Dear Reader:As some of you have discovered, building an MLM business is not always a pleasant experience. It can be wrought with frustration and an increasing lack of interest as positive results are scarce, if visible at all. In addition, most of our visions are NOT shared by others. We walk to the beat of a different drummer. This coupled with the pressures of modern family life, put an extreme

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." -Calvin Coolidge"Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal: my strength li
"This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." -- Winston Churchill
Each year, increasing numbers of people around the world are becoming overweight; the worrying factor is that school children are also affected by this, according to recent studies. To cure this problem, some people have resorted to surgical measures whereas others have decided that adjustments to their food intake and an increase in physical activity [...]

The Persistence of Subjectivity: On the Kantian Aftermath# Author:Robert B. Pippin # Format:PDF 1.7MB# Page Count: 380 pages# Publisher: Cambridge University Press (May 2, 2005)# Language: English# ISBN-10: 0521613043# ISBN-13: 978-0521613040What might it mean to take seriously Hegel's claim that philosophical reflection is always reflection on the historical "actuality" of its own age? Discussing Heidegger, Gadamer, Adorno, Leo Strauss, Manfred Frank, and John McDowell, Robert Pippin attempts to understand how subjectivity arises in contemporary institutional practices such as medicine, as well as in other contexts such as modernism in the visual arts and in the novels of Marcel Proust.
The house of a person is the most valuable possession he has, for it is the landmark of his character and existence in society, but what happens when a pet invades it with dirty paws, and treads on the soft Persian rug in order to chew the leather armchair? It is the owner’s responsibility to train the dog as early as it enters the house, so that he learns what is sacred for you, hygiene and intact furnishings; it is very difficult to convince an old dog into adopting new behaviors in areas he’s been comfortable for too long, to suddenly change his old ways. The Slower It Is, the More Patient You Have to BeIt is important not to become angry and display negative gestures towards the pet the moment he leaves a trail of dirt or of foul smell: you need to have a considerable ammunition of
~A young man who meets a sage asks, "Which way is the path to success?" The nonchalant sage points to a place off in the distance. The young man, obviously thrilled by the quick and easy prospect of getting success, rushes off heading to the direction told by the sage. Splat!!! The young man limps back, bruised and stunned, assuming that he must had misinterpreted the message given. He repeats his question to the guru, who again points silently in the same direction. Once again, the young man obediently walks off once again to the direction he was told. This time the splat is even more deafening and when he crawls back, he is bloody, broken, and irate. "I asked you which way is success!" He screams at the guru. "I followed the direction you gave me! And all i got was splattered! Speak up w
Do you know what is one of the main causes for failure in a home based business environment? It is the lack of persistence. Many people lack persistence because they are not willing to keep on going when they see the first signs of defeat.

Sitting in my daughter's school the other day I was watching a game that the teacher was playing with the kids. The game consisted of a block of wood with some sockets in it and it had long cylindrical pegs that needed to be put in the sockets. The pegs were all of different sizes and the aim of the game was to put the right sized peg in the correct socket. At first the kids looked at it kind of indifferently but on a bit of encouragement and excitement they were all very interested in it.What I noticed was that most of them were persistent till they completed it or thought they had completed it. I have found that with kids - once something catches their attention they are very persistent to do it. They have an unclouded mind and they attack the problem with a goal in mind (the goal may no
Remember when I went to that seminar and got all inspired for obedience training? It was just a week and a half ago. But class got cancelled last week because of a blizzard, so I couldn't share my new-found gung-ho-itivity with my fellow handlers. Now, because the memory is a whole 10 days old, I have to check my notes before class tonight. There were so many absolutely brilliant points I wanted to present. If only I can find my notes....
This week has been pretty stressful for me academically. Remember the post I made about my course? From monday up to saturday, I was on the library studying my operating room procedures, principles and practices. We had our long test on friday and saturday and I slept late at night pretty late only to wake up in the morning facing the fact that I have to be on the same routine again. This brings me to a controversial question. . . Where do teens get their persistence to study?I can relate to people who drop out of school because of this stress but hey, thats not an option for me. I have to get good grades for my transcript, my children in the future and most of all, to myself. This only happens once in our life so why not get through it like everybody does? Its just a matter of mind setting.
I have always seen myself as someone with a very positive attitude; whenever I hear myself talking negative I correct myself and believe in positive self talk.
How many times would you have to “fail” before finally giving up? as winners never quit and quitters never win.
Consider the following case history of one particular individual;
Failed in business, aged 21
Defeated in legislative race, aged 22
Failed in business again, aged 24
Overcame death of his sweetheart, aged 26
Had a nervous breakdown, aged 27
Lost congressional race aged 34
Lost congressional race, aged 36
Lost senatorial race, aged 45
Failed attempt to become vice president, aged 47
Lost senatorial race, aged 49
Was elected President of the United States, aged 52
The man’s name was Abraham Lincoln…….
What’s your views on persistence and having a positive attitude?

By: Piercarla GarusiI went recently to see the movie 'The Pursuit of Happiness'; if you haven't seen it, please go, it is great. It could be the story of so many of us and it is about some of the most important qualities we need in order to succeed and be happy. It begins with a dream...well it is a dream we all have...to be happy...a good life...but for some people, maybe someone you know, maybe you, it seems that things do not really work out, and difficulties keep coming up. Maybe you have experienced a difficult beginning in life, and you feel this is still preventing you from being the best you can be, and you feel disadvantaged, scarred. Or maybe you have experienced in the course of your life pain, redundancy, loss, separation, or else, and you feel that your energy is depleted. And what happens to many of us after a while that we keep 'struggling', the mind might begin to become negative and there might be the temptation to give in to difficulties. And maybe we start lookin

Anything that defies my sense of reason has, since the posting of a translation of Gianfranco Sanguinetti’s near-faultless On Terrorism and the State article, been dormant. There are several reasons for this. One is that of an absence of time to do justice to the abundance of subjects about which to write, rant, and endeavour to provide some “value-add” for regular readers and countless other people who land here searching the Internet for their version of 'my sense'. Another reason for the...

Today is indeed a very good day for our young Malaysian student, Yee Yang Yang. :-)Looks like his university, UPM has decided that all the jabs and uppercuts that they had received from both students and human rights groups recently was simply too much for them to handle. UPM finally realized that something is not quite right had happened in the confiscation of Yee Yang Yang’s laptop and mobile phone on the 15th of September.MalaysiaKini has more on this story.Congratulations to those students and human rights groups whose persistence in helping Yee Yang Yang in his predicament have forced UPM to reconsider their harsh decision. Personally, I am very proud with what you had shown to all Malaysians recently. :-)As for the Malaysian Malay (Melayu) community, you can learn a lot from Yee Yang Yang’s incident. Determination and persistence would pay dividends in any fight for justice. The Malaysian Malay community must follow the examples shown by our young Malaysian Chinese students o
I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday and she was talking about one of her goals. She had been wanting to purchase a house for the past year, and a mortgage broker told her that it would be impossible to purchase her house because of something on her credit. Since they told her that, she has basically given up and has settled on living in her apartment. I told her that if they really wanted to purchase the house, there is a way, it may not happen today, but if she gave up, chances are she will never purchase the house.I remember when I purchased my first house I was 27 at the time. I had set my goal to purchase my first house at the age of 25. It took me two years to accomplish my goal. When I finally did accomplish it though it felt awesome. Why do most people give up on their goals when someone tells them "No?" If I gave up on my goals because someone said no, I would still be working at a JOB I hated, and I would never have found my journey of personal development. I do not care what

It was bedtime. Thirsty little John wants to drink some water. So he went out of his room to ask permission from his dad who's watching late night news in the living room. John: Dad, may I have a glass of water? Dad: No, you better get back to your room and sleep. John obeyed his father. But after a few minutes, he went out again. John: Uhh, Dad, may I have a glass of water? Dad: John, I said no. It's time for you to rest. If you are going to go out one more time, I'm going to spank you. A few minutes later, John went out of his room again. John: Dad, after you spank m
