When I heard and saw trailers for Two Worlds for the Xbox 360 a while back I was pretty pumped for the game. The trailer seemed to show good graphics and it looked like a lot of fun. Although noticing right away from the trailer that Two Worlds is going to be a copy of Oblivion, I still thought it might be good. Later on when the game came out I was going to buy the game until the first day I heard from a friend that it was one of the worst games he had ever played. I did not really believe that it was the worst but, I did take his word that is was not the best and saved my money.

I wanted to add a funny picture of a giant woman eating a cowering man. Somewhere along the line in my Google searches, I became a lot more interested in the story, though.
As I mentioned in Sara's comments, if someone as intelligent as Bill Maher could display such verbal diarrhea of ignorance, imagine what the Lowest Common Denominator out there must think of breastfeeding in public. I'm at a loss for words.
But I'll get over that.

An oblivion drop is when a web page falls completely off of the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages).
This is different from just falling in the SERPS. If your web page is the 866th result returned for a Google search, this isn’t an oblivion drop — it’s just a problem!
Early in 2004, webmasters noticed that some web pages, for some search terms, would oblivion drop occasionally for random lengths of time. No one outside of Google seems to know the cause for an oblivion drop.
An example would be if one day without notice this page fell from being the #65 Google result for the search term “oblivion drop” to not being returned at all in a Google search for “oblivion drop”.

Although many gamers and developers alike are declaring that games need to be telling more open-ended, complex stories, Ken Rolston and Bob Bates figure that's exactly what they shouldn't be doing. Not because it's a bad idea, but because there just isn't a good enough way to do it at the moment. Speaking at GCDC, Rolston, lead designer for Oblivion, and Bates, author of Game Design: The Art and Business of Creating Games, discussed the difficulties in creating games with complex storylines that gave the player a variety of options. Part of the problem, as Rolston sees it, is designers' "inability to pay off on all the choices that there should be available. It's so difficult to make a genuinely complex dramatic choice." Bates agreed, pointing out that providing the necessary content to support each and every possible decision the player might make is a "logistical nightmare." It goes without saying that the Japanese love their RPGs. Hell, they love them so much that they, to date, have made over twenty sequels to a supposed “Final” Fantasy (that counts sequels, spin-offs, etc.). For a console that is struggling as bad as the Xbox 360 is in Japan, it would be a no-brainer that RPGs such as Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata would only help the console’s cause. Especially since we’re not getting Metal Gear Solid 4 (sorry kiddies, we’re not gettin’ it — get over it.).
So when news that The Elder Scrolls IV: Onlivion was making it’s way to Japan, suffice to say it was destined to be a hit — and a hit it was, selling over 35,000 copies in it’s first day of release in the land of the rising sun.

Two Worlds publisher Zuxxez’s Dirk Hassinger said he believes their MMORPG is a more complex and in-depth game than Oblivion: “Two Worlds may seem to be in the Oblivion template, but the two games are very different once you get beyond the surface. I play my Xbox 360 when my wife is at work or if she is doing something around the apartment. My hope is that it won’t take away time that we could spend together. I usually get about 25 minutes while she takes her shower at night then by the time she is ready to get in bed I finish up.
Last night when she got out of the shower she sat down next to me and asked me to show her Oblivion (my favorite game). I gave her a walkthrough and explained the aspects of the game. I showed her the complex battle system and environments. She was genuinely interested and perhaps even impressed by it.
Those 15 minutes combined with the 35 minutes of reading together in bed, combined with the 10 minutes of her lavishing me with compliments = one in the top one hundred hours of my life. It’s a wonderful life.

Two weeks ago I set out to finish the Thieves Guild quests in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Unlike the Fighters Guild quests the Thieves Guild went pretty quick and had much more attractive prizes. Right now I’m not too excited about the Mage’s Guild but I do want to see it through because it marks the last set of Achievements before the ones surrounding the main quest.
While I’m a bit burnt out on Oblivion right now I was spurred on by two things I came across. First off there was news earlier this week that the first full Oblivion expansion, Shivering Isles, would be coming out soon for both the 360 and PC. You can read more on Shivering Isles over at Joystiq. If you’re a 360 gamer like me you’ll probably be interested to hear that the expansion will be shared through XBox Live Marketplace.
