Male obsessions you should leave to the boys
Fishing. Because it involves sitting on a damp riverbank (often at night) and touching wriggly worms. Dangerous sports. However brave you are, he’ll be so wrapped up in his own daringness that he won’t notice you. Tedious music. Life’s too short to remember which bass player left to form some other cruddy band. And you’ll never be [...]

      Obsessions and Distractions and Apologies
I am obsessed. Or maybe I am keeping my head wrapped up with Cella to avoid my writing. I know my posts here have trickled down to nothing. But, as they say, writing is like breathing . . . we writers need to write to live. I should be reading . . . but here is me.My house is one of its shitty states again. It's raining. Good news is that I've received some submissions for the journal. Of course, I would find my way back to it - I'm obsessed, remember? I got a submission call listed in a couple of good places. I still have a lot of work to do on the website. I am sitting here typing and too many "to do's" are racing through my head. I spent Saturday chaperoning a school band middle school's field trip. Tube water slides really suck when you're claustrophobic. Teenage girls are

      Positive obsessions
From hanging out with Randy for a few years, I've picked up on several interesting catch phrases such as "webs of significance", "counterintuitive hooks", and "building your platform". I've got a new one to add to the list: positive obsessions. Read this article and ponder this for me. What are you passionate about? If you have a dream, do you literally "dream" about it, or is it just on some vague "list of things to do at some point"? Try OBSESSING about it.

More Evidence -- Parkinson's Drugs May be Creating Obsessions...
Eight years ago, neurologist Mark Stacy encountered a strange problem with two of his patients. Both men had Parkinson's disease, and they suddenly developed an out-of-control urge to gamble. Both maxed out their credit cards and lost $60,000 in just a few short months. Stacy realized that the gambling sprees started just after he had increased each man's dose of a drug to control Parkinson's, a movement disorder that afflicts up to 1 million people in the USA.USA Today August 26, 2007

A Great Blush and Some Lipstick and Gloss Obsessions
Bobbi Brown Blush in ApricotSince I'm on vacation now, you won't believe this, I don't travel with three traincases containing every make-up item I own. Unbelievable, I know. I know you expected me to travel with at least one traincase. Sorry to disappoint. However, I did bring along Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot. In the pan it's a heart stopping (that would be to you, I mark sunrise at the time the sunlight brightens up my pigment-endowed eyeshadows and blushes just right) bright apricot with strong pink undertones. For those who are scared that it's a clown-effect waiting to happen, rest assured that the blush itself is sheer enough that it makes application easy. The blush has just the right amount of pigment that I felt that my skunk brush gave me too sheer an application and chose a conventional blush brush instead. The texture blends beautifully into my cheeks and allows me to calibrate the intensity of my application. The blush itself is long lasting and gives me an innocent

      Obsessions
A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children... "You all have obsessions," he observed. To the first mother, Mary, he said, "You are obsessed with eating. You've even named your daughter Candy." He turned to the second Mom, Ann: "Your obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny." He turns to the

Malaysian Malay women and their bodily obsessions?
You know what, fellow readers… Ever since I started blogging on the subject of Malay women (wanita Melayu) here in this blog, I have received many emails and phone calls from long lost friends. What do you know? Blogging can indeed rekindle back long lost friendships. :) Of course, my long lost friends didn’t simply drop by to say hi. They did bombard me with interesting questions, coaxing me to

Sexual Obsessions and Cravings Are Found In The Zodiac Zone

      My Top 5 Obsessions
Nick from "The Details", has tagged me for his post "I've Been Tagged : Obsessions". What I need to is to list down my top 5 obsessions and write a paragraph for each one of those. At the end of the entry, I need to tag five more bloggers to repeat the same thing. The other 5 bloggers need to list down their top 5 obsessions and tag 5 more bloggers. They Are Obsessions, They’re My Obsessions
I’m IT! My fabulous friend Mommy The Maid has tagged me. I’m supposed to list 5 things I am obsessive about. Then, I’m supposed to tag 5 people to do the same on their blog. I have two problems with this: 1) Only five things? I could rattle off 30, easy. You’re probably saying, “Well, if there are so many, this should be a quick and easy post to write, Leslie. Bust it out, girl!” Not really. Narrowing down 30 things to 5 is tough, especially when I have to consider which ones will endear me to you and which ones will send you running. 2) I’m scared to tag people. Who likes being tagged and who doesn’t? How do I know? What if I’m tagging someone too much and they’re all, “Well, I did it the first time to be nice and now all she does is tag me. She’s a meme monster. A MEME MONSTER!” Then, there might be people who are like, “What about me? What’s wrong with me? She never tags m

      My Obsessions
I was tagged by Mommy the Maid to list 5 things I’m obsessed about. I couldn’t think of many so I decided to do 5 things I’m obsessed with. Now that’s a long list of things! Here are 5 of them: Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha Designer handbags - my favorites are Coach & Burberry Brothers & Sisters - this show has now taken over Grey’s Anatomy as my “must see” tv! Rob Lowe is gorgeous and powerful! Great combination! Carrot Cake from Trader Joes - Have you ever tried it? OMG! It’s to die for! It usually sells out quickly but once in a while I’ll get lucky and find a few left. And it’s only $4.99! Blogging - I wish I weren’t obsessed but I am. Sometimes I think about taking a break or even stopping altogether but I just can’t bring myself to do it. Looks like you guys are stuck with me for a while! I’m tagging: Mejojac’s Memos, Sandier Pastures, The Pumpkin Patch, Crissybug’s Crazy Clan,

The Many Obsessions of Me (or: Somebody Slap Me)
I have a deadline for my current novel (self-imposed, mostly), a contemporary YA. I'm excited about the book - loving it, actually. But I've been sidetracked. My first obsession of the week was with learning blog design. I opened a "test" blog to play around with code, layout, images - I wanted to tweak the heck out of Blogger Beta, to get a whole new look and feel, while maintaining the functionality of Beta's cool new features. Like moving sidebar items with one click, changing the colors of text and backgrounds without dipping into template code. I'm happy to say I've done it and I've applied it to my home-education blog (sorry, it's private so I can't show off my work). Eventually I will redesign this one. I have the images all picked out over at istockphoto, and the color scheme, and all I have to do is some photoshop work on the graphics and ... But that book! The deadline!I got back to it briefly and had a breakthrough in a scene, but then I got feedback on another manus

      La Gringa's obsessions
Ha ha! Tricked you again with that catchy title, didn't I?I ♥ Google (most of the time)I'm obsessed with Google. I love to see the searches that people make that lead them to my blog. It gives me ideas about what to write about. But lately I've been getting a lot of hits from people, umm, shall we say, "looking for love in all the wrong places."I can't tell you exactly − and you probably don't want to know anyway − because if I spell out what they are looking for, Google will add it to their database and then I'll get even more of those perverts visiting.I have been racking my brain to try to figure out why Google is sending them to my blogicito. I finally figured it out: I made the mistake of being a little too explicit about chicken facts and used the s_x word. Jeesh! Is that all it takes? Here is another search from today that I can't quite figure out, but it is funny:"robberies done with a shovel in 2007"I'm just trying to picture that....?I ♥ TechnoratiI'm also obs
