It's time for another mineral makeup product review! This time I picked out an eye shadow from L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Gentle Mineral Eye Shadow in Bare Lavender. I was really drawn to the color and the container. It's a really soft color that looks great for everyday wear or special occasions. The container is very small, which I like. It won't take up much room in my makeup bag. The applicator brush is attached to the cap so there's no risk of loosing it, which is nice too.Like some of the other mineral makeup I've tried, getting the powder on the brush was a little messy. It has been a very busy week for me. I have been attending shows at L'Oreal Fashion Week in Toronto. This year they decided to go New York-esq and have put up a tent.
Here are a couple of snaps from inside the tent. I'll provide some beauty coverage next week.

The circus that is fashion opened under a Big Top in the heart of Toronto this week, with clinking Prosecco cans, neon blasts of colour, a liberal sprinkling of sequins on and off the runway, and the appearance of two supermodels, Somalian-born legend Iman, and Canadian ingenue Heather Marks.
The 30,000-square-foot tent - achingly loud, crowded, chaotic, breezy and just a little rickety it seemed at times - held up despite the vagaries of the weather.
The feeling was decidedly fresh - weather and otherwise as the temperature turned from balmy to blustery, wet and cold overnight.

I’d reviewed the L’oreal UV Perfect Fluid Protector sunscreen before in a separate review. Anyone who knows me would know how paranoid I am about using sunscreen. Sunscreen truly is the best anti-aging cream out there simply because it blocks UV rays from damaging your skin thereby preventing aging at its root.
All that aside though, I had been curious about the anti-dullness formula for a while and I also noticed that the L’oreal UV Perfect sunscreen had been repackaged. So, I was wondering if they had also reformulated it.
So when my current tube was on its last legs, I took a gamble on this anti-dullness formula. It comes in the usual box and tube except there is little purple square at the bottom with the words “anti-dullness”.
The texture of the sunscreen is the same, creamy but there is a purplish tint to the cream. This purple tint, although looking impossibly ghastly, actually serves to counteract yellowness and dullness. The minute I apply it o

The L’oreal Color Appeal eyeshadow quad is a limited edition quad created for the L’oreal celebrity ambassadors. There are 5 quads available in 5 different shades, but I got the Lavender/Blue one which is promoted by Gong Li. These eyeshadow quads are Asia Exclusive I think which means they are only available in Asia. In the USA, the Star Secrets collection has a trio not a quad.
The 4 shades in the quad are highly shimmery and 1 of them is almost metallic in texture and colour. They are:
White - shimmery white
Silver - metallic silver
Dark Blue - shimmery purple blue
Lavender - shimmery lilac/lavender
The texture is quite smooth and applies well. Be careful with the silver because its easy to overdo. The white and silver shades are more of accent shades whilst the lavender is meant to be the main shade.
However, I found that all the quads are lacking in a real dark shade for lining and accent purposes. Used by itself, I don’t think the dark blue in this quad is dark
I picked up the L’oreal True Match Foundation one day due to an emergency which left me without any makeup. I’d heard a lot about it and seen the advertisements and thought I’d give it a shot, because its a reasonably priced liquid foundation. I’m not very good with liquid foundation so I thought it would be a good time to experiment with a reasonably priced foundation.
L’oreal True Match foundation proclaims to have a colour to match every skintone and has an ingredient that helps it adjust to match your skin colour, so you always have the perfect foundation. They have also classified the shades so its easy to match it to your skin, provided you know what tone your skin is.
There are a few categories:
Neutral - neutral tones
Warm - yellow tones
Rose - pink tones
You pick category first then shade which correspond to the numbers. The higher the number, the darker it gets. I thought it was all just hoo-ha to be honest.

I just signed up my little sister for this free L’Oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss shampoo simply because the bottle is pink. She’ll take anything as long as it’s pink. I am a strong believer in the use of sunscreen protection for face and body. For my face, I used to use L’oreal UV Perfect sunscreen with SPF50 protection.
I then switched over to Sunsense by QV, an Australian brand. I loved it because it felt nice on and had mattifying properties, so it made my skin look matt nearly the whole day long. I reviewed this sunscreen and gave it a glowing review. I thought it was perfect - good sunscreen, mattifying, great price.
UPDATE: After about 2 months using it, I found that I was having worse than normal breakouts on my face. I was breaking out in places I never used to break out before. Also, I found that my skin was very uneven as there appeared to be many clogged pores. Again, something I haven’t had for a long time.

I test drove this after a night of drinks and not sleeping well. It gave me a smooth clear look, like as though I’d just woken up after 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Every girl should keep this gem in their makeup stash!!
There are only 2 shades available here - 03 and 04. If you are fair 03 will suit you fine. However, if you are very tanned/dark you might not be able to find a match in this line. I don’t know why but I can’t seem to find much stock at the L’oreal counters. Are they discontinuing this item? Or do they just not stock many of it?
The brush part can feel rather hard sometimes and if you aren’t careful it feels scratchy around your sensitive eye area. I usually clean the brush with some tissue paper after every use and I found that regular cleaning seems to make it feel softe
I don’t rave about shampoo and conditioner very often. My hair goes through a lot. It’s naturally a medium blonde that’s little bit wavy, and I highlight it regularly and straighten it daily. My hair gets pretty damaged, and I’m always on the lookout for something that will make it look and feel like silk.

I have this shampoo and conditioner in the formulas for “medium to long hair that’s damaged”, and they are seriously incredible. My hair has never ever ever ever felt so soft or looked so shiny since before I started highlighting and straightening it on a regular basis.
