You might find a CVS on every corner but in Worthington the new CVS under construction is one of a kind. Replacing the long standing local grocery store, this structure is fitting of the Olde Worthington aura.
The all brick traditional style with parking in the back will beautify the corner and should attract shoppers to the CVS as well as the additional space adjoining. It is rumored that there will be apartments upstairs which should attract young or old - anyone wanting to be where the action is in downtown Worthington. We are looking forward to welcoming our new CVS to the corner down the street.

Here is the new restaurant being completed in Worthington. Jason Liu, a successful restaurateur in Dublin, is planning to open his Worthington location in July of 2008. The exterior is nearly complete and work seems to be going on around the clock. It looks like one of the more elaborate and probably most expensive ground up restaurants I have seen. The copper gutters and flashing accents the white trim and brick facing. Unique to the typical Worthington colonial architectural style is the big pineapple seen on the front of the building. My understanding is the pineapple is a welcome sign. If the food is as good as the Dublin shop this place will be very busy.
Worthington, Powell, Upper Arlington, Clintonville, Lewis Center and Westerville will probably be the sources of custome
It is part of the unique traditions of this community, which was founded by a group of New Englanders in 1803 and is one of the oldest in Ohio. Each Saturday morning from mid-May to mid-October, a Farmers Market is held, capturing the spirit of earlier days when farmers brought their crops to market.
Worthington's present-day market lines the streets of downtown Old Worthington drawing each Saturday an estimated 5,000 people who are seeking produce grown locally and throughout Ohio.
The market features certified organic farmers and organically grown products, including vegetables, fruit, meats, free-range chickens and eggs, cheese and other dairy products. There are also cut flowers, herbs, large landscape plants, dried flowers and baked goods.
Worthington's Farmer Market is the lar
Hello, it's Judy Gray. We've got some great commuter suburbs near Columbus Ohio and here's why they're great spots to consider when relocating to the area. Worthington, Dublin, and Powell are all easily accessible to all the good interstate highways and infrastructure in Columbus. They've got outstanding schools, they have great downtown communities with wonderful little boutique shops and restaurants, and all sorts of things to do for families, wonderful recreation centers where all your families can go and enjoy all kinds of different activities. My top-of-mind picks for 3 great places to live around Columbus are Worthington, Dublin and Powell.

Papa John's Pizza has issued an apology to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cavalier LeBron James for making T-shirts with LeBron's number and the word "crybaby" under it, T-shirts that appeared at Friday's playoff game with the Washington Wizards in Washington. "They were being stupid," Dan Schuler said. "That shirt was an insult to all of Cleveland." Papa John's is offering 23-cent pizza Thursday (May 8), the day the Cavaliers play the Boston Celtics in Boston, to fans who may have had a "bad taste" left in their mouths after the T-shirt incident. Why 23-cent pizza and not FREE ? Because Lebron James is "The Number 23".As part of the apology to Cavs fans, Papa John's corporate public relations Director Tish Muldoon said Monday that all 44 Papa John's shops in the Northeast Ohio area will prov

Anyway, Bryan is a small town of about 8000 people famous for Ohio Art the Etch-A-Sketch toy company, and Spangler Candy the makers of the Dum-Dum lollypop. Here I was in my parent's home and my sister asked for some help regarding a computer question. I wandered into my Mother's office only to see a picture hanging on the wall. He looked right at me and smiled; my man JC! Although this was just a picture it fit the bill, I quickly got my Dad's attention and had him snap a picture. Boom, JC photo shoot #2.Next time:Female Jesus (I swear)

As I was sitting here today I received a call in from my broker in regards to a mortgage company I have been dealing via short-sale. I immediatly listened to the information and then looked it up myself. Excitement? This completely made my day. As of April 7. 2008 Governer Strickland announced that nine mortgage companies signed an agreement called " Compact to Help Ohioans Preserve Homeownership". This will reduce foreclosures in ohio. Yes, Ohio we are the only state that has this agreement in the nation. Congrats to us!! The principles these companies signed include the following: 1. Engage in substantial and large-scale loan modification effort for ARM mortgage resets and subprime mortgages.2. Indentify, evaluate and make good faith attempt
Moving to Eastlake only a few years ago from Ashtabula was a big change for me. A finnish girl always close to the water with a little bit of country still attached to her. I did not know much about my community until I became a Realtor. With great knowledge obtained from my brokers Stan and Linda Leff. I realized I would soon love where I live. I have gained great respect for the community I live in, realizing that over 300 years ago the Erie Indians village was Lakeshore Blvd. and reeves rd. In 1830 settlers from New York came and purchased acres for only $7 to 10 dollars. That completely blows my mind, imagine an acre for that price. In 1951 we became a city only populated by 7486 with a volunteer fire department managing by using borrowed equipement and renting trucks for a doll
While the Ohio Healthy Families Act stalls in the legislature, and Sick Days Ohio, the group lobbying for this bill, gathers signatures to place in on November's ballot, New Jersey will join California and Washington to become the 3rd state (plus the District of Columbia and San Francisco) to require paid sick leave for employees. The New Jersey plan, however, differs from Ohio's Healthy Families Act in three key regards:
New Jersey's employees will partially fund their own paid leave through a payroll deduction. According to today's Philadelphia Inquirer, each worker will pay about $33 per year, while each is entitled to collect up to two-thirds of their salary, capped at $524 per week.
Employers will be able to require their employees to use accrued vacation days and other paid time

One would think that in our post-Enron corporate environment, employees, even in non-public companies, would be free to oppose corporate accounting irregularities without fear of termination. Yet, in Schwenke v. Wayne-Dalton Corp., the Lorain County (Ohio) Court of Appeals ruled that an employee claiming he was terminated for that very reason had no claim.
Ronald Schwenke was the controller for Wayne-Dalton Corp., a privately held manufacturer of garage doors headquartered in Mt. Hope, Ohio. During Schwenke's employment he complained about certain inappropriate accounting procedures engaged in by Wayne-Dalton's President and its CFO, in addition to what he perceived as the misappropriation of corporate assets. His complaints fells on deaf ears, and he was simply told to "make it work,"

Finally, Terrelle Pryor decides on a school which was Ohio State. He knows that if he wants to get to the next level, their offense would showcase his skills more than a Rich Rodriquez run based offense @ Michigan. I didn’t agree with him taking so long on his decision, but hey, it [...]
Terrelle Pryor had a decision to make.Do I go to Michigan and lose to Ohio State every season? Or do I go to Ohio State and lose to some SEC team in the BCS Title game every season? He chose the latter—and is now the apparent quarterback of the future for the Ohio State Buckeyes.Too bad Jim Tressel has no idea what to do with a good quarterback. Not that any of us have any idea whether or not he actually is a good quarterback. Just because Rivals.com says it's so, doesn't make it gospel. Terrelle Pryor could be the next Tim Tebow, but he could also be the next Rocky Hinds. The pressure put on these kids to become immediate superheros just because they dominated high school is out of control. Some live up to the hype, some fold under the pressure. Some just weren't that good in the firs
"If everyone's here," Pryor said to start the news conference, "University of Ohio State."And so starts the college saga of Terrelle Pryor. He took an extra month to make up his mind, and he still got the name of the school wrong. I guess he's never watched Monday Night Football's player introductions. It was a moment eerily reminiscent of Anthony Morelli's famous "University of Penn State" comment the day he turned his back on the Pitt program he once committed to. For OSU's sake, I hope Pryor's college career turns out better than Morelli's.On signing day, Pryor famously delayed his choice, saying that he also wanted to visit Penn State and possibly Oregon. A month later, he visited neither PSU nor Oregon. For those of you looking for the exact quote, here it is: "I want to visit Penn S
Today, Terrelle Pryor made official a decision that had been expected for the last two months. The star quarterback for Jeannette (Pa.) High School announced at a press conference today that he will be attending Ohio State. Pryor had originally planned to announce his college choice on national signing day, but instead announced that he would be delaying his decision. He had said he was ready to choose Ohio State, but his father had convinced him to give Penn State a closer look. At the time, the 6-6 quarterback said he was still considering Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon. He said he would make an official visit to Penn State and might make a trip to Oregon, but neither materialized. Last weekend, Pryor said he had narrowed the list to two schools, but wouldn't identi
Ohio State beats Michigan yet again as Terrelle Pryor signs for the Buckeyes. The signs were positive all along but you never really know what a kid that age is going to do. Now the question is, when does he hit the field? You have to think there is no chance of him starting this year short of a complete Todd Boeckman meltdown. Throw in there that Antonio Henton showed promise in spot duty last year and it's unlikely Tressel will hand the offense over to him. On the other hand it's also likely he will see some time throughout the year, especially since the battle the following year for quarterback will be between he and Henton. It's gives Buckeye sports fans something to talk about since the basketball season ended with such a letdown.
Wednesday at Noon the final verdict will be made!

The Columbus Dispatch reports that the Ohio legislature is balking at the Ohio Health Families Act in its current form. The legislature has until May 8 to pass the OHFA. If it does not, Sick Days Ohio, the Union-led coalition of 180 different groups that sponsored the measure, would be entitled to circulate a petition to gather 120,683 signatures to qualify the law for placement on the fall ballot. A recent Columbus Dispatch poll shows that Sick Days Ohio likely would not have much problem obtaining those signatures. According to the poll, 76% of registered Democrats and 45% of registered Republicans favor the OHFA, while only 15% of Democrats and 44% of Republicans oppose it.
This wide bipartisan public support likely means that the OHFA will appear on November's ballot and will probabl
This is awful... the witnesses to the aftermath had to stand by and hear the screams of those burning inside...

Senate Bill 305, introduced in the Ohio Senate yesterday, would include "sexual orientation" in the list of protected classes against which it is illegal for employers to discriminate. It defines sexual orientation as "heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, asexuality, or transgenderism, whether actual or perceived." According to today's Cleveland Plain Dealer, if S.B. 305 passes, Ohio would become the 22nd state to ban this type of discrimination. The Plain Dealer also points out that only one Republican crossed party lines to sponsor the bill, which does not bode well for its ultimate fate.
While this blog is unabashedly slanted in the employer's favor, I come down on the side of the employee on the issue of sexual orientation discrimination. As I've said here before, is difficul

A staggering 16,000-plus Republicans in Cuyahoga County switched parties when they voted in last week's primary. That includes 931 in Rocky River, 1,027 in Westlake and 1,142 in Strongsville. More than a third of the Republicans in Solon and Bay Village switched. Pepper Pike had the most
I've been sitting on this one for awhile now, but figured this was as good a time as any to type this out. In addition to being the recent former home of Kelvin "The Cheatin' Snake" Sampson (the man who tarnished the record of Indiana basketball), Bloomington, Indiana is also the place that Defiance, Ohio calls home. Their latest album The Fear, The Fear, The Fear made my top 50 of 2007 list because I loved its frantic lo-fi folk-punk anthems that are wonderfully catchy and melodic but lovingly unpolished and unrefined. The male/female vocal tradeoffs that are often layered to an effect that makes the Defiance, Ohio's message sound urgent; as if their manifest must be heard…now! Guitars, banjos, pianos, and violins collide into a ramshackle rhythm section in raucous fashion as if all t

It has been a moment since I have posted a blog on here my apologies go out to my customers and my active rain friends...I hope this all will be changing soon. On March 4, 2008, Clinton and Obama both missed major opportunities for their campaigns. Clinton needed large margins in Texas and Ohio to close the gap in the delegate lead that Obama has over her. Obama needed to continue his wins to all but assure himself the nomination and bring Senator Clinton one step closer to leaving the race. Tuesday did not accomplish either of these goals for Clinton or Obama. The Obama campaign put Clinton’s net delegate gain from Tuesday at 4. Others say it could only be as large as 12. Tuesday gave Clinton momentum and wins that she desperately needed but was not the net gain she needed in delegates. Clinton won Rhode Island, Texas, and Ohio on Tuesday giving her momentum going into Pennsylvania in April. Obama continues to hold on t
Rush Limbaugh pointed out a very obvious fact today: The liberal media cannot stand when they are held to the same standards as Republicans. A few months ago, when Conservatives were furious that Liberal Democrats and Liberal Independents could vote for John McCain in the New Hampshire Primary and Iowa Caucuses, the MSM were talking about how wonderful Democracy is. They talked about how great...

Hillary Clinton wins Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island. This is more than crazy and she is back from the dead. Here is an article from Yahoo News that I found to be a great synopsis on what is coming up in the 2008 Race:
WASHINGTON - Congratulations, Hillary Rodham Clinton. You did what your husband said [...]
Barack Obama claimed last night that his delegate lead would remain virtually unchanged after the votes in the states of Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island.Interestingly, the spin from the Clinton camp and the media is that Clinton has secured a big victory, taking 3 out of the 4 states. We dont read it that way. Having been well behind in the polls, as late as a few weeks ago, Obama has made massive gains in all states, with perhaps his gains slowing only in the last days before the vote. With counting almost complete, the tallys in the biggest states of Texas and Ohio, have Obama trailing slightly in Texas and only 8 points behind in Ohio.Texas is showing a 51% to 47% split, with Ohio at 54% to 46%.The actual delegate counts are still to come in, but estimations are that Obama will stil
I've plugged in the complete results from the March 4th primaries, plus the latest updates from Democratic Convention Watch. The numbers now stand as follows:Clinton Area Superdeleages: 263Clinton Affirmers: 125 (47.5%)Clinton Defectors: 46 (17.5%)Clinton Undeciders: 92 (35%)Obama Area Superdelegates: 321Obama Affirmers: 123 (38.3%)Obama Defectors: 82 (25.6%)Obama Undeciders: 116 (36.1%)Pre-Vote Area Superdelegates: 136Early Clinton Committers: 34 (25%)Early Obama Committers: 26 (19.1%)Early Undeciders: 76 (55.9%)The only percentage that has seen a drastic change from a week ago is Obama's affirmer percentage, which has increased 4.7%. This reflects both Senator Obama's good week in recruiting superdelegates from areas he'd already won (like Georgia and Alabama)
Big Wins for Clinton in Texas and Ohio; McCain Is In as G.O.P. Choice - The New York TimesExcerpt:"Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton defeated Senator Barack Obama in the Ohio and Texas primaries on Tuesday, ending a string of defeats and allowing her to soldier on in a Democratic presidential nomination race that now seems unlikely to end any time soon."
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton threw up a roadblock on Sen. Barack Obama’s path to the Democratic presidential nomination by winning the giant Ohio and Texas primaries, NBC News projected Wednesday morning.
It almost appeared that Hillary Clinton would face her final shove aside in the race for the Texas and Ohio primaries but she has come out kicking after Barrack Obama's 11 state straight wins! She is still in the race for the American Presidency after having won Ohio yesterday night and she is still in the Lead in Texas.Im sure many would like to receive the results(unnoficial ) as they come
Barack Obama| Barack Obama Streak Ends - Barack Obama Wins Vermont But Not Texas or Ohio Obama saw his winning streak come to a close today in Ohio and Texas. Hillary Clinton soundly defeated Barack Obama in Ohio and enjoyed a narrow victory over Obama in Texas.Barack Obama did win in Vermont, but Ohio and Texas are "all or nothing" states and the results narrowed Barack Obama's lead over Hillary Clinton.Hillary Clinton smugly announced that, "as Ohio goes, so goes the nation." I have a feeling that much of the nation is feeling a bit sick and queasy (to say the least) at the thought of Hillary Clinton as President.;)Thankfully, third-party candidates don't have to bother with the delegation process...and you still have a choice.;)...The Clever Cynic for President.:D The Clever Cynic fo
The pollsters are proclaiming a dead heat between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in Ohio. Rush Limbaugh is urging people to vote for Hilary. Will there be enough new voters voting for Obama? Will enough people vote for Hilary to stop Obama? As soon as the results are clear, they will be posted here. Here are some comments from AOL Hot Seat:“Truthfully, I think that History will tell our posterity that 2008 was the year that “America Woke Up” and realized, you can’t keep electing Liberal Socialist Demoncrats into office and allowing them to keep waving the American Flag, while they are constantly empowering Government to regulate our thoughts, actions, and desires, with absolutely no ability of freedom of choice in how we will live!
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton defeated Senator Barack Obama in Ohio on Tuesday, ending a string of defeats and giving her a chance to soldier on in the Democratic presidential race.Mrs. Clinton also won Rhode Island, while Mr. Obama won in Vermont. The contest in the day’s other big state — Texas, which was having a primary and a caucus — remained extraordinarily close early Wednesday morning. The Associated Press and television networks, however, projected that Mrs. Clinton would win the Texas primary.By winning decisively in Ohio, Mrs. Clinton was able to deliver her party’s only victory speech of the evening. And the result there allowed her to cast Tuesday as the beginning of a comeback even though the full story of the results was not yet known and she stood a good chance of
CNN just reported that Barack Obama has filed a lawsuit earlier this evening to keep 15 polling stations open until 9pm ET tonight. A judge agreed and said it was due to inclement weather. Ballot shortages also played a part. The 15 polling stations are in Cuyahoga county, in the Cleveland metropolitan area, a critical area for Barack Obama. Some of the polling stations had already closed and had to re-open.Keep an eye on the results as they come in, the first 1% reporting showed Hillary with almost a 20% lead. There's no way in hell she's going to win by 20% without fixing the ballots. Ohio has a long history of election fraud, particularly in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential Elections.
