For the last month or so I have been spending time in my hometown with my family. I haven't had the time or to be honest, the heart to Blog. After a very long battle with cancer, my Father decided to rest last Monday. My Father was 80 years old and had he lived another 2 weeks, he would have been 81. On this Father's Day, I both honor and grieve for my Father, the man I affectionately call Iron

A quick personal note here...
My class and work load this Spring term 08 is pretty crazy.
I am gonna have to really cut out a lot of fun online sadly.
I will make an effort to get links up top still. Thanks!

I have to apologize for the lag in writing reviews, I have had a few life-changing events occur over the past few weeks:
1. I changed positions at my day job and my personal time has suffered quite a bit.
2. I got a Wii and then got Guitar Hero III… enough said.

Our great friend Grandpa passed away this morning. We found him wandering around the neighborhood in May; fur in patches, way underweight, with severe back and allergy problems. He's been to our vet at least one day a week since we found him - steroids, clavamox, baytril, elavil, etc . . . We took him in Friday for another short term steroid injection; this morning he developed severe respiratory problems - we rushed him to the vet but he was gone soon after we got there. He was a fighter and wanted to live.I promised myself I would not make this blog a personal diary or a "touchy-feely" narrative, but he was my friend, he was dealt a rotten hand, and he deserves a spot in the limelight. Say a goodbye prayer for Grandpa, if you would - I miss him terribly.
I've mentioned here a few times that the company where I worked for almost 29 years cut me lose this past March 22. It's hard for me to believe that it has already been seven months since that happened. I've also shared my struggle to find employment in any of the three local bookstores around me, two Barnes & Noble ones and one of the Borders chain. I had always figured to spend some time
Remember when I told you I received a personal response from Bob Bly? Remember when I said I would post it here?Yeah that was 2.5 months ago. Shame for shame. Here it is...finally:My note to Bob Bly (he asked for what we would like to see/read more of in his newsletters):Hello Bob!I enjoy all of your shared insights, thoughts and tips but along with RK I truly love your personal musings. I'd love to know more about how you've become who you are (again, agree with RK..you are an icon). In particular, I'd love to read more of your personal stories and insights you've gained through different experiences. Thanks so much for sharing with us!All the best,Lara Kay LoestBob Bly's Response:Thanks ... I will work on delivering what you've asked for!I wish I could figure out how to do a screen capture because I'd capture the email message itself and post it here for you. But again my technology savvy falls short.
Life is great! I would like to thank the fans of LOTR (Lifestyles of the Rich). The blog has reached a top ten ranking (9th) on Blog Toplist. Thank you.My new business venture is booming. It is exceding my wildest expectations. I had no idea that their was such a demand.I would like to apologize for the lack of postings though. The new venture is taking up most of my day. I'll rectify that today. I was suppose to play golf with a client today, but the weather put a stop to that. So today I have enough time.I would like to thank my friend G-Wee for the beautiful posting / review he did of this blog on his blog Wealth Wonders. Rest assured buddy, I'm one of your biggest fans too. By the way... I've never met G-Wee. He does not know me at all, and that makes his posting so great. Go check out his blog: He DOES post often. Keep up the good work.Below is a graph to illustrate how the popularity of LOTR has grown in the last couple of weeks. Once again: Thank you to all the fans. I do enj
When I started this blog three years ago I knew what I wanted to say, but I also realized that was not enough. So instead of just having opinions, I decided to back mine up with videos and reference links. I decided to research my thoughts. Consequently each post has days if not weeks of research behind it.I have managed over 500 posts in three years, and over a dozen blogs. Now it is paying off. Average readers now average 1500-3000 per day. Almost 25% of my readers spend 3-6 hours per day on my stuff. Another 33% up to an hour, the rest are standard surfers. Also personal attacks are increasing. This pleases me because I must be having an impact on all the brainwashed idiots out there.I want to thank my loyal readers for their continued patronage, and I promise more posts that are well researched, and backed up with more references and more videos. We are living in dangerous times, and not all is what it seems, and at least 1 out of four of you know this. Thanks!
