Oddities in the US Dollar ETF UUP
There was a strange, large scale overnight gap in the UUP Bullish US Dollar ETF which wasn’t confirmed as strongly in its bearish counterpart, the UDN.  Let’s take a look at these two ETFs on their daily chart to see if we can get a better picture. Bullish Dollar ETF - UUP: Price gapped from $26.00 down [...]

      Plarn Purses and Other Oddities
I've finally begun making plarn purses and I'm so excited! Everyone I show them to is very intrigued and they love what I've done. Here is my first attempt, using various colors of grocery bags: Then I tried a clutch. .. Then a clutch with a different process... Here's my favorite of them all, a large market bag: The most recent one I've made has a flap and a 'button' of sorts... I

      Airedale Oddities News
In my infinite quest for Airedale related news items of interest I was alerted to a recent New York Times article. The title of the article uncovered in my search is titled, “The Mysterious Cough, Caught on Film.” A professor of engineering at Pennsylvania State University has captured on film the seemingly invisible, a cough. 80s pop dumper oddities
I'm off to sunny Mallorca for a few days, which will be very weird after being in rain-deluged Northumberland today. From wellies to flip flops in the space of 24 hours. For the minute, though, I shall leave you with these oddities from the 80s: singles I found in the pop dumper. No one bought them, hence the flog-off in the bargain bin, but I loved them and hugged them and called them my own. A

An Iowa brand of fear (and other oddities)
If you know anything about the mert, it's that I grew up with hurricanes on the east coast in Maryland (off of the Chesapeake Bay), and experienced my first earthquake a week after being transfered to Oakland , California while in the Navy. Yeah, I'm talking about the big one that collapsed the Bay Bridge, the very bridge that we had been on only 10 minutes before it collapsed? But I digress... Wha

      A Few Baseball Oddities
Though my sweet wife cannot understand how you could watch such a boring sport, I enjoy watching and playing baseball. I'm also a fan of Baseball trivia. Recently, a few oddities have surfaced that I have found interesting:Scott Baker struck out four batters in one three-out inning. Overachiever. The Dodgers beat the Angels without getting a hit. Spanish fashion oddities:
Supermodelo 2008 got off to a quiet start as Operación Triunfo gathers even more momentum here in Spain. The popular Supermodel contest usually rebounds once the Operación Triunfo wake surges (or at least it did last year). But honestly, I don’t know what to make of Supermodelo 2008 this year; half the instructors are in fact French! Readers will be left [...]

Although it was an official product Nintendo took nothing to do with it's development and I think that shows. Supposedly it could track your hand movements and translate them into on-screen movements though it was pretty unreliable. To be honest it made it HARDER to do e

      WW: Oddities at the carnival
I’m not much into sci-fi, but I thought this was an interesting use of scrap metal… Who knew that broken bike chains could be “scary”? I need one of these. Seriously, this thing actually had some speed and can hold up to 400 lbs.

Laurenzo's Italian Center16385 W.Dixie Hwy.N.Miami Beach FL 3316www.laurenzosmarket.comWhere is it?This is hard to find, and if in doubt you may have to ask for help.To get to the bathrooms, you'll first need to head to the deli counter (not the meat counter, fish counter, pasta counter, prepared foods counter, breads counter or cookie counter -- which all look alike to some degree). Once there, look for where there's a separation in the bar that's about three feet across (between the deli meats and the olive bar). Go through that separation and into the storage area behind the deli area. Then take an immediate right (if you go straight, you'll be in the storage rooms and meat lockers) and you'll find the bathrooms facing you. What's it like?Laurenzo's is a large Italian Market in North Miami that specializes in authentic Italian ingredients, like in-store cured meats, imported prosciutto and porchetta, rare mushrooms, wines, as well as top-quality meats, fish, cheeses, fresh pa

      More Wedding Oddities
Just had a knock at the door and was pleasantly surprised to find the UPS guy there with a package. Pleasant because the package was for me, surprised because I’ve been too broke to order anything lately. Turns out it was a groomsmen gift from the couple whose wedding I’ve written about before. No, I wasn’t a groomsman (thank God!), but I was instrumental in getting them together in the first place, so it was still a nice thought. It does make me wonder if anyone ever gets the members of their wedding party useful gifts, however. Having been married, known many married couples, and even worked in the engraved gifts industry I’ve seen far more than my fair share of groomsmen and bridesmaids gifts. They’re typically borderline elegant (depending on budget), overly appreciated, and rarely functional in any way. Still, it’s an honorable tradition and one that I support. Just make sure to put some thought into these thank you gifts. none

      Couple Oddities
I’m home again yay! The night before last I dreamed that we were on a planet, me and some other people… well, it could have been Earth not sure. And it was covered by a very thick material. And someone was saying how fascinating it was, as we were walking on this material, that it was all one pieces and wrapped around the entire Earth. Hrm. Then when we needed to get off the planet there were these tree like objects, and we hung on and they blasted us off to the spaceship above. It was a wild ride! Earlier in the night I dreamed I was with my sister in some lobby.. doctor or dentist or something like that. And there was a door that was so mis marked it was weird. It said 1st floor, but it really was the 2nd floor. And it had directions that were wrong… I don’t remember so much now, but it was an odd one!

Oddities at 9th hole par for Bridgestone (AP)
AKRON, Ohio (AP) — The ninth hole is where all the action is at Firestone Country Club. Tiger Woods struck a ball that landed in the crook of a woman’s arm and he later chipped in for par. Then Rory Sabbatini, in second place six shots back of Woods at the time, took offense at a spectator’s question and had the fan expelled from the course. In other words, it was another routine day at the ninth during the final round of the Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday. Remember how Woods more…

Google Earth Reveals Oddities and Secrets
The editors at PC World spent some time using Google Earth to scour the surface of the planet, and they turned up some incredibly strange sights. The giant portrait of Oprah cut through a field by an Arizona farmer is one thing – you almost expect something like that – but the apparently natural phenomena are the truly mind-boggling ones. The image at left, for example, is an overhead view of a natural geological formation in Alberta, Canada. Locals call it The Badlands Guardian, but based on the ear phone, I’d prefer something more along the lines of The Early Adopter. And is it just me, or does that look like Sigmund Freud sitting atop the Guardian’s head?In less entertaining news, Google Earth may have put the company on China’s bad side after the circulation of a satellite shot of what appears to be a new Chinese sub made the rounds on the web, according to IDG News.—Gregory Mone

The Parasite Plane 9/11 flight path oddities
Thursday, 17 August 2006 Click to see real sizeClick to see real size A review of the highly suspicious activity in the sky on 9-11. When does a series of coincidences stop being a series of coincidence and become damning evidence? When it's 9-11... New altitude data obtained through Freedom of Information shows the meeting points I previously pointed out are also the EXACT points that the hijacked planes began their descent towards their targets. Current theories about what happened in the air on 9/11 are based on a mixture of speculation and circumstances. Over the past five years, more information has slowly been released allowing a clearer picture to slowly be developed. The government's story about suicide hijackers has had to face up to a lot of scepticism for a number of reasons. Those reasons include: Complex maneuvres supposedly performed by individuals who have been widely reported to be barely capbale of flying a smal

      Little Oddities!
Well this post is a little overdue. I was recently tagged by Mamma, I am supposed to tell you five 'slightly odd' things about myself. Obviously this has taken a great deal of thought, as being a Saint I am of course perfection personified... oh alright then, yes I know I am a rather worldly Saint so there may just be a few minor blemishes. When texting from my mobile I have to use correct spelling and grammar. Likewise when receiving a text it makes me cringe when the sender doesn't do the same. My wardrobe and my shoe cupboard have to be colour co-ordinated. Yes I do have a slight thing about shoes, in fact I could probably give Imelda Marcos a run for her money... in the correctly colour co-ordinated trainers of course.I have creaky knees, no really they creak very loudly when I walk up and down stairs. I went to the Doctors about it, he reassured me that there was nothing to worry about, they were just noisy knees and gave me the technical name for the condition. I saw JT a littl
