      Obama and Intifada
Redstate - Obama is being linked to the radical group International Solidarity Movement (ISM), as reported in the Canada Free Press on Tuesday. Ali Abunimah, Vice President of the Arab American Action Network in Chicago and co-founder of the Electronic Intifada, a website of the ISM, posted an article on Monday in which he outlines why he believes Obama is really very in tune with the Reverend's views on Israel. He even quotes Obama's remarks to a group of Jewish leaders in Cleveland to comfort his fellow anti-Semites that "Obama implicitly admitted that Wright's views were rooted in opposition to Israel's deep ties to apartheid South Africa, and thus entirely reasonable.""Obama's association with the ISM through his church and lobbying in Chicago goes even deeper than just his past links

All negatives that his opponents have mustered against him, have completely failed to negatively affect his campaign in any way. Sure, many people grew angry and weary at him over the Reverend Wright issue, but during Tuesdays primaries Obama proved he can still get votes. Obama Picks Experienced Strategists, Clinton Picks Loyalists
Today we learned another important piece to the Mark Penn saga. According to the Huffington Post, Penn believed the Democratic race to be winner take all states just as it is for the Republican Party. Mark Penn was the chief strategist for Senator Clinton in the early stages of the game. Penn was “confident” in saying that winning California would tip the race to Clinton once she captured the state’s entire 370 delegates. The major flaw to that strategy is the fact that the delegates are apportioned based on percentage of the vote each candidate got in that state. Harold Ickes was appalled at the sheer ignorance of someone in charge of such an important task. The reason Penn had such an important job on the campaign was not because he knew what he was doing, it was

      Obama, Wright & Racism
I've taken my time since last Tuesday's Obama press conference in which he disowned his former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, to stand back and gather my thoughts about the entire episode because the issues involved are more complex than they've been presented in the media (and because I've had a tough week health-wise - which makes it that much harder to think). The conclusion I've reached is that no one is blameless in this affair: not Obama, not Wright, and not the media. Further, none of those involved has completely accepted responsibility for their part in what happened. And that guarantees that the situation is not over.Let me start off by saying that I agree with much of what Glen Ford wrote at Black Agenda Report and some of what Bill Moyers had to say after Obama's latest proc

      Obama participates in opposite day.
Even dumber than Obama saying that Republicans, whose leader didn't want anything to do with legitimate issue, Wright, play dirty politics. Even more of a stretch than Republicans being the "divisive" ("two Americas? tax breaks for the rich?) party is the idea that Democratic policies would lower the price of gasoline. It's like putting Britney Spears in charge of a youth group because the girls are too slutty. Exactly how is "going after" oil companies going to lower the price of gas? How is restricting drilling in Alaska, the gulf, and everyplace else going to lower gas prices? Truly Bizarro. Prager has a good commentary on the speech. Powered by b2evolution.

Support for Clinton Wanes as Obama Sees Finish Line
By PATRICK HEALY and JEFF ZELENYMay 8, NY TimesSenator Hillary Rodham Clinton struck a publicly defiant posture on Wednesday about continuing her presidential bid despite waning support from Democratic officials and donors, while some of her advisers acknowledged privately that they remained unsure about the future of her candidacy. With the political world trained on Mrs. Clinton’s financial and electoral viability, Senator Barack Obama moved closer to becoming the first African-American presidential nominee of a major party. Mr. Obama spent the day at home in Chicago, after increasing his delegate lead in Tuesday’s primaries — a result that led David Plouffe, a top Obama aide, to say on Wednesday, “We can see the finish line here.”After a disappointingly narrow victory in the In

      Obama's Still Trying to Deceive
Barack Obama just can't escape the gun issue. As gang violence continues to plague Chicago, the senator sat down with the Chicago Sun-Times to talk about guns and gun control. Obama wouldn't say how he feels about the legality of Chicago's ban on handguns, and he wouldn't give an opinion on the constitutionality of the D.C. gun ban, either. He did say that it's clear the bans aren't working, but still expressed his belief that these cities should be able to pass and enforce any gun-control law they...(read more)
