Day 6This weekend the Penn State – Ohio State game was the excuse for an enormous volunteer campaign to see voters, eye-to-eye. The numbers are in for a contest between the Obama field organizations in Ohio and Pennsylvania to knock on the most doors over the weekend.Unfortunately, Ohio won with 385,685 knocks to Pennsylvania’s 378,501 knocks. Kickoff in a few minutes. A night game in Madison is the biggest test yet for Terrelle Pryor. The good news is that Wisconsin is a pretty traditional offense. None of that chasing the spread like Troy, Minnesota or Ohio University.
I have a bad feeling about this game. I sure hope Jim Tressel has something up his sleeve for this game. Ohio State being without Chris Wells is going to make things even tougher.3-0 Ohio State. Impressive drive. Showed they can move the ball and knock USC off the line. I like the Terrelle Pryor rotation. Now they need to mix it up with him. Let him throw the ball downfield so USC can't tee off on
USC vs. Ohio State...oh boy. This game has been talked about since LAST YEAR. National title implications are at stake and the 2 teams are coming off totally different types of momentum from their last game.USC destroyed Virginia, who was a bowl team last year, 52-7 two weeks ago. Seven different Trojans scored TDs. Ohio State squeaked (should've lost) by Ohio University 26-14. Frankly, Ohio State
26-14? That's certainly not the way Ohio State wants to go into the USC game. They should have beat Ohio University by 40.On the other hand it could have been worse. Ask West Virginia.
As an L.A. native, Mo'Kelly is an unabashed 'SC Football fan. Even back in the early 70s when they were great, even in the 80s when they were horrible and especially today. The smack talking has been heating up as of late as my Ohio State friends have the misinformed and misguided opinion that the #3 Buckeyes will be coming to Los Angeles and beating the #1 team in the nation, the USC Trojans on S
The proof is in the spellcheck. OSU fans are morons. I will give goold ole' #10 the benefit of the doubt that he thinks that OHIO ends in "O" even though he is clearly making an "A" like those goddamn Village People. I am pretty sure however that there is only one "H" in OHIO. F*cking retards.
According to the Columbus Dispatch Ohio State is to play West Virginia the next two years in basketball. Bob Huggins gets the matchup he always wanted at Cincinnati. Rebuffed in his attempts to schedule Ohio State during 16 years as Cincinnati basketball coach, Bob Huggins finally will get his long-awaited game against the Buckeyes. I’m not sure if I told anybody, but I’m originally from Ohio. Growing up in a town of only 5,000 people, I’m a small town girl at heart. Things were so much different then. When I was twelve years old, I used to bike ride four miles on country roads to the neighboring town to visit friends. That’s not likely to happen nowadays.
Another thing you probably didn’t know is that when I was i

Terelle Pryor, the most reputed quarterback footballer in high school has been called upon to play for the Ohio State University and was instrumental in leading his school, Jeannette High School, to WPIAL and PIAA football championships. "If everyone's here," Pryor said to start the news conference, "University of Ohio State."And so starts the college saga of Terrelle Pryor. He took an extra month to make up his mind, and he still got the name of the school wrong. I guess he's never watched Monday Night Football's player introductions. It was a moment eerily reminiscent of Anthony Morelli's famous "University of Penn State" comment the day he turned his back on the Pitt program he once committed to. For OSU's sake, I hope Pryor's college career turns out better than Morelli's.On signing day, Pryor famously delayed his choice, saying that he also wanted to visit Penn State and possibly Oregon. A month later, he visited neither PSU nor Oregon. For those of you looking for the exact quote, here it is: "I want to visit Penn S
Today, Terrelle Pryor made official a decision that had been expected for the last two months. The star quarterback for Jeannette (Pa.) High School announced at a press conference today that he will be attending Ohio State. Pryor had originally planned to announce his college choice on national signing day, but instead announced that he would be delaying his decision. He had said he was ready to choose Ohio State, but his father had convinced him to give Penn State a closer look. At the time, the 6-6 quarterback said he was still considering Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon. He said he would make an official visit to Penn State and might make a trip to Oregon, but neither materialized. Last weekend, Pryor said he had narrowed the list to two schools, but wouldn't identi
Ohio State beats Michigan yet again as Terrelle Pryor signs for the Buckeyes. The signs were positive all along but you never really know what a kid that age is going to do. Now the question is, when does he hit the field? You have to think there is no chance of him starting this year short of a complete Todd Boeckman meltdown. Throw in there that Antonio Henton showed promise in spot duty last year and it's unlikely Tressel will hand the offense over to him. On the other hand it's also likely he will see some time throughout the year, especially since the battle the following year for quarterback will be between he and Henton. It's gives Buckeye sports fans something to talk about since the basketball season ended with such a letdown.
Lloyd Carr, the Michigan Wolverines National Championship coach is stepping down as we speak in a press conference that was scheduled today after another loss to rival Ohio State. I am sure that Buckeye fans are pissed because at least with Carr leading Big Blue, they are almosg guaranteed a win.

Just about thirteen minutes to go in this game, and it's not an easy game to watch. It's a cold, rainy, defensive struggle. If not for a singular letdown on defense by the Wolverines, this is still a 7-3 game. But I'm really having problems with Chad Henne. I know he's a great quarterback, and is showing guts playing with the shoulder injury, but he just doesn't have it today. I'm not sure if its the shoulder or not, but right now he's just not giving his team a chance to win. He's overthrowing the ball, throwing behind receivers, and fumbling. I'm not going to argue that Ryan Mallett is a better overall quarterback, but at least he made some plays last week against Wisconsin. It's really a tough spot for Lloyd Carr though. How do you tell a senior playing in his last game ever, against Ohio State no less, that he has to take a seat? He better find a way though. Michigan just got the ball back, still down two scores. It's now or never.
Major Shake-Up: It was the first time in 11 years the # 1 and 2 teams in the AP poll lost on the same day.
Scarlet and Gray: The Buckeyes received 50 of a possible 65 first-place votes, and were not the only team to advance. South Florida, which had never been ranked before this season, moved up three spots to No. 2, jumping over No. 3 Boston College.
The Bulls received 11 first-place votes after a 64-12 victory over Central Florida. BC’s unimpressive 27-14 victory over Notre Dame helped get the Eagles one first-place vote. No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 5 LSU each received one first-place vote, as did No. 12 Arizona State.
Making History in the Record Books: The last time six teams received first-place votes after the first month of the season was Nov. 25, 1990.
A day after the top two teams in the AP Top 25 lost, the Buckeyes jumped two spots Sunday in the media poll and became the third school this season to hold the No. 1 ranking.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State must pay former men’s basketball coach Jim O’Brien more than $2.4 million for his wrongful firing in 2004, an appeals court ordered Thursday. Ferris wheel. Stuffed animals. Real animals likes cows, pigs, sheep, and rabbits. Elephant ears. Petting zoo. Games that are impossible to win. The heat of summer. Gravitron. And of course there was Grizzly, the 1100 pound big. The list goes on and on, and there is only one place you can find all of these together, the famous state fairs. Today I made it to the Ohio State Fair, great timing to be in Columbus for a couple days.
State Fairs are a staple of USA culture. Im not sure if this trip would have been complete without attending one somewhere along the way. I wonder how much state fairs differ from state to state. Im guessing they cant be that much different, maybe if you go to the Alaska or Hawaii state fairs. They are all modeled the same. I would love to be a foreigner and come to a USA state fair and see what its like. I just cant imagine fairs in other countries having the same random collection of ______ (I cant even find a word for it, I dont
Long Hailed as perhaps the premiere people watching event of the Midwest, The Ohio State Fair never fails to thrill.
We went out to the Ohio State Fair last Wednesday and had a grand old time. Yes, it was hot but it’s August and it’s been hot and it’s going to be hot all week and it won’t be here next week. It was a good night too because it really didn’t seem very crowded at all. Even Though PAT BENATAR was there!
And while Ms Benatar may claim that Hell is for Children, so is Kiddieland at the Ohio State Fair. Our kids are old enough to not get enough of the fun kid rides and they’re past the snooze rides. In retrospect, it would have better to get an all day wristband but at $20 a pop, it seemed like overkill at the time. Trust me, those tickets go quick.
Sadly, it was too hot at the fair for the many assorted chickens, roosters, bunnies, pigs, goats, sheep and llamas the kids enjoy seeing every year.&

NEW YORK (AP) — Ohio State, ranked No. 1 entering the NCAA tournament and went on to lose to Florida in the title game, will be one of the four early round hosts for the NIT Season Tip-Off. Syracuse, Washington and Texas A&M will be the other first- and second-round sites for the 16-team tournament, it was announced Thursday. At the end of the certification period, a paralegal may be recertified if the continuing legal education and reference requirements continue to be met.

However, it looks like Florida (3 top QB signees) beat Ohio State in this category, too. Fourth-year Junior Todd Boeckman (19 PaYd, 0 PaTD, 0 PaINT) is pencilled-in as the leader on the depth chart, but no one has handed him the job, yet. Two games, two, last second losses. Who would’ve thought it would be Chris Lofton who would miss a free throw to possibly lose it for the team?
Funny how far we’ve come. From the era of “Buzz-(kill) Ball” where a loss to a top 5 team by 2 points at the end of the game would be the watermark for the season to now, where a loss to any team, regardless of rank, is unacceptable. Bruce Pearl really must be the man. The man who must order his team to shoot 500 free throws during practice that is.
Ohio State basically beat Tennessee using the BasketVols game against them, shooting three point shots at opportune times and causing quick shots on the other end. Overall, it seemed like State was able to do just enough of what was needed, using their size advantage to um, their advantage.
If nothing else, Tennessee shouldn’t be hit too hard in the rankings considering OSU’s ranking and the small margin of victory not to mention that it wasn’t a c
Not sure about any of this anymore other than the fact that they need to have a playoff. USC just had to lose to really muck things up and force the voters to make an uneasy choice. Do they actually put the best teams in the order that they believe they deserved to be in... or do they change this vote to create the matchup that they would most 'like' to see.
Clearly going into this past weekend, most voters believed Michigan was a better team than Florida. Michigan led by 84 points in the Harris Poll and by 40 points in the USA today poll. The rule of thumb in these polls is that you don't lose your place in the top five unless you lose a game. As Michigan Coach Lloyd Carr stated rather frankly... had USC won on Saturday, the voters would not have moved Florida ahead of Michigan. He's absolutely right. In what might be the largest voting mockery in history, one voter put Florida ahead Ohio State just for good measure.
Now.... was the game on Saturday really so impressive that vo
We're going to try our best to help feed into the buildup for one of the biggest college football games of the season. Saturday, the Michigan Wolverines -- ranked #2 -- take on the top ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. Game aside, fans and alums for both schools have been anticipating this matchup for weeks and the spill-over is generating much ado about one of the greatest rivalries of all-time. The Jaunt has been examining school and neighborhood behaviors and we are here to present a snapshot of the intense "fansanity" that has ensued. You know a game has hit "when worlds collide" proportions when fans are issued a list of safety tips when traveling to the opposing team's territory. Speaking of Ohio State territory.
