I Am Officially Off My Overweight Case! I Am Smarter Than A Chimpanzee!
After being beat up by a body mass index calculator yesterday, I have found an ally in my new found health problem. While life insurance underwriters still take a stance that obesity and some of it’s ugly cousins, diabetes and heart disease, are not going to get you the best rates, a fat advocate popped out nowhere. A science article in the New York Times claimed the fat high ground today and brought to light the fact that fat is an essential part of our body, not unlike the liver. Why then, if fat is so vital to our body, would “doctors vacuum out something like two million pounds of fat from the thighs, bellies, buttocks, jowls and man-breasts of 325,000 people a year”? Vanity? An attempt at de-evolution? According to Bruce M. The Risks Of Being Overweight
The word on the dangers of being overweight has gotten out, and most people well know that excess body weight is a health risk. What may not be known is the extent to which being overweight presents a health risk, and which forms of good health are specifically compromised in overweight people. The truth of the matter is, over weight presents a long line of significant health risks. Excess weight can lead to type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes, also called adult-onset, results from higher than normal levels of blood sugar. High blood sugar levels are associated with heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, and blindness, not to mention circulatory problems that in severe cases can lead to the need for extremity amputation. Being overweight can lead to heart disease. Heart disease occurs when the heart function and blood flow are compromised. Heart disease may result in heart arrhythmia, angina (chest pain), congestive heart failure, or sudden heart failure. Overweight persons typically have

Here is what Adam said: Close, but not a very good idea. First, I wonder about how sturdy this peripheral really is. The average person is overweight and I wonder about how this will work. I also am concerned about actually being able to perform exercises on the device. They would have been better with mat similar to the hard home version of the dance dance mat. The games look interesting, but I would rather play games on the system. Another problem with the idea is that most homes have carpet where their tv is located. If you don’t have tile, hardwood, or berber carpet then you will not enjoy this. I have plush carpet and the device will have difficulty with picking up when I change my balance. The idea is cool. I just think that the device itself is questionable. They need a device that can really take

TYLER PERRY SAYS STOP THE HATE.. SO WHAT HOUSE OF PAYNE CAST IS OVERWEIGHT....
Perry begins his e-mail response by pointing out the harsh treatment he’s received from critics throughout his career. He writes:************************************************************************** You all know that the critics have hated every thing that I have done over the years. Roger Ebert gave DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN-THE MOVIE an awful review, one critic called MADEA'S FAMILY REUNION-THE MOVIE the worst thing that he'd ever seen, some other critic said that DADDY'S LITTLE GIRLS shouldn't have ever been made and that I had to be stopped. Not to mention the plays, a critic in L.A. said of MADEA GOES TO JAIL, that it was the worst play he'd ever seen and that this type of show should not be at the Kodak Theatre, the home of the Oscars. One person asked why does the mama have to be a "FAT BLACK WOMAN" and said that I am perpetuating stereotypes by putting these overweight people on the show, as if there are no fat black women in America that are mothers. Is it Possible to be Both Overweight and Malnourished?
The stereotypical picture of malnourishment -- a very thin, starving person -- is no longer accurate. It is possible, and quite common, for people to be both overweight and malnourished. In fact, British experts estimated that, similar to here in the United States, anywhere from 2 million to 4 million overweight Britons are not receiving the nutrients they need from food, even though food is plentiful. The culprit? Eating too much of the wrong foods (processed, refined, no-nutrition varieties) and not enough of the right ones (fruits, veggies and other real foods). Some experts even believe that people in Briton were eating better during the World War II food rationing system (when they had no choice but to eat eggs, meat, milk and other real food) than they are today. So while people who are both overweight and malnourished are not at risk of starving, per say, they are at risk of obesity-related complications like diabetes and heart disease, along with symptoms of malnourishment, such

      Financials sector to overweight ?
I view the next move by the Fed is most likely a rate cut later this year, which will benefit the stocks in this rate-sensitive group. The banks and diversified financials , such as insurers and real estate investment trusts, have been having a tough year. Through April 17, the financials sector index has fallen behind, underperforming the S&P 500 index. Although the sector has appreciated, it's the laggard of the 10 sector indices, rising only 0.7% while the "500" has gained 3.8%. In 2006, the financials sector index increased 16.2%, compared with a13.6% rise for the "500" The subprime lending mess has put pressure on many stocks in the group recently. After energy, the financials sectorhas the lowest price-to-earnings ratio of all 10 sectors of the economy, at 12.7 times 2007 earnings. The powerful energy sector's P/E can't be beat at11.5 as of April 20. Price is one good reason why S&P says it's time to consider banks again and the representative Sector SPDR-Fin

Adverts make overweight kids eat more
Warning: Division by zero in /home/clickmed/public_html/interactivehealth/wp-content/plugins/tla_62744.php on line 595 This doesn’t really surprise me. Apparently researches from the University of Liverpool studied the link between food ads and food intake of overweight and obese children. It found that after watching an ad, kids in both categories increased their food intake by 134 percent. The study involved 60 children between the ages of 9 and 11 of varying weights. They were shown ads for food and toys and all the kids in those weight categories ate more after seeing food ads. Overweight kids ate 101 percent more and those in the normal weight range at 84 percent more. I’m not sure what can be done about that. You can’t take tv away from kids, there would probably be mass riots! Maybe try and buy less treats to limit their intake. Growing up, we didn’t have candy, lollies or any treats in the house. If we got hungry, our options were either fruit,

This is the story of Herman. Herman, as the title suggests, is an overweight pigeon. Now, this might not be an odd thing on its own, there are plent of overweight pigeons. London has HUGE pigeon that look like they’re going to throw up, while theyre eating. They’re not even hungry and they shovel down whatever they can find. Have you ever been to one of those ‘forest get-away’ things, Centre Parks and the like…the pigeons there are more like whales. Big flapping whales. Fat beggars can hardly even fly. Herman you see is different. Herman is fat because he has gland problems. Runs in the family… Anyways….. One day Herman had a visit from a very short, and very loud salesman, who went by the name of Jambooie Plivthm (Jambooie felt his major set-back in life was his very hard to pronounce surname). Jambooie sold the most amazing things. A small cheese slice, that had engraved on it words, which when read would summon a large dribbling beast fr
