Former Big Leaguer in the News…Pete Rose
Baseball’s all-time hit leader may be “permanently ineligible from baseball,” meaning he can’t play, coach or manage, but he is allowed to take part in public ceremonies before a game, and that is exactly what happened on June 10th when the Reds’ honored Joe Nuxhall. Take a look at the what the seventeen time All-Star and frequent caller to shady [...]

      Pete Rose - Cincinnati Reds
Back in March, while in Las Vegas, I saw Pete Rose at Caesars Palace signing autographs. He didn’t look all too happy to be there. Perhaps it was because there was nobody in line to get his signature. Or maybe he’s still angry he was never inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York [...]

      TUESDAY TEASE: Pete Rose
Pete Rose's life is a tease. He keeps trying to convince himself that if he comes clean of his betting record while managing the Cincinnati Reds, he will be reinistated and eligible to participate in Major League Baseball. He also keeps trying to convince us (the public) that his election into the National Baseball Halll of Fame is not an issue for him anymore. The life of Pete Rose is sad. He

The Ides of Pete Rose - The Admission
Well, this topic was touched on the “Hits Keeping Coming” Radio Show last night, but I missed posting about it since I was too busy planning for the radio show, plus dealing with my every day. All-time hits header, Pete Rose mentioned later on the radio yesterday that he bet on the Reds "every night" while he was manager of the team. That admission would be in line with that the Dowd Report said, as well as investigations done. He spoke Wednesday with Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann on ESPN Radio’s the “Dan Patrick Show” to discuss the new Pete Rose exhibit that will be on display at the Great American Ballpark as part of the Reds Hall of Fame; however, his admission seemed to just come out of the blue during the show. Soundclip: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2798498# "I bet on my team every night. I didn't bet on my team four nights a week. I was wrong," Rose said. Rose said that he believed in his team so much that he bet on them to win every night. "I

Podcasting and show downloads will be made available shortly...*** Wither A-Rod… Well, possibly the most conflicted athlete in the game, Alex Rodriguez has once again opined on his situation in New York and states he wants to stay in the Big Apple. He asserted on the Mike and the Mad Dog Show on WFAN: "You're asking me what my sincere feeling is. I want to 100 percent stay in New York. Period. That's it. I don't know how

      Pete Rose: “I’m sorry. That’ll be $500.”
So baseball’s all time-hit king is charging $500 for a signed Sports Illustrated Cover plaque that he’s inscribed, “I’m sorry I bet on baseball. –Pete Rose.” That’s right, he’s charging for his apology. If you have several hundred dollars, then Rose feels bad about what he did and wants to make it up to you by letting you pay mucho dinero for an unpersonalized, empty, and completely consumer-driver 6 word apology. Nice gesture, Pete. What Rose has done, however, is create a whole new area of collectables that is unfortunately appropriate in this era of error, where celebrated sports figures and celebrities constantly make grand mistakes causing their fans, and sometimes the whole public in general as in the case of Rose, to lose faith and respect for them. Yet what better way to make amends than in that grey area that connects the famous with just the us-signed memorabilia. There will always be demand for collectables of the famously shamed, and it turns out
