I'm a big fan of the singer/songwriter Andrew Peterson. A friend of mine and I saw him open for Nicole Nordeman in a concert that took place in the gym of Houston Baptist University just about five years ago. We both loved his folksy mellow music, his humor and his lyrics.
This past Christmas, Amanda, Terry and I, along with some friends and their three children, saw his Behold the Lamb
New York Mets’ pitching coach Rick Peterson joined Rob Dibble and Kevin Kennedy on XM radio’s MLB Home Plate channel to talk about the state of the Mets’ pitching staff.Peterson immediately received questions about working with Johan Santana. One might think that the savvy, technologically-oriented Peterson would have gone on to say that he actually noticed flaws in Santana’s mechanics and has found a way to make his changeup more devastating.Instead, Peterson spoke about how much he is looking forward to learn from Johan. He wants to learn what makes Johan so great and apply that knowledge to teaching some of the younger pitchers. One thing Peterson was able to pick up on was Santana’s work ethic. Peterson mentioned during the interview that, “…preparation equals performance.

A day after returning from a knee injury, Peterson ducked into the Vikings’ training room Monday. It was a brief visit. The 49ers’ were lucky. The team faces the rookie dynamo on Sunday at Monster Park that is still looking for a fraction of the offensive excitement Adrian Peterson has delivered for the Minnesota Vikings. The Number 7 pick in the draft leads the National Football League with 1,197 rushing yards, even though he missed 2 matches because of his injured knee
Obviously, Brian K. Vaughan has had some creative writing classes. Unimaginative ones. He pays homage to them in Swamp Thing #3, an atrocious done-in-one set on a crabbing ship. The issue opens all right–Tefé keeps trying to get her narration right… until Vaughan reveals it isn’t Tefé narrating, but one of her shipmates, a young writer writing a chapter in her voice. Taken under those conditions–the narration being for a novel and not a comic book–it’s terribly written (a big problem with the story is it’s never clear whether or not the writer is supposed to be bad… I mean, I think he’s a complete douche bag, but I also think writing a story like this one is the act of a douche… so iit’s unclear). I mean, to continue the paranthetical free of the curved lines, if the guy’s just a shitty writer who goes crazy then it’s just about a crazy guy… if it’s about an author… well….

The Vikings have made RB Adrian Peterson questionable for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, by definition meaning there is a 50 percent chance he could play two weeks after tearing the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. “It went well this week,” said Peterson, who practiced for the third consecutive day. “It’s a day-to-day thing, so I’ll come in tomorrow and see how it goes.” Reported by Kevin Seifert, Minneapolis Star-Tribune

I have a hard time believing that the Vikings would take such a risk rushing Peterson back for 2 reasons: #1 The team isn’t going to make the playoffs and #2 They have a very good running back in Chester Taylor. The original target date for his return is Dec 2nd
Adrian Peterson has a torn ligament in his knee.
"Luckily", it is his Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL) rather than his ACL, MCL or PCL. This should allow him to return yet this season.
Also, the Vikings are claiming that Purple Jesus could even return to practice early in Week 12.
THe consensus opinion, however, puts All Day out for 2-4 weeks and I have absolutely no idea why the Vikings
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson will miss Sunday’s game against Oakland with a torn ligament in his right knee, coach Brad Childress said Monday. Childress said Peterson tore his lateral collateral ligament in the Vikings’ 34-0 loss to Green Bay. Peterson will not require surgery, Childress said. “The good news is that the knee is otherwise stable and the injury is isolated to that ligament,” Childress said. “I’m told that’s a good-healing ligament.” Childress said the injury is not a season-ending injury, but he did not talk about when Peterson might be back. “I’m real hesitant to put a timeline on that thing,” Childress said. We hope you backed up this work horse with Chester Taylor, who was a 1200 yard back last year. The good news is that he’ll be back this season and the bad news is we don’t know when.
Relaunching Swamp Thing has proved quite the pickle for Vertigo… unless Warner Bros. manages to turn it in to a successful action movie starring Vin Diesel as Swamp Thing and Emilio Estevez as Alec Holland, I think the franchise is going to be dormant for quite a while. I’ve got a lot of love for all the Swamp Thing series and I can really appreciate Brian K. Vaughan’s take on it. He’s stuck with following up Millar’s impossible large ending to the series–Swamp Thing holding on to the damn planet–and he manages to bring it down real fast, real well, moving the setting to a high school with the Swamp Thing connection muted (for the first issue anyway). He has a nice bit of narration from Abby, surprising characterization… very well done first issue to restart a franchise (something Andy Diggle later did poorly).
However.
I read the first two issues because the first issue ends with things in motion, figured the second issue would continue it. To some ex
Well I hate to repeat MVP’s but this week I had no choice. For the second time this years the honor goes to half man, half God, Adrian Peterson. When you break a record the size of the single game rushing record you get the nod.
In case you missed it AP posted 296 yards and three touchdowns. He is the first rookie ever to go over the two hundred mark twice in the same season.
Just think of how much more dangerous the guy would be if he had even an average passing to keep the defense honest. Scary (unless your a Vikings fan like your truly anyway). (more…)

Sometime during his record breaking demolition of the Sand Diego defense, Adrian Peterson had to know that he was doing something special. If he did, you wouldn't know it, because this guy is simply a class act. Peterson is modest and soft-spoken, but it's his confidence that sets him apart from most running backs in the NFL. He expects to get nearly 300 yards a game, but doesn't boast when he
The NFL put a limit on video highlights the media can use and yanks things off YouTube faster than Goodell can suspend someone. At least they are doing something with it on their end. The record breaking performance by Adrian Peterson yesterday is chronicled for your viewing pleasure HERE.
It appears that every touch Peterson had is in this highlight clip. Kudos to NFL.com on this one! I was able to watch the last quarter of this game but thanks to this video I can feel somewhat like I seen all of the historic performance.
Even the run that Peterson lost the fumble on was a monster run. Ironic that the game was against the Chargers, who usually run all day on the opponent…at least in years past. I may have been looking a little far into it but as I was watching the 4th quarter of the game I was thinking it was an appropriate opponent with Tomlinson on the other side. A changing of the guard in a way.

Vikings HC Brad Childress said today that RB Adrian Peterson’s role “will increase as we go through the rest of the football season.” How it will increase is unclear, but before taking questions in his news conference, Childress made a point to address his strategy of rotating Peterson with RB Chester Taylor. “We understand here that we have a great talent in Adrian Peterson,” Childress said, “and we are trying to grow him just like we attempt to grow all of our young guys. I am sure his role will increase…but there will be times and situations where situations will dictate that we have other folks in the football game.” Reported by Judd Zulgad & Kevin Seifert, Minneapolis Star-Tribune
I'm sure all you readers know that I am far from a Vikings fan. However, almost all of my friends are and I've seen quite a bit of Vikings football and I would like to make an announcement: Adrian Peterson is the REAL DEAL!I was sceptical at first, thinking that the Vikes should have taken a QB (probably Quinn) in the 1st round. I now believe that they made the best pick in the draft in getting a guy with arguably the most talent to come out of the draft since LT. Before the season he seemed like a solid/safe choice for NFC ROY being as the Vikings still didn't have much of a QB and a weak group of WRs. In 6 short weeks (5 including a bye) he has proved he is THE pick for NFC ROY, not just a probably candidate.Obviously, being a rookie he has a lot to learn. He's not a great pass catcher yet, and he still has room to work on his blocking. However, I do agree with Complete Sports in saying that, "I think that Adrian Peterson is already the most explosive RB in the NFL with the ball

Detroit house legend Kenneth Dixon Jr. (a.k.a. Moodymann), an outspoken voice in the world of electronic dance music, has made an exclusive appearance last week on Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 1 show.
In his first-ever UK radio interview, Dixon talks about Detroit, music business, records, skating and more. Judging by the actual interview he seems like a very down-to-earth guy. Here's our favorite quotes:"People pay too much attention to damn DJ, you know, but the talent is sitting on the turntables, you know."
"If you're looking for a hot DJ I'm probably the wrong person to call."
"There's only three things going to happen in Detroit. You're either going to sell or make cars, you're going to be a musician or you're going to be on drugs. There ain't too much in between that. You know, that's for a male. For female it would probably be prostitution."

The conviction was later overturned on DNA evidence pursued by the Innocence Project, which Scheck heads, Dennis Fritz was wrongfully
I just got my copy of A Long Obedience in the Same Direction, by Eugene Peterson. It happens to be the September selection for the Third Day Book Club. I'm excited to read it as it seems to be the kind of book where you can flip to any page at random and find some inspiration. In fact, that very thing just happened to me. I found this goodness on page 115:
The easiest thing in the world is to be a Christian. What is hard is to be a sinner. Being a Christian is what we were created for. The life of faith has the support of an entire creation an d the resources of a magnificent redemption. The structure of this world was created by God so we can live in it easily and happily as his children. The history we walk in has been repeatedly entered by God, most notably in Jesus Christ, first to show us and then to help us live full of faith and exuberant with purpose. In the course of Christian discipleship we discover that without Christ we are doing it the hard way and that with C
There was some concern about RB Adrian Peterson’s ability to stay healthy when he left Oklahoma after his junior season. Peterson’s first training camp has not dissuaded anyone from that theory. He missed five practices because of a hip pointer and was held out of some contact drills in three others, presumably to limit the pounding on his left collarbone, which he fractured last October and re-injured in January. Some veterans, including FB Tony Richardson, are advising him that he always will have to play through some pain in the NFL. Peterson is learning that lesson the hard way. The Vikings are calling RB Adrian Peterson’s injury a left hip pointer and say he is day-to-day. Apparently the injury is not as serious as it first appeared but it seems pretty unlikely Peterson will participate in the Friday or Saturday practices against Kansas City. RB Chester Taylor (bruised forearm) also seems likely to miss the event.

A freakish combination of size and speed, Peterson brings an explosive presence to the offense. One look at the quarterback and wide receiver situation will tell you that they are going to run the ball all day long. Of course, he brings the high risk factor due to his propensity to get hurt. Even with Chester Taylor and Melwede Moore on board, Peterson should outperform his current ADP.

Adrain Peterson is the best back in the draft, and this was a great pick by the Minnesota Vikings. Chester Taylor and Peterson will make a nice 1-2 punch for the Vikings, who with playing indoors at the Metrodome could have a great running game. Peterson is the home run hitter, can catch the football and could very well be the rookie of the year for the Vikings.
The quarterback spot is still iffy with Tavaris Jackson, but the chance to get a 6-1, 200 pound back with the speed of Peterson, there was no way that the Vikings should have passed on him for Brady Quinn. It is rare in this league to be able to get a back with the type of power and speed that Peterson has. Now of course there is the chance of a big injury, and his collarbone is a concern, but the upside on Peterson outweighs the injury that Peterson suffered last season.
If this story in SI is true, than Oklahoma RB Adrian Peterson might no longer be a top 5 pick. According to the story, Peterson re-injured his collarbone in the Fiesta Bowl, and might require surgery to properly heal. If so, he might be sidelined until the beginning of training camp or longer. Pictured is the dive that broke his collarbone back in October. One things for sure, this year's draft is anything but boring and predictable.
If the Browns don't get Joe Thomas, this would be my next choice. It is an area of need for the Browns, and until a good offensive line is in place, I think that generally a RB would be able to withstand the physical and mental beatings that come with playing behind the Cleveland line better than a QB could (Tim Couch comes to mind).Adrian Peterson is an awesome combination of power and speed, and has been compared to LaDanian Tomlinson and Eric Dickerson. He could be the franchise back the Browns have been searching for since returning to the league, provided the Browns have a good offensive line and he can stay healthy. Both of these are in doubt. Peterson has had a lot of serious injuries, ala Courtney Brown, but has been plagued by a lot of nagging, non-career threatening injuries (more like a Lee Suggs). My biggest fear about drafting him is that he will constantly be nursing some ailment, and I'm not the only one. On the other hand, he could be very healthy in the NFL where his

As of Feb. 7, Mel Kiper had Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson at number three on his "Big Board." Personally, I am thrilled to see this because (as most of my Gold Seat bloggers know) I want the Vikings to draft the Sooner running back. Yes, we do have Chester, but if we continue to run him as much as we did last year, we may very well want a two-headed running attack. This can work well for teams in such a rough and demanding league. It was poitned out by Justin the "Paper Champ" that many of the playoff teams this year went with a dual-back running attack. However, in a recent article* from the Houston Chronicle, someone close to the Browns said Cleveland is very intersted and almost certain they want Peterson with the third or fourth pick. That basically rules out any chance of the Vikings getting him at seven. Now the question is, who do the Vikes take? *= (see link for article: http://blogs.chron.com/nfl/2007/02/props

Didn't Adrian "Mr. Glass" Peterson make his intentions known sometime around his freshman year? Dynasty owners knew the Peterson Era would be a shortened one. The real impact here will be on whether the NFL Fantasy owners should draft a guy who has shown little durability despite his awesome potential, but we digress ... There are three RBs that you need to watch out for next season and a serious RBBC that could muck things up. Allen Patrick (705 RuYd, 4 RuTD) filled in nicely, but Chris Brown (327 RuYd, 5 RuTD) ended off the season strongest. DeMarco Murray is the redshirt question waiting in the wings.
Elsődleges műfaja a blues.Énekel, gitározik, Hammond B3-as orgonán játszik, s meglehetősen termékeny: több mint 300 album felvételein közreműködött, s ebből 9 a sajátja.Aki esetleg még nem ismerné, nézzen bele:Az albumon hallható felvételek:1. The Kansas City Chiefs travel up to Indianapolis for tomorrow's playoff game against the Colts. I have been in constant banter with Certified H8ter and Ayman in regards to this matchup.Certified H8ter tends to think that the Chiefs actually have a chance tomorrow up in Indy. He likes to talk about how awful the Colts run defense is and how LJ will exploit that.Certified H8ter fails to forget that the Colts are 8-0 at home, average over 30+ points a game at home, and won 12 games with that awful run defense.Oh, and Jared Black gets to try and stop Dwight Freeney. Go ahead and have the ambulance and body bag for Trent Green on standby.I have know Certified H8ter for years and I believe that he has finally overdosed on what is known as "King Carl's Kool-Aidâ„¢".The Chiefs are happy to just be in the playoffs but they don't stand a chance in hell of winning tomorrow. And after they lose tomorrow, that will up the streak to 14 years without winning a playoff game and 30+ years since
