Red Sox 4, Toronto 15: Being Outscored by the Opponent 19-5?
…Not even REMOTELY Priceless… Holy Buckets! Talk about a lost weekend…It’s a DAMN good thing that Friday night was rained out and Clay Buchholz was pushed back to Wednesday, because that certainly would have been loss # 3 for the weekend… In a weekend where the Sox newest starter, Paul Byrd, certainly pitches well enough to win [...]

Priceless… Although the fact that Sox pitching gave up TWENTY runs in 2 out of the 3 games is a rather large concern… Last night’s win was the 12th shutout of the season for the Sox, which ties them with Cleveland for the record in the AL… And Daisuke…was Daisuke, but at least he threw 7 innings, giving [...]

Of their five losses, two are downright awful: UNC Asheville at home and at Elon. (Note: Western Carolina is 3-5 if you count a win over non-DI Methodist.) Sophomore forward Nick Aldridge was the leading scorer for the Catamounts in their first four games, but he’s no longer on the team. Aldridge averaged over 18 ppg a season ago. Western Carolina coach Larry Hunter offered the following remarks regarding Aldridge in a statement released on November 28: “Nick Aldridge has made a decision to no longer be a part of our basketball program. Nick had some issues that we felt were detrimental to the development of our team and we have for some time been trying to help him work through those issues. We recently caught up with him for a special Q & A edition of Know Thy Opponent. Unfortunately, Kentucky’s first fan Ashley Judd wasn’t available for this edition of Know Thy Opponent. Inside the Hall: The first thing that comes to mind when you think about Kentucky basketball this season is the change to Billy Gillispie. How is Billy changing the program from the way it was run under Tubby Smith? John Clay: Gillispie appears to be a tougher and more demanding coach. He ran a “Boot Camp” before the start of drills, he runs full practices the day of games, and he has already benched a couple of players for transgressions. Freshman A.J. Stewart sat the bench the entire game against Stony Brook, then was brought out during the post-game press conference to tell the media he had fallen asleep during a team meeting.

CD 3: Johnson Gets A Primary Opponent
Congressman Sam Johnson (R-Plano) has drawn a primary opponent in the form of Wayne Avellant, who is a self-proclaimed Sarbanes-Oxley Act International Control Compliance expert and one of those corporate seminar gurus. So, it would appear he’s well-moneyed and well-spoken. It’s doubtful that Johnson has quite the Teflon-ness that Ralph Hall (R-Rockwall) possesses, but we suspect he’s probably safe. However, there are numerous rumblings that the business community in Plano wants someone who is more in tune with their needs and ready to answer at their beck and call than Johnson, who has reportedly become, “ineffective.” Could be an interesting primary. SIU’s lone win in the series came back in 2001 in Carbondale. Southern Illinois is led by head coach Chris Lowery who was named the Missouri Valley Conference coach of the year two of the past three seasons. Head coach Sean Miller will rely heavily on his senior backcourt of Drew Lavender and Stanley Burrell. The 5-7 Lavender is a first team preseason All-Atlantic 10 selection. It's been a long season and while the New York Red Bulls have admittedly not done very well recently, I believe Bruce Arena has the team poised for a playoff run that will (gasp!) surpass the normal "one and done" post-season routine its fans have grown accustomed to. Where is this blasphemous talk coming from? I'll tell you:First, the team is finally healthy. Kovalenko, Mendes, Altidore and Freeman have all missed time with injuries this season, which has had deleterious effects on the team's play. Its defense in particular has been completely ineffective as a result of injuries (and questionable personnel decisions; I'll get to that in a bit). Okay, so Captain America is injured (still...or again, take your pick) but he really hasn't done much (or anything, really) and more importantly hasn't been missed. The team's best stretch earlier in the season came with him out of the lineup.Second, Arena finally finally seems to be going with the best starting lineup at his disposal. W

Hot Tips For Beating Any Opponent At Ping Pong
By: Gabriel Adams1- Know what to serve and when. If youve missed a serve because of high tension, it is more likely that you will not have the regular control and fluidity to execute your master serves. This is the worst possible time to launch an offensive using your tough and tricky serves as the chances are quite high that you may miss again. Stick to the safe short or medium, neutral serve. 2- When you arent playing, use that time to watch your opponents. Take a good look at how they play and what openings you can exploit in their game. Studying how they serve, how they return a serve and what are their strong and weak points will give you the winning edge, no matter how highly ranked they are.3- Keep on attacking right till the end. Just because you are leading, dont make the mistake of playing passive and hoping for your opponent to miss a shot so that you could win. If you do, the tables could turn very quickly and you could find yourself at the losing end. 4- Develop various st

Liberal party officials spy on opponent's intranet.
This is probably the Swedish political scandal of the century. Like a Swedish Watergate. Officials of Folkpartiet (the Swedish liberal party) are being investigated by police for spying on their political opponent Socialdemokraterna (the social democrat party) through logging in on Socialdemokraterna's internal computer network, where confidential reports and planning was stored. With the upcoming elections as close as September 17, this is of course pure political kryptonite with no end of the ripple effect in sight. The Social Democrats are indignant in the media, of course, but a guess is they are secretly rather pleased, since this may give them the extra push in the public opinion they need to win the election. The spying was made possible when Liberal party officials got their hands on a Social Democrat party worker's login information. How this could happen is not clear at this point; the accused Liberal official, Per Jodenius, claims that the information was given to him by a
