because they are able to capture that moment that may not come again. They even managed to capture the right mood for the poster that meant something. Animal photography is of another matter. It’s never easy but when I see blogs that contain animal photos with a certain pose, I feel so inadequate. Now, with the advice of those in Still Print, I won’t have to worry about taking another not perfect photo for that moment I want to capture in time. Looking at those various photos that show you the numerous shots they have taken and attempting to read the meaning behind the photos, one can’t help but wonder, do I have wh

      Five Fantastic Flickr Photographers
Want more artist highlights, great photos, Photoshop tips, and articles on photography? Subscribe to Epic Edits today so you don’t miss a thing. As I’ve recently become more active with Flickr, I’ve encountered some amazing photographers. I realize that I’ve only seen a glimpse of the artists out there, and I’m truly excited to continue exploring this community. Out of my 100+ contacts (which isn’t many at all), I find myself being drawn to the works of a select few. Here are five photographers who absolutely amaze me. MARTIN GOMMEL - Germany I admire Martin’s amazing landscape photography and his incredible ability to capture a scene. His images are extremely well thought out and it’s easy to tell that he aims for perfection. They convey a true sense of scale and many of his landscapes look too good to be real. I’m also a fan of Martin’s architecture photos and his black & white work. Martin also has a phot

Christmas For Photographers... Fast Lens ( Canon Edition )
Fast Glass For Challenging Shooting! In the Nikon Lens Posting, long focal lengths were the way to go. In this posting, as I understand there are many a photographer who work the wedding circuit, fast glass is preferred, especially when you work in churches lit by candle light, and flashes are restricted. The USM Canon EF 50mm at f/1.2 is a fast and high grade lens of the Canon L caliber. Low light situations become much less problematic, and portraiture with amazingly out of focus backgrounds, will be a breeze. If the photographer you have in mind, doesn't already own one of these gems, I'm sure it will be much appreciated during their next indoor/evening photo-session! ( Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras ) If a long zoom is still the way you'd like to shop for your Canon photographer, then I can whole heartedly recommend the 70-200mm USM, f/2.8 telezoom, great for portraiture, closeup shots, sports, and wildlife. The lens is fast, silent, a

Christmas for Photographers... New DSLR Bodies ( Canon Edition )
Extra Pro Bodies From The Canon Camp! As a followup to my Nikon DSLR Body Christmas posting, let's take a look at the Canon offerings for gift shoppers, looking to find a new body for their Canon photographer! Fresh off the manufacturing line is the Canon 40D. A strong upgrade to the 30D body, with just about every specification upgraded or improved upon. If the one you are shopping for is the proud and happy owner of a 10D, 20D, or perhaps one of the Rebel line cameras and has been thinking of upgrading, the 40D will prove to be an excellent upgrade choice. ( Canon EOS 40D 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) ) But, say your friend wants to REALLY upgrade, or is the proud owner of a 1-series camera... perhaps the Mark II? Well, Canon has you covered as well, as they have introduced the Canon 1D Mark III. 10 mega pixels and incredible shooting speeds, makes this camera body a must have for the serious wildlife, sports, and fast action photographers. Christmas For Photographers... The Lens ( Nikon Edition )
That Longed For Lens Perhaps, your friend already has an extra body, or perhaps a second body isn't what's on that Christmas wishlist! Perhaps... it's one of those prized lenses! The favorite all around tele zoom lens is the 70-200mm f/2.8, an all around performer and great for sports, people, and wildlife photography. This lens is heavier than some consumer grade lenses, but the durability, clarity, and reach are all excellent. ( Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras ) But, what if the lens they want is one they can just keep on their camera and shoot subjects, but near and far? Wide and long? Well, that's where the 18-200mm VR lens comes into play! This lens is widely desired and popular for folks who don't want to carry around a large assortment of lenses or heft a heavy lens. This lens gives you a nice wide angle view at 18mm and good closeup at the 200mm end. The lens is equipped with Vibration Reduction(VR),

      Christmas For Photographers... 2007!
What To Buy For the Shutterbug This Christmas? ( Gift Shopping For The Nikon Shutterbug ) Got a loved one or friend who's shooting with a Nikon camera? Well, if there's one thing that my friends and family have figured out... I'm hard to shop for. Most folks who are really into a particular activity, will usually have it in mind, what they want. For the Nikon shooter, there is, of course, a choice list of things, which one might want... this is, of course, only a suggestion and the actual person you are shopping for, may already have the item(s) and/or have other things they want. Never hurts to ask!
