Im talking about real working methods and needed tools. One of the most glaring is the inability to split audio from video clips. That means its virtually impossible to slide a video clip over a lead-in audio to the next clip. It means you cant take out unnecessary or wrong audio and lay in synchronized new tracks. Today I am paying for the fun of yesterday. I'm aching and walking like an old lady. I went to the doctor, and he gave me his regular three minutes. That study that says that doctors interrupt their patients after twenty seconds is entirely true for mine. I feel like he reads my chart and comes in knowing exactly what he is going to do regardless of what I have to say. This illness has left me feeling powerless, and my doctor only exacerbates that feeling. He put me on another new medication at one dosage for two weeks and then a different dosage two weeks later. This means that I paid $55.00 today, and I'll pay that amount again in two weeks. Do doctors even stop to think about the amount of money they are forcing patients to pay for medicines they aren't even sure will work? And he's tapering me off of the prednisone, and I have to keep going even if it gets rough. The same doctor who didn't like me taking vicodin at all, is now telling me to take it to get off of the steroids.

I know that this blog is supposed to be about knitting but I'm struggling today and it's got nothing to do with yarn. I feel like emotionally I've taken a step backwards and I can't even explain why - it's completely taken me by surprise.  Today I woke up and came to work feeling in control and positive about life.  By lunchtime I'd dropped like a stone.  And it was the silliest thing that started me off. One of the women in our office is pregnant - and I've coped really well with it (I've kind of ignored it if I'm honest!) She's quite heavily pregnant (32 weeks) and I've really worked at coping well.  Some of my other colleagues were talking about monthly cycles and I burst into tears!  Without warning - I'd started before I'd even registered what I was feeling.  Bizarre. Positive thinking has gone a bit wonky today - the bloody rain isn't helping - when will it stop?!  I'm going to go to the gym tonight after work and then settle in

So this week, things really came to a head, emotionally, for me.  I don’t really know why - nothing’s really changed that drastically. Maybe it’s just the lack of sleep - I’d begun to get used to the baby sleeping better at night - then when he didn’t - which was totally my fault, it threw me.  But it sucked.  And I got to a place where I could see myself really going too far, so I called the doctor and got an appointment to get changed from the celexa (which really isn’t indicated for breastfeeding) to zoloft. Hubby didn’t like it and essentially stopped talking to me. Oh well - he’ll get over it So I went , talked to the new doc and she gave me the prescription. Got it filled, took one yesterday. Made me very sleepy all day - made the baby sleepy too. Gonna take it at night from now on and see what happens. Wish me luck.

The EF-3 tornado that swept through about thirty miles north of our area was so destructive, it's path can be seen from space. This picture is from NASA's home page.
