Silly horses had a couple of hours out in the pasture today and the past couple of days. Saturday, they came in with a whistle. Yesterday, I actually had to go out with the lunge whip and coax them in. Today, just the whistle, but as I was walking to close the electric ribbon gate, Kola spotted me and looked me in the eye for a moment and then it was a race to close the gate, which is why
PASTURE MANAGEMENT
Pasture can be the most economical source of feed for carabao production under ranch operation. But this would entail proper management of the forage land which is essential to maintain its maximum productivity and utilization, and sustain a year round supply of feeds.

ABQjournal Metro: Village Creates Working Pasture: "Los Ranchos de Albuquerque residents take pride in their pastoral way of life, but it won't stay that way on its own.The village has enacted zoning laws to keep out high-density development, and now almost 50 acres north of Paseo del Norte between Rio Grande and Fourth NW is being transformed into a working pasture and wildlife habitat."Albuquerque Home SearchAlbuquerque Real Estate News
Mom and daddy Len went on their first bike ride of 2008 this past weekend, because it was finally warm enough. Look! They saw some more of my animal friends!
They saw some pretty horses, and...

We were in Annecy in 2005 at the beginning of October and stumbled upon this farmers' festival. It took me a while to figure out what the name of this festival was but I finally found it: Return from alpine pasture (Le Retour des Alpages). It takes place the second Saturday of October, every year. We just happened to visit Annecy on that Saturday and it was great...We sampled local food, saw a
Rounding up the complainantsPenny Mellor is losing her tight grip on the media. In the old days, everyone would have believed this housewife/ex prisoner and it would have been front page news. These days, they have to rely on IC Wales and a female reporter at the Daily Mail. There is no TV coverage and neither is there any broad sheet coverage. That is because no one apparently is convinced by her tales of fiction. Mellor likes sound bites. She likes to pitch various tales to the media. We are yet to see the evidence base of these tales. Actually, in one year we have never seen one shred of scientific evidence backing up her elaborate claims. In a week's time, Professor Southall is back in the GMC 's hearing. The GMC of course are a little too obstinate to consider the pattern of human behaviour here. The age old tactic of patient groups - to round as many people up to attack the victim. That is of course what is happening here. It happened to me, it has happened to other doctors an
Bugsy was a great rididng horse then he was attacked by dogs in his corral he dislocated his hip and shoulder. What is the state of your pasture? My pasture is small, however, I keep it open during the summer so the girls have running room. Last year I was able to keep in good standing with always something to nibble on. This year, mainly due to lack of rain, it has become a virtual dust bowl or dry lot. I always supplement with hay regardless. We did get a little rain last week and I've had a squeegee of new grass growth since but mainly enough to keep the dust down. I know I've heard of people flooding their pastures. How do you maintain your pasture? I'm curious to know. Please visit http://midwesthorse.blogspot.com/index.html

Had the girls locked in the paddock for a few days while I was working and to give the grass in the pasture a chance to grow. This is them, excited to get to the grass. It's always a short sprint and then an immediate stop and chew. Please visit http://midwesthorse.blogspot.com/index.html

They're pining fo pasture. My husband had just locked them in the paddock and they are not happy with us. I let them out into the pasture yesturday evening and let them stay out nearly twenty-four hours. When I called their names, they refused to make eye contact. I think it's funny. Of course they changed their tune when I marched out there with a flake of hay before I left for work. We're not spoiled at all. Please visit http://midwesthorse.blogspot.com/index.html

New Delhi April 10 (IANS) Since peace is the prerequisite for development, Mizoram is a green pasture for investment, according to Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga.
“I believe Mizoram is a green pasture for investment by companies, industrialists and other business houses… Processions, bandhs and dharnas, a daily occurrence elsewhere, seldom take place,” he said in a speech read out by state education minister R. Lalthangliana at the Third Northeast Business Summit here Tuesday.
He added that the people of Mizoram are hardworking, honest and friendly in nature.
Describing the summit as an indication of the government’s “genuine concern for bringing about industrialisation and socio-economic development in the northeast region”, the chief minister said, “The summit is a right initiative for exploring the vast pool of resources which, if properly harnessed, could make the entire region a hotbed for prospective investors from home and abroad.&
This is a small zinc plate wearing faint remnants of ink after three trips through the press. The top print is the darkest, and the two ghost prints under it are waiting for an art supply spa treatment. The lightest ghost was printed on Arches88, a smooth, bright white, printmaking paper with no sizing in it. You can't use watercolor on it, unless you like to paint on paper towels, since it's about that absorbent. It's a lovely paper for colored pencils - the plate-finish is silky under the pigments, and you can layer the colors on the sheet almost like watercolors.Connecticut Pasture, 3 x 6 Monotype Ghost & Colored PencilBid on it here.
