Reading one of my favorite tech blogs today (yes I am a geek) I came across a crazy video of a guy who has modified his kayak with two electric motors and given himself the ability to control it with a wii nunchuck. For those that don't know, a Wii is the latest video game console from Nintendo and the nunchuck is the little thing that fits in your hand with a control stick (think joystick) attach
Melka demonstrates how to use a Nintendo Nunchuck to control 3D Studio Max with the help of an Arduino microcontroller. The code is available so that you can play with it yourself.

Some time back we featured Nyko’s new wireless Nunchuck for Nindendo’s Wii console that, in serving to remove that extremely frustrating wire that acts to shackle the Nunchuck to the WiiMote struck us as being a particularly good idea, but Nintendo seem somewhat less enthusiastic about Nyko’s wireless Nunchuck and ...

Here are some images of Bandai Namco's Wii flight shooter Sky Crawler, based on an upcoming movie of the same name in Japan. The game is being developed by the Ace Combat team, you use the Nunchuk as the propeller while using the Wii Remote to shoot the opponents. The gameis set to come out in Fall 2008.
If there is any particularly valid criticism that can be labelled against Nintendo’s ever popular Wii it’s surely the fact that the Wii’s nunchuck is a cabled affair that often serves as somewhat of a restraint when embroiled in a overly physical gaming experience but, thanks to Nyko, you can now rid yourself of that infernal cable thus leaving you to wave your nunchuck around in a wholly unrestrained manner.
Here's a sweet little hack for all you Wii gamers out there. It involves taking a Nintendo Wii nunchuck controller and adding LEDs under the stick for an awesome new look!Okay...so this hack isn't going to change the world, win a Noble Prize, or even change the way you game. But, it's so frickin' cool you'll be running out and buying LEDs to hack up your own Wii nunchuck! Seriously!!So, how is the hack done? Well, Finch from the WiiCade.com forums, does an excellent job of explaining exactly how he did it. He began by taking the outer casing of his Wii nunchuck off to get at the innards. Finch then bent his coloured LED to fit perfectly inside the Wii nunchuck and soldered the leads to the two test points (noting polarity). Finally, he shoved everything back into the casing, closed it up and plugged it in. The final results are pretty impressive! To check out the whole hack click here.
