      One little bitty letter
Isn’t it strange what a difference one word can make? Even one little letter in a word – in the wrong place – can make a whole lot of difference. For example, I remember - well, this is going to sound perfectly awful – but I remember reading an obituary that made me laugh. The decedent had been a member of the Bethel United Methodist Women. Unfortunately, two of letters in one word had bee

One Little Problem With Life Insurance Companies!
I was recently contacted by a person who had been declined by an insurance company (pretty much an every day occurrence here). This person had been treated for depression for quite a while, but successfully treated. The person was leading a normal, stable life. Family, job, the whole thing has gone on without a hitch [...]

      One little mistake?
When is a crime not a crime? Answer: When parents don’t want it to be!In an article in the Boston Globe, “Reading, writing, and cheating” (9/20/07) by Joan Vennochi, crime is redefined as “one little mistake” by one of the parents of a group of students who broke into Hanover High School in New Hampshire. Vennochi writes:The parents of nine high school students accused of breaking into Hanover High School in New Hampshire are furious that school officials turned the case over to local police. The police prosecutor brought criminal charges against the students who allegedly broke into a teacher’s filing cabinet and stole exams. Their parents are now being told that if they choose to take the case to trial, the misdemeanor charges could be raised to felonies. The parents are trying to get the charges reduced to violations that carry no criminal penalties. Such penalties could jeopardize their child’s chances of attending college or getting hired for a job.“What’s frighte

      One Little eskimO
The little eskimO wondered and wondered, in fact he spent so much time wondering. When he wasn't wondering he was thinking up stories, and singing along with tunes that lived in his head. You see the little eskimO loved nothing more than just to sing. Now, every night shortly after the moOn came out and gazed down he would collect his stories and songs and wa

One Little Secret by Allison Bottke
I would like to introduce you to Allison Bottke. She is currently having a blog tour for her new book One Little Secret and she graciously agreed to stop by here. Allsion writes "women's fiction with an attitude!" She published her first book in 2001 which was a collection of short stories titled God Allows U Turns. She is an author, speaker, and a woman who is living her dream. Her writings have coined the phrase "Boomer-lit." What is that you ask? It is defined as a genre of chick-lit for the more mature woman.I hate to admit it I am new to Allison writings, but I am blessed by her ministry and I loved reading her new book. Allison's desire is to have women dream BIG! And with her new book One Little Secret she combines witty characters and big dreams that lead to wonderful twists that only God can make happen. The back of the book reads:An invitation to record a CD with a hunky, young pop star? It's the stuff dreams are made of....right?For Ursula Rhoades, a suburban wife and Mo

One Big Ass Jet vs. One Little Ass Car
I don’t like to post videos without at least writing something funny to go along with it. But it is Saturday, I am feeling lazy and really the title says it all. [EDIT]: I will be honest I posted this before I had actually watched the whole thing. That hippy car got fucked up!

      One little checkbox…
It’s the little things that make a difference- and nowhere is that more true than in prepress. Prepress is a world where one little checkbox makes the difference between ‘easy’ files and ‘hard’ files. Here’s a good example: “Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities”. Un-checking this one little box can make my life very difficult. So what exactly does this box do? When you save a PDF from Illustrator, Illustrator will write the entire original AI file inside the PDF. This makes the file larger, but makes later editing of the PDF much simpler. (more…)

When you save a PDF from Illustrator, Illustrator will write the entire original AI file inside the PDF. This makes the file larger, but makes later editing of the PDF much simpler. If this box is not checked, when you read a file back into Illustrator many bad things happen. Every line of text is it’s own box- there are no more paragraphs. Gradients are usually converted to shadings. Basically, editing of the file becomes extremely difficult. Normally editing a PDF is the last thing your friendly neighborhood prepress person wants to do. Unfortunately, just because we re

Kim Mathers: Eminem Has One Little Problem
After being twice married and twice divorced from a man, a woman learns something about him. In the case of Kim Mathers, whose two trips to the altar with Eminem were both followed by trips to divorce court, the lesson learned was that her double-ex husband was a bit less than she might have hoped to be. Talking on Detroit radio station WKQI, Kim revealed that thinking of Em makes her vomit in
