Bayona (El Hombre Esponja)MPAA Rating:R for some disturbing content.Release Date:October 2007Synopsis:With fond memories of the seaside orphanage where she was raised, Laura persuades her husband to help her revamp it as a facility for disabled children. But once they move in, their son Simón begins to exhibit dark and disturbing behavior. As Laura tries to understand Simón's increasingly malevolent actions, she becomes drawn into the house's terrifying secrets. My Two Cents:Being an orphan at an early age must be tough, and living in an orphanage for the disabled must be even tougher. Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro may only 'Present…' this outstanding Gothic fantasy but his fingerprints are unmistakably all over it.Another richly supernatural adult fable, it follows the nostalgic return of 37-year-old Laura (Belén Rueda) to her former childhood orphanage. With the help of her husband and their adopted son, Simón (Roger Príncep), a solitary seven-year-old infected by HIV, Laura intends to reopen the crepuscular pile as a home for mentally ill children. Until, that is, little Simón traumatically vanishes on opening day. His mother is too late in recalling his fanciful burblings about 'imaginary' friends. And, whoa fears– who's the mad old lady with the shovel lurking by the potting shed?An inventive splicing of Peter Pan and The Others, this is a scary

I get email updates from the orphanage that I visited at during my mission trip to the Philippines. These kids are so smart and the orphanage is self sustaining... they filter their own water, they raise crops of rice, have water buffalo, run their own school, etc.. The have been facing this huge battle for several months though and I want to ask you to pray. They rescued some girls from off the street who had been raped repeatedly by "mafia" types and are now working with the local prosecutors to try and bring justice to these perverts. They are facing about 100 counts of rapes against minors right now and that's the easy stuff. The orphanage/school is constantly under attack and they have to try and separate the good cops from the bad cops as they don't know who is corrupt and who isn't. Here is a prayer list I received tonight.. Please join me in praying for relief from this spiritual oppression they are facing!          1)    Pray for a good lawyer to

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt already have four young children – but they may not be planning to stop there.
On Thursday’s Daily Show, Jon Stewart wondered how many kids Jolie wanted in all, asking: “How high we going, you think?”
Replied Jolie: “It fluctuates between seven and 13 or 14.” The audience howled and Jolie laughed, and Stewart said, “Wow, I’ll tell you this: I admire that, because two is kicking my ass.”
Jolie quipped: “Yeah, I understand that. Four is kind of kicking our ass, but we kind of feel like, ‘Damn it, we’re up for the challenge!’ ”

The discussion that's taken place here over the past few days is begging an important question, and I would like to put it up in an Open Mike to encourage discussion about it.I've been dancing around this issue for a long time; among other reasons, I believe my experience is too narrow to speak with any authority on this, I don't know all the facts, and even if I did, I don't believe one person's opinion can ever tell the whole story. The time has arrived, though, at which I need to face this question and finally put my thoughts to words. Before I do, I want to talk about it. But I ask it very directly here in the hope that you will share what's in your honest opinions. As with all Open Mikes, all points of view are welcome, including multiple and anonymous comments, but please be civil.Which is better: orphanage or adoption? Why? When? How?
500 angry orphans threw rocks at reporters trying to inch their way closer to Madonna and her adopted son, David Banda. They were visiting the same orphanage Madge plucked the boy from last fall. It was reported that there will be a reunion between David and his biological father some time today. Officials at the orphanage tried to calm the stone throwing kiddos and called the police, whom evicted reporters trying to get into the “Home of Hope”.
Here are pictures of Madonna and her daughter Lourdes in matching camouflage outfits from yesterday.

Is Jessica Simpson trying to be like Angelina Jolie…or has John Mayer had a really big effect on her heart. On March 27th, Jessica Simpson visited a Mexican Orphanage to donate a brand new minivan (a 2007 Chrysler Minivan that she won at the MTV Video Music Awards). This is the second time that she's visited the orphanage. She actually won a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire at the awards, but she traded it for the minivan so that she could give it to the orphanage.
Why are celebrities winning cars anyways? It's not like WHOAAA I WON A CARRR.. to them it's like.. okay, another car added to my 12 car garage.

Angelina Jolie, pictured above with her son Maddox in Vietnam, left the Tam Binh orphanage Thursday with the 3 year old boy that she planned to adopt. Angelina was seen carrying the young boy to a waiting Toyota four-wheel drive. The same vehicle arrived at the Department of Justice in Ho Chi Minh City, where it was widely reported that an official ceremony would be performed to complete the adoption. 30 minutes later, the vehicle left, followed by a horde of reporters and paparazzi. Thin Lizzy - Shades Of a Blue Orphanage(1972)192kbps A fascinating, all-over-the-map album by a band that hadn'tyet found its own voice (although in retrospect hints of the band's ultimate direction can be heard here). Things get off to a roaring start with "The Rise and Dear Demise of the Funky Nomadic Tribes", which segues from Yes-derived staccato unison riffing into a funk-guitar workout influenced by Jimi Hendrix and James Brown. From there it's on to "Buffalo Gal", a melancholy folk-ish plaint that anticipates the working class Irish poetry Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott would develop to great effect later in the '70s; other stylistic detours include stabs at faux rockabilly ("I Don't Want to Forget How to Jive"), Mellotron-drenched confessional ballads (the title tune), and even a sort of visionary art-punk ("Call the Police). Pretty amazing, but the best was yet to come.(amazon.co.uk)1.The Rise And Dear Demise Of The Funky Nomadic Tribes (7:06)2.Buffalo Gal (5:30)3.I Don't Wa
